I have both Turkish and Bulgarian citizenship, but I graduated from high school in Turkey and I live abroad. Can't I study medicine for low fees using my EU citizenship? If I use my Turkish citizenship, I have to pay a fee of over 10,000€
So you had 70% in hpat and got in? My son is in the 75% percentile, same score like you. He is 100% sure he doesn't have a chance. He has also 4 strong A levels, but results will be released in august. Is there still a chance?

Hi, how did u take notes and maximise learning from each drill and exams? I've reached the mean scores in the drills but still a low percentile on practise exams and I feel like I'm not doing enough after each drill and exam.. How would u recommend taking down notes or any tips on remembering each method after doing questions? Thank you.
The only notes I really took were for section 3 from the medentry curriculum. Other than that I just practiced and practiced. I started late (~November) and I didn’t get to go through all practice exams. I think if I had started earlier like in September I might’ve done better. That being said I never got above the 50th percentile in any of my practice exams and I averaged ~ 30th percentile. I’m honestly not much of a HPAT expert but Life of Anna Lou and KiMai on UA-cam have done some videos on the HPAT that might be a bit more helpful. Good luck🍀🍀

Not sure what I said in the video, I can’t remember 😂 but from what I remember, I studied all my 7 subjects, I focused more on those subjects that were my strengths but the 7th subject was my back up. For a lot of other courses, it makes sense to not study a subject and focus on your strengths more but I don’t know, for me, the HPAT wasn’t my strong suit so I had to give myself the best chance by getting really good grades in the LC.
Getting into medicine or just doing the LC is hard enough so try and balance the studying with living your life. I’m not gonna lie, it’s not easy but also be easy on yourself if that makes any sense
No you don’t have to do Irish if you you didn’t go to school in Ireland. If you’re a non-EU student you don’t have to do the HPAT either for RCSI med. (btw the majority of ppl in Ireland speak English, Irish is spoken more in some counties)
Before the Leaving Cert. so if you’re doing the LC this summer, you’ll be doing the HPAT this February. In terms of points that depends. Like for me I didn’t do that well in the HPAT but my LC results were really good so they compensated. The HPAT is very important though because after 550, LC points don’t count as much.
For Irish/EU/EEA/Swiss/UK students, we usually don’t have fees, instead we pay a student contribution charge (€3000). Some colleges don’t participate in the free fees initiative though. This doesn’t apply to international students (I.e non-EU etc ) students. That depends on the college and for RCSI that’s ~ €56,000. I’m not sure about other colleges but you can look at their websites. RCSI , Trinity college, UCD, UCC and NUIG offer undergraduate medicine courses in Ireland. Overall studying medicine in Ireland as a non-EU etc student is expensive €45,000 -> €56,000
Essentially yes, the govt will pay your fees and you’ll pay the €3000 but also depending on your college some registration fees, but that’ll be hea.ie/funding-governance-performance/funding/student-finance/course-fees/
