How is this show so good?! This episode was perfect to showcase the slow bonding with Ellie and Joel. Perfect acting, perfect directing, perfect everything. I know they keep telling it's FEDRA and growing up in such an environment must have helped in that regard, but she also seems to have just a bit of a natural interest in guns and other means of defense/offense. Will be interesting for Season 2. - The way Joel says he's 'perseverant' (when talking about getting to Tommy)... chills! It speaks volume on how he's going to act later on in the season. Kind of a foreshadowing! - Fun fact: I re-watch every episodes in French with my family, and when Joel says 'They're not gonna hit you', in French he says the equivalent of 'I won't let them hurt you', which I thought was an interesting change. It's not simply 'They're not gonna hit you because you'll be crawling, it'll be fine.' It's more like 'They're not gonna hit you because I WON'T LET THEM.' I just saw that scene a bit differently after seeing it in French because of that! - Love love LOVE Melanie Lynskey in that role. Her softness/gentle demeanor clashes so well with the desperation and anger she's portraying, in a really good way imo. Makes you wonder what the heck happened to make her hardened like that (apart from her brother getting beaten to death that is). - Can't wait to see possibly the bloater in the next episode! I'm guessing that's what is under that cracked floor. That's it I think!
This episode 4 is interesting I love ellie jokes hahaha 🤣 and thanks to Joel he gave him his weapon in the pistol.. achieving confidence uuh that mystery boy is Sam
Seeing so many people loving this story just like I did in 2013 is heartwarming. I just love that people who didn't play the games are now able to enjoy it fully.

Joel was talking about hurting people, not killing. So when Ellie says it wasn't the first time, it doesn't necessarily mean she killed someone. But it certainly means that she has hurt someone before. I think she tried to kill Runner-Riley, but she couldn't. Maybe she just "hurt" her. She does not have to have had a pistol in her hand, a knife is enough. That she didn't kill Riley is also supported by the fact that she asked Joel how it feels to kill an infected person, knowing that they were once human. It would also explain her behavior in the basement where she killed the stalker. She injured him to see if he was still in pain or feels something, and then killed him with anger. Perhaps this infected was synonymous with the one who bit Riley.
This show hasn't disappointed yet and I don't think it will. I'm always excited to watch your videos and see how you feel about it! 03:15 I think that is just dark to us, but very usual for the US.
