i hope you're doing well this september??🍂
at long last, i'm uploading..
my anxiety has been through the roof. august was a difficult month, september started with a switch of places and circumstances with a new internship and the pressure of the start of senior year. things haven't felt great mentally, and the longer this video went without publishing the more i tried to convince myself that it was too late for it, or it wasn't good enough, even after being completely edited and spending hours and hours on it. truly, my mental space has been in the gutter, but here it is finally! .-. i hope it's inspirational, motivational for viewers and anyone going through their academics the best they can!
i have so many videos that are stacked on my folders - desk makeover, reading vlog, study with me, start of uni - just waiting to be finished and uploaded, and i hope i can make them happen in a row so i can start editing and posting in real-time. it always makes me feel so much better, talking to you! i just want to feel better in general haha.. miss anxiety needs to take a little holiday and let me sleep properly :'D
the wave of support in the last two videos has been incredible and i feel so unworthy of it, so thank you the utmost for being here in this corner of mine, i don't know what i did to deserve your love, but thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. i appreciate you and think of you every single day, and i wish i didn't have to take breaks so frequently lately and could function like usual. i really want to get better and i hope i'm getting more in a routine now! i will update you like always, if not here, on my Instagram, which you can find below, i'm trying to keep active and update there, especially if i'm gone from here.
as of right now, i'm interning in general surgery rotation, and it's been an adaptation to say the least. it's been fun, but i'm away from lisbon for these 8 weeks, and it's where my heart lies. i miss the movement, i miss my study spots, i miss the coffee shops.
more updates: i've officially become a licensed driver!! :)) after fitting it into my schedule somehow for the last two years. having a driver's license is a step that proves immensely useful to any suburbian, since everything is always a 15 min drive away with no proper public transportation, so i feel really relieved!
i've been reading really good books :))) and lately started to watch the new lord of the rings show! it's really cozy to look at.
i'm longing for colder days and the arrival of the coziest months of the year.

its refreshing to see med students share their insecurities because in the medical field you are expected to be perfect, make no mistakes and be almost like a machine... 😓 thank you for doing that, it helps other people feel less alone 💓 i love your cat btw
I'm literally dying because of my exams!It’s like 9 exams in only 2 weeks!On the top of that my first two exams weren’t good so It's making me loose motivation... At this point I just want it to end!But It's finals and the grades are freaking important!I'm going crazy!!!
But you really help me to pull through it!
9 exams in 2 weeks is SO MUCH stress and material to handle ;(( 👹👹 argh 😠 i know the stress and pressure and the want to do well. and when things don’t go well it’s an extra mental toll.. take it day by day always, focus on your daily tasks and drill in your brain things don’t have to be perfect and it’s better they are done and you pulled through! be proud of yourself no matter what :))

A ansiedade no último ano de medicina é lixada. Ainda por cima, é dos anos mais solitários que há na faculdade (pelo menos na minha assim foi devido aos estágios clínicos.) Mas também dos mais recompensadores e cheio de momentos simbólicos que irão perdurar na tua memória. Conselhos de uma colega mais velha: concentra-te em pequenos objetivos e atingíveis num espaço curto de tempo. Privilegia tempo para estar com quem te faz bem (amigos e família). Procura ajuda se precisares antes que seja tarde de mais. Partilha os teus medos e receios com os teus colegas. O mais provável é que o que sentes também é sentido pelos teus colegas. Um beijinho de quem esteve desse lado há uns anos e os teus vídeos foram uma boa ajuda :)

felizmente estou em grupo com amigas nos estágios pelo menos este semestre, e temos partilhado as nossas struggles muito abertamente, e tentado figure it out as we go. umas amigas já sabem que querem trabalhar fora do país então dão menos importância à pna, enquanto que para outros colegas, o stress para acompanhar e competir é intenso. é interessante ver as diferentes perspectivas porque relativiza o exame como uma etapa, em vez de ser algo tudo ou nada. estamos a tentar levar o estudo semana por semana, mês a mês, mas muito preocupadas com o volume de matéria e os resultados… enfim, o normal como bem sabes! obrigada pelo apoio!! vou tentar manter me sã mentalmente e relativizar este sexto ano como sendo o último da faculdade e algo para ser aproveitado ao máximo! 💗💗💗

we took ollie to a vet appointment after that day and he has an appointment scheduled to the vet in two months as well! (he has a shot to take but we will check up on the eye) everything looked fine but we will continue with the vet check ups, we’re still not sure why his third eyelid did that but luckily it hasn’t happened again or did any damage that we notice. we keep him groomed so he doesn’t accidentally stab his eye scratching or playing and the house is cat friendly, we always keep an eye on him and around us. 🐈 i will give updates!!
