Hi is it best to create a new Amazon account that is tied to my business checking account & my llc since the book will go under my llc? Or is it best to do so with my regular shopping Amazon account that I use? I want to do this for my 1st children’s book
That's 100% up to you. But, it probably is a good idea to have your KDP account associated with your business. Just don't open two accounts. If you have your KDP account currently listed under your personal info, you can probably ask them to switch it to your business. Reach out to support through the Contact Us link in the bottom of your KDP dashboard.
Hi Dale, I would like to ask a question. While filling the form about "My Profile", there's a box that needs "Address Line 1" detail. What address is needed right there? Secondly, I'm a Nigerian and currently in Nigeria, how do I go about the Tax Information. Do you have any idea that can help me out?
They're asking for your physical address or business address. If you're using a business entity with your account, use your business address. Don't worry, they will NOT be sharing your address publicly, it's for Amazon only. And, as far as the tax info, I'm out of my element there. Contact KDP support for guidance on that. I don't want to mislead you or give you bad info. Taxes are NOT my forte and I'd only be able to guess. That's not good for either of us. haha
What if you don't have an Amazon customer account for selling? Can you still create the Amazon KDP and sell books?? Can you have audible? If you don't have an Amazon account, what are the qualifications for Amazon associates and creating an audiobook? Thanks
Hey I'm new to your channel and I was wondering if I could ask a question..my question is, " Do you need something like a reseller permit, here in texas its called a sales and use tax ..if you want to make this an official business along with getting your llc and ein number.
No, you'd only need it if you plan to buy and self-fulfill print orders. Now, I still recommend having a business entity, but that's legal advice, so I can't really dispense that. I recommend consulting an attorney about the appropriate steps for you and your business needs. But as for the reseller license, you won't need that unless you plan on stocking inventory and shipping it.
Hello! I already have a business,LLC, with an EIN number as well. Since I want to separate my personal from business, do I need to create another business solely for KDP? Or can I use my regular business info for KDP? Sorry if thats a dumb question lol
You're the only one who can answer this question. If you already have a business, does publishing fit into it? If not, then you may want to create a new business. Are you really looking to make publishing a main business? If not, then you probably don't need to create a new separate entity. Think about it logically.
Thanks for all information. I have almost finished writing my book. I think I can to handle all these steps, so is there any place or company who can help me create KDP account and upload my manuscript on Amazon?
It's best to handle your account yourself. You need to add banking information, it's connected to your Amazon account, and Amazon has some hefty 2-factor authentication that makes hiring this out nearly impossible. I recommend handling this yourself.
Thank you - this was very helpful. I’ve just signed up and created my account. Went through the whole process but I still don’t have access to marketing books like you do. There are books for me to choose from. Is it because I’m new? Could you please help?
You have to publish books through this platform to access the marketing tools. Since you're brand new, I'm assuming you haven't published any books, right?
I am from India and 16yrs old and I am trying to publish through my parent's KDP account. Though I am having a question, whose tax information do I have to put, and since the bank details are of my parents, what shoul I answer following question? Are you acting as an intermediary agent, or other person receiving payment on behalf of another person or as a flow-through entity?
Great questions. I don't really have the answers. Contact KDP. They will be able to guide you much better than I can. From your KDP dashboard, scroll all the way to the bottom and click the Contact Us link.
Well, you won't pay any taxes if you don't make any money. But, since you're going to be publishing books to a platform that you'll sell them, then you need to put your tax info. There's no way around it.

@@DaleLRoberts I'm confused a bit about that, so when you complete the personal information form doesn't that mean your real name? How do some people publish under many different pen names?
Dean Deano set up your account with your name, not the pen name. When you go to publish a book, use your pen name in the first step of the upload. That simple.
Thanks for the valuable information. My question: I have a PO Box since I live about a 1/2 mile off the main road on a lake. Many of us have PO Box mailing addresses here. Is it OK to sign up for KDP under the PO Box. My bank account statements are mailed to the PO Box.
I don't recall address being a huge thing during the sign-up process. In fact, if you just go to kdp.amazon.com, you should be able to log in with your Amazon account credentials.
Dale, someone broke into my home and much of my paperwork was stolen. I may be forced to open another account. What can I do to stay in good standards with Kindle. I don't remember my old sign up information, or password. It was quite some time ago?
I'm sorry to hear that. You need to reach out to Amazon KDP directly. Your old account should be attached to an email address. Do you not what it was or have access? If you DO have access, you can just do a Forgot Password and recover your account that way. Having multiple account is against the KDP terms of service, so you don't want to open another account unless you're advised to do so by KDP. If you DON'T have access to the email account you signed up with, then I don't know. Be better organized going forward. Your KDP credentials should be the same as your Amazon account.

Tax information is something you have to work to get, unfortunately. We are normally set up with it from birth. In the U.S., it's our social security number. So, it would be the Canadian equivalent to that, I would think.
hey Dale, if for example my amazon kdp account is banned, can i still use it for normal amazon shopping and i also use same account for amazon affiliate links. what you recommend
Yep, those accounts are completely separate. Of course, I can't guarantee that, but from what I've heard from others, KDP account closure does not affect the other accounts.
You can publish your short stories written in magazines 20 years ago as kdp ebook. So long as you have the rights to your written content, you should be good to go. If you're not sure, consult the magazine that used your piece. They may have a contract with you that I don't know about, so you'll want to make absolutely sure before you publish your previously published work from a magazine that's from twenty years ago.
Hi Dale. I don't know if you'll see this, but I'm struggling to find the answer, and I'm hoping you can help. I'm trying to make a KDP account with my business email. I own a partnership LLC. However, the very first pieces of information KDP asks for are whether I am an individual or corporation. If I select corporation, it asks for the date I was incorporated. So that seems like the wrong choice, since I'm not incorporated...but am I technically making an "individual" account? I'm so afraid that I'm going to fill something out wrong. I've been looking all over for an answer, but I haven't found anything concrete. If you see this, thank you for taking the time to read it. And if not, well, thanks for the great video anyway 😊

