One of the few bands that has been able to integrate the sublime of music with the seemingly small human things of everyday life, those that in memory, with joy or pain, we carry forever with us.
I've always felt like Paul was apologizing for his mistakes, while saying that he understood the mistakes of others. That being a human is a bitch. That we struggle to understand ourselves, much less another person. This is one of my favorite Interpol songs.
Such a fantastic performance, the vibe of this song never ceases to amaze and that outro, especially live, is perfection. Pajo’s bass does Carlos’ studio version justice, smooth as can be. The kind of forgotten album by many, self-titled on the surface admittedly doesn’t exactly draw one in entirely…but after multiple listens straight through there’s an underlying and subtle genius that emerges. I relate my experience as sort of an epiphany, around the 4th or 5th play through of the album, and truly was overwhelmed at the true magic they achieved on this album and I rank it almost on par with TOTBL.
Been getting into this song again lately. The chorus is great😎 I wish they'd play a wider variety of their songs for their live shows. It always feels as though they prefer to play it safe.

I travelled all the way to New York to see Interpol in MSG, feb16 (2019). Unforgettable. My gf was with me, but she doesn't like Interpol like I do. I should marry her.
Still following my search for the truth in the removal of Interpol videos and comments, I communicate for those who do not already know that the video "Tidal Wave" has also been removed from UA-cam with this explanation: "Video not available.This video includes content from Beggars, who have blocked it from being played in your country for copyright reasons" However, "coincidentally", they removed the video with the most views, while they left the other dozen of Tidal Wave scattered on the web.Now I am definitely convinced that all this does not happen in good faith.
