2008 F250 BAD STEERING GEAR?

Need some help on whether this can be adjusted or if i should just buy another steering gear box. Can you adjust the meshload screw enough to take out this much slack? I don't want to put everything back if i should just keep tearing it down to replace the gearbox. HELP! And thanks. any kind emails can be sent to [e-mail]

Going to be replacing my 05 f250 gear box in the morning. Had it completely lock the steering as I was making a right hand turn on to a main road. Talk about interesting

My 2005 F250 4x4 is doing the same thing. Lots of play, plus the loud “click” like yours when rotating to the left.
Not so bad driving at low speeds around town, but wanders way to much at highway speeds. I am going to replace the steering box on my 05 too.

swapped the box and replaced the bushings in the track-bar. steers like new now.

What ended up being the issue? Broken tooth?

Loose internals brought about from the Ford "death wobble." We replaced the steering box. Problem solved!
