"Dad enters the room" was indeed confirmed to be a blooper where the voice actor read the prompt for his lines, instead of his lines, and yes, it fit, so they kept it.
According to Reddit, "Unicorse" could be seen as a demonstration of a Bowen triangle / Triangulation in parenting. By Bandit acting as the heel in this situation, he gets Chili and Bluey on the same side, which eventually gets Bluey to sleep. In the beginning of the episode, it was Chili and Bandit against Bluey, then it was Bluey and Bandit/Unicorse against Chili, but Bandit/Unicorse purposely turns up the awfulness so that even Bluey gets annoyed by him. It also subconsciously shows Bluey how it feels as the parent when you don't do as you're told (as in not going to bed) and reminds Chili not to be mad at Bluey since Bluey isn't trying to be a pain (because HE'S definitely trying to be a pain on purpose, and there is a difference). Bandit is a master in the art of distraction, and is willing to be the bad guy for the right cause.
One of the lessons for "Unicorse" is in the fairy tale: you can't make the entire world safe, but you can find ways to protect yourself from it. Parents can't make the world safe for their children, but they can teach them how to cope.
The moral of the Unicorse ep is in the storybook. You can't get rid of all the prickle bushes in the world, but you can learn to insulate yourself from them.
As a dude who does crochet.. yes rainbow yarn exists. But chilli is teaching a skill, no easy out. And the results speak for themselves at the end when bluey is wearing a scarf she made herself.
Also Australian magpies are not related to American or European Magpies, it’s a totally different species that is extremely territorial during nesting season. Apparently they’re known for the aggressive swooping and have even put out eyes before 😱
You guys were talking you guys missed Unicorse’s famous line where he says “children.” Unicorse Is a funny episode and Curry Quest makes me tear up every time. I like you guys as reactions you guys make me laugh. Keep up the good work.
What I found amazing about curry quest is, in addition, to being a typical fun and touching Bluey episode, it also teaches and illustrates all the elements of Joseph Campell's "Hero Quest" in just 8 minutes. "Heroes... they go anyway"!
25:58 Oh, look: after learning who all of Bandit's parents/siblings are, we finally get to see a picture of Chili's family in the top right!! I'm sure none of that will come back or be referenced in any way this season.
I love Born Yesterday. Sometimes we all need a reminder to stop and look around with fresh eyes. The next block of episodes is going to be great! We get Chest, Sheepdog, and Housework!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I love you guys. Thank you for making my horrible day a lot better. Also, thank you David for making me laugh even harder.
Always happy to see when you've uploaded another bluey ep, i look forward to them every week. 😄 i thought the crowd here might appreciate the story my sister told me over christmas. she told me how for a couple months, my niece loves to watch sleepytime every night before she goes to bed, and then my sister will rock her to sleep and put her in bed. but one night, the episode finished, she turned to her and said, "i have to go, i'm a big girl now" and walked to her room, crawled in her own bed and went to sleep. it was all my sister could do not to burst into tears until she left the room. 😭
💙Yay! Bluey! Hooray! 🙌🏼 Adam keeps digging himself down there... he "successfully" made a duck cake, and then the whole conversation after Mini-Bluey lol. Born Yesterday is one of my favorite episodes, both for the reminder that I don't have to explain the whole world to my kids in one day, and also to remind myself to slow down too, to realize: "Alive." I honestly don't know if you'll make it out of another block of episodes without tearing up this season, Jay. But, it's all worth it because this show is so good 💗
"Get him! He knows what he did!" I died laughing!!! That was awesome synchronicity! Adam was making the BEST faces during Mini-Bluey. And his wish for a Big-go was delightful! When Bingo admitted she doesn't listen to the whole thing, Adam did you think "Jay??" hehe I can't lie - Mini-Jay was hilarious and Adam looked all of 12 years old. But when Jay shot him that last look over the Celsius can, I could tell that Adam's days were truly numbered (and that was literally the most Adam thing you could have done Jay!). My face hurts from laughing so loud! But on a serious note, this episode made me so happy that my kid is an only child because I think that parents definitely have a favorite and I never have to worry that my kid think he's not my favorite. (He's also literally my favorite human, so that helps too - whew!) Then, at the end of Unicorse, Jay got his revenge! Well, played Jay, well played. Curry Quest was so good! I think that's the biggest passage of time in a single episode so far! Season 3 is truly excellent. Thanks for the dopamine hit guys - HOORAY!
Unicorse is a favorite character. And mini bluey nicely tackles something no parent will ever admit. There is always a favorite child and it will be the better behaved one
The thing is, I don’t think Bingo is truly a favorite child in any meaningful sense, she’s just the easier/obedient child. So in times of work, cleaning, collecting library books, yard chores etc the easier child does get more praise and it may seem they’re favored at those times because that’s behavior you want to encourage as a family/team. But the parents here are so wholly supportive and encouraging of both Bingo and Bluey’s development that I think it’s hard to say they actively favor one over the other, it’s just the relief of all the tasks getting completed without all the extra complaining and lack of assistance from the kids 😅
So happy to see more Bluey reactions! Season 3 is AMAZING. There's a lot of subtle hints that pay off later. Unicorse is a fan favourite. My nephew adores him. I got him a shirt for Christmas and his reaction was "Aaaaaaand why should I care?" When his grandparents visited, he used the catchphrase and his grandmother was about to give him a talking to but we quickly explained the show 😂 You want the kids to remember to share and patience but they mostly remember the bum jokes and Unicorse stuff
Bandit is an archeologist. There was a short about it too but there's other hints throughout. He does a lot of work from home but sometimes has to go on digs, hence the long leave.
