Wow...the Isle of Skye is breathtaking! Where you were hiking, it looked like the area where the filmed a scene from Prometheus. That part of the film was set in Skye too, where they find that cave painting. Thanks for sharing Yorkshire Pudding with us, I've always wondered what it tastes like.
2:04 The good news is that the abandoned boat has been removed. 2:57 The aquatic animals are otters which are found on Skye but are quite elusive. 4:15 Other fish and chip shops are available nearby... 7:21 The Gaelic name of the rock formation does not actually translate as thumb !
The fairy pools are up there on our list to do. Skye still looks amazing even in the bad weather. Too bad it was too wet for a swim!! What a pretty town, loved all the multi colour buildings. That hike up was amazing, the views from up there was amazing. Ooo and you got a roast too!! Top day. 🍻
Hello! We were so bummed that we didn’t get to do the fairy pools - will definitely visit again in warmer weather with proper clothing! Such a cute town and we were astounded by the views on Skye! Thanks for the comment 😁
Hi Girls, I love your style of vlog , perfectly natural and not too overboard as some visitors to Scotland are , I guess they just get carried away and try to show everything they see, I really hope you find your way back here again. Greetings from Scotland " Tapadh leat" ( Thank you)😁
Hi Jim ☺️ thank you for the kind words, it means a lot. We are so in love with Scotland and are definitely already looking into coming back (if things work out, it could be in the next 2 months) 😁
Hi Juli, I think it’ll be a bit colder than when we were there in October. It can get pretty windy in Skye so keep that in mind when you’re checking temperatures 😁
Thank you, and welcome to the channel, Mark 😊 ❤️ It's not impossible, but I wouldn't say it's the easiest place to get around. A lot of the sightseeing happens off paved paths. That being said, if you can walk a few steps there's quite bit of nature sightseeing you can do by getting out the car in parking lot by the side of the road and walking a few steps to the overlook/attraction. The town of Portree should be pretty accessible too.
It's very typical in the highlands that the weather can change quickly - on day stormy, one day foggy and the other day sunny. Great drone views nonetheless. Scotland is a paradise for nature lovers. If you want to take a break from humanity a while, scotland is the ideal place to go. The Bank of Scotland has the right to issue its own bills and they really beautiful.
I think the weather there can be so unpredictable. You could end up having a nice day or a day that rains the whole time. We went in October 2 times, the first time it was raining basically the entire time. The second time, it rained very little and most of the time there was sun with some clouds. If you go just make sure you have water resistant pants and a rain jacket. The first time we went we couldn’t do much outside because our pants would have been soaked for the entire day. But there were so many people that were out doing stuff even in the pouring rain since they had the appropriate apparel. I think spring and fall is a good time because the island won’t be packed with tourists like it would in the summer time.
We use discovercars.com or rentalcars.com. They show the best prices from a lot of different car rental companies. That’s how we choose. One thing to look for is how much is the refundable deposit. Usually the cheapest rentals have a higher deposit you need to put down because they only have the very basic insurance. I’ve seen a lot of people at the rental counters being caught by surprise how much they need to put down for deposit or end up buying extra insurance for another 20-30€/day.
Those "seals" look very much like otters to me.
The contrast of the bright green grass and the black rocks!! Wowww

What rental car company do you recommend?
