I absolutely love this. It feels like there’s way too little talk about iOS privacy and security, so I’ve been waiting for this for months. Thank you so much Henry :)
I love the Face ID trick. Because I love the advantage of just unlocking it easily but also now can quickly switch it off if I feel the situation is better off without it.
If you have one google account open in Safari and one google account open in firefox, wont they know you are the same person anyway since its the same hardware profile and IP address or no ?
Thanks for sharing feedback, will forward this along to the Production Team. We do have a list of hundreds of videos planned, but we’ll be sure to get this thrown in. No ETAs, but we’ll consider it in the future. - S
I love how you don’t directly tell people not to use iPhone. Trust me I’d love to have a Pixel with Graphene, but the only phone I have access to besides my main phone is my old iPhone. Both are iPhones. But I can use my old one now for my completely different identity.
Great video! I've been keeping my iPhone on version 13.4.1 mainly because of the contacting tracing "features". In the video you mention automatic phone updates. Do you think it's worth it updating to the newest version and opting out (does Apple actually opt you out?) of the contact tracing "features". I'm kind of torn because while I want the best security, I also care about my privacy and view contact tracing as crossing the line. I don't know whether I should update or not.
The contact tracing A) Is disabled by default and B) requires an application built for contact tracing to use. If nothing is installed then it won’t even work. There is a serious mail bug fixed in 13.5 that is alone a valid reason to update since the contact tracing will not be on.
I was going to ask this, the video says automatic software updates on but especially now with the child protection stuff coming out is it the best option?
8:12The thing with spotify is that there is always something that changes, but you have to find out by yourself. Just wtf. Also, I appreciate this video and I'm taking action to protect my privacy
Just curious what are your thoughts on content blockers for safari like adguard, malwarebytes, lockdown's content blocker, and firefox focus safari implementation option? I usually use firefox focus for any searches, firefox for logging into stuff and safari with said content blockers for if I know I'm going to an ad-heavy website.

Why? If you’re using android you’re clearly dumb, the iPhone's integrated design makes security vulnerabilities far less frequent and harder to find, with iOS 14.3 and forward, all the apps you visit will have to explicitly ask for your okay to use the camera and microphone. And just in case you said yes and forgot--you'll see a little green color coded icon up on the top of the screen when the camera is being used and an orange one when the microphone is being accessed.
Hey, having the UA-cam app installed on my iPad probably pretty bad for privacy haha. I’ve heard of things like newpipe for android, but there really doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of apps like that for iOS. I could just use UA-cam in a browser if I wanted to, or just add the UA-cam website to my home screen. The only issue is the fact that I have 700 songs installed on the app using the UA-cam premium “install videos” thing. I really don’t want to switch over to Spotify and have to manually find all songs, especially because a lot of them probably aren’t even on Spotify. So I don’t really know what I’m asking for, but is the UA-cam app so bad for privacy that I should just remove it right away if I care about at all, or is it okay enough to have installed? Of course this all comes to what I as an individual am trying to accomplish in terms of privacy, but what do you think? Also, is there a good open source client where I can download songs onto? Similar to Spotify?
I have jailbroken my iphone before using uncover. But I used the restore RootFS feature and un-jailbroke my device after a few days and now I am on the latest iOS ( i.e 13.5.1 ). Am I still at risk? or am I totally safe from jailbreaking side-effects?