So, "Mini-Bluey" really brings Bluey's potential ADHD tendencies into pristine focus. My eldest girl is Bluey 100%, and she does ALL OF THESE THINGS. It's hilarious and frustrating.
Curry Quest is easily my second favorite episode of the entire show, only below episode 49 from this season. the entire final part of the episode, from the background music to the _"You're my hero, Bingo"_ to the scene after Bandit comes back and Bingo hugs him, everything in that scene hits so hard it's such a good episode TwT
I think 'wonder', like a lot of things, is taught by example. And that's one of the amazing things about kids, is that they encourage us to stretch and reclaim.
I have baked quite a few cakes over the years (not from a box). But I will say this about Adam 's cake. One-I think it is great that he tried something completely out of his comfort zone. More people should do that, myself included. Two-his cake had me laughing so hard! That duck wasn't "Food Network Approved," but I laughed until I cried. And that is worth 10 fancy cakes to me! 😂
My Dad travelled a lot for work too most of the time it was just a week or two but sometimes he was gone a month. It really effected me as a child and made me feel like he didn’t care he had to leave us but as an adult I’ve learned he really had no choice.
So as an Aussie, I'll tell you about Magpies I actually immigrated over here when I was kid, and didn't know about it at first. But Australian magpies are the size of ravens with big bills. Every September or so, they will swoop around their nests, and the rumor is that they don't attack if your facing them head on. So kids wear helmets or plastic tube over their head with drawn on eyes or lots of plastic tie ons to make spikes. It's a real thing, gotta be careful
Curry Quest is one of my favorite episodes I was waiting for this one. First time I watched it I was not expecting a beat for beat retelling of Joseph Campbell's Hero's journey
I found this series from a clip/reel on Facebook, found my way to the playlist, and binged the series the last 2 days. I have been waiting for 3-11 Sheepdog since you first saw Wendy. Now it’s in the lineup for the next episode (which I think is today)! But now I don’t know what I’m going to do having to wait a week for each next episode. To add: I’m a big sister to 3 little sisters with a 13 year age gap between me and the oldest little. I have been their primary caretaker for about 3 years so Bluey always hits so hard.
I had a really demanding retail job where the pressure was immense from upper management. It was the darkest time in my life and I had a baby. I was salary so I worked all the time and only got to see her mostly at night and would rarely have time off. Now, I work from home and have weekends off! Two kiddos and I am there for breaks and lunch. Had to craw through crap to get here, but I made it. The quest one got me.
Jay mentioned towards the end of the video that they’re noticing an arc. That’s gonna all come together in that episode and twist that emotional dagger. 😭 And we’re all gonna cry along with Jay (and hopefully Adam as well).
Australian magpies are actually scary AF in swooping season. I had one draw blood on my scalp when i was walking to the bus 😢 My sister always got attacked riding her bike in Brisbane until she put googly eyes waving around on stalks all over her helmet 😂
Imagine how my husband felt watching "Curry Quest" for the first time while I was away on a work deployment... I think Mini Bluey is one of the few times that both Bandit and Chilli miss the mark - you gotta watch what you say around your children, especially in reference to their siblings! I consider Pat losing his pie as an advance punishment for something he does in the next batch or two of episodes.
I feel like mini bluey was a gentle way to let parents feel validated about them having feelings about their kids personalities. Chilli and Bandit adore their girls, but it's not a secret that Bluey is higher energy and controlling. Theres nothing wrong with knowing that- but there IS as problem with treating them differently because of it.
Woot, woot! Bluey’s back! Starting off strong with all four of these! They are all absolute BANGERS. My personal ranking is Curry Quest, Born Yesterday, Unicorse and Mini Bluey. Btw, LOVE the shade at 4:33

"Dad enters the room" was indeed confirmed to be a blooper where the voice actor read the prompt for his lines, instead of his lines, and yes, it fit, so they kept it.
Really? It feels like such a Bandit thing to say. lol.
Yeah even as a blooper it's such a bandit thing to say I'm not surprised they kept it in there lmao
I have started doing it, and my son loves it
To be honest I didn’t think much about it because I know some people in Australia that say something like that when they come in anyway😂
DISAPPOINTED!

Curry Quest is an underated fave of mine, as a kid whose dad traveled for work I didn't realize how much I would relate to it.
SAME. I love all the iconic favorites, but I consider Barky Boats and Curry Quest to be my personal favorites.
Born Yesterday: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it”- Ferris Bueller
Wait, did they pass over the most iconic Unicorse line, "children"? 😢
Has anyone seen the full reaction? Did they miss the line? I would think it would bring them so much joy.
I was looking forward to seeing their reactions at that part! 😕
They did miss the children answer, just an unfortunate moment of them talking over it
Yeah, unfortunately they missed it in full reaction too. Too bad. That line broke me the first time I saw that episode.
Unicorse was Bandit redirecting Chilli's ire from Bluey to him. So She would have someone else to air her frustrations too.