Yes, use the same account login for the Amazon marketplace. Could you use a separate login? Yes, but it'll create confusion and could create a false positive if you accidentally login with the wrong account. Save yourself the trouble, just use the Amazon account login.
Yeah, there's DEFINITELY no app for KDP. If there is it'd have to be brand new and the KDP team would be hiding it from me. I believe if you don't submit your bank account information, then Amazon will just send out a check. To get a tax number, you can either use your social security number if you're doing business as yourself or you can register your business as an LLC and get an EIN number. That's the business equivalent to a social security number. It's not easy. There's a fee and it's a lot of paperwork.

That's not good for either of us. haha
Thank you for the insight Dale
You got it!
What company do you use to print hard copy?
I like IngramSpark, but am looking into Bookvault for my next big releases.
What if you don't have an Amazon customer account for selling? Can you still create the Amazon KDP and sell books?? Can you have audible? If you don't have an Amazon account, what are the qualifications for Amazon associates and creating an audiobook? Thanks
You don’t need a sellers account. Just get an Amazon login and you’re set.
@@DaleLRoberts So long as you got an Amazon account, you don't have to be a prime member.
@@DaleLRoberts thank you so much
Like how much do I need for kdp registration
How much what? It doesn't cost anything.

Thank you very much. Do I have to make Business account for Amazon or just my checking account is OK?
Thank you - this was very helpful. I’ve just signed up and created my account. Went through the whole process but I still don’t have access to marketing books like you do. There are books for me to choose from. Is it because I’m new? Could you please help?
You have to publish books through this platform to access the marketing tools. Since you're brand new, I'm assuming you haven't published any books, right?
@@DaleLRoberts not yet…ok, that makes sense - thank you!

What can be added in tax information if person does not have enough money to pay tax?
Well, you won't pay any taxes if you don't make any money. But, since you're going to be publishing books to a platform that you'll sell them, then you need to put your tax info. There's no way around it.
@@DaleLRoberts Thanks for your prompt response. You are doing great work.I joined your Facebook group and from there I watched your channel. Its very helpful.I really appreciate your help.Stay blessed.
Awesome! Hit me up in the comments here or in the Facebook Group should you have any questions.

No dice. These are things you need to have in place in order to publish on KDP.

How do we create our account if we plan to use a pen name ?
Use your real information. You can create the pen name within that.
@@DaleLRoberts : would I add my pen name on the line for 'legal name' , or does that need to be my real name for payment purposes ?
No, put your legal name or business name.
Hi Dale, where is the option where you add the pen name?
Dean Deano you add the pen name in the same spot as the author name. There’s not a special spot for pen names.
@@DaleLRoberts ah now it makes sense, I haven't got to that part yet to uploading my first book so haven't seen that option but makes sense now thanks
Yeah, it’s way easier than most people know. But, you don’t have to worry about the account information being public facing. Only KDP sees that.
Thanks for your videos and Information it is really clear and helpful.
Glad to help. Stay tuned for more!
Thanks Dale. I am right at this stage now. !! Will review step by step video next.!
Nice! I'm pumped for you, Darrell! I notice you've been a subscriber of the channel for the past year. That reminds me of Kevin Maguire. He was subscribed to the channel since about day one, but didn't really publish anything until 2 years into it. When he did - BOOM! His author brand exploded.

I have created my book but publishing is the problem, it keeps telling me This object is outside the margins, I have tried everything, re-edit for over 3 days now still the same thing, it's really frustrating 😢

Why Amazon keep asking contributer?
Hi ! I'm in Canada and I never worked so I dont have this tax information (i dont know what it is) so I would like to be sure about what exactly I need to give as informations to pubish my books. Social assurance number ? Bank account number ? Any other information ? Are they necessary ?
Tax information is something you have to work to get, unfortunately. We are normally set up with it from birth. In the U.S., it's our social security number. So, it would be the Canadian equivalent to that, I would think.
hey Dale, if for example my amazon kdp account is banned, can i still use it for normal amazon shopping and i also use same account for amazon affiliate links. what you recommend
Yep, those accounts are completely separate. Of course, I can't guarantee that, but from what I've heard from others, KDP account closure does not affect the other accounts.
Please tell me that can I publish my short stories written in magazines 20 years ago as kdp ebook sir
*are no books to choose from. So frustrating cause I spent a lot of time signing up.
I'm not sure what you're talking about. You have to publish your books on this platform for them to show in your Bookshelf.

Well, you're not a corporation, so you should fill it out as individual.
I have an LLC as well and I haven't had any issues.

Hello, can i publish any category book or i have to choose only one category
You can choose however many categories to publish in. There's no limit.
Great video-thank you. When you say open only one account - I have an Amazon account where I buy from. Should I use that for KDP as well, or open a specific KDP Account ?
Yes, use the same account login for the Amazon marketplace. Could you use a separate login? Yes, but it'll create confusion and could create a false positive if you accidentally login with the wrong account. Save yourself the trouble, just use the Amazon account login.
Do we put individual or business on the tax part?
If you don’t have an official business entity, then go with individual.
I have not bank account so it will proceed or not and will i get the royalty in cash or Google pay if i have not the bank account pls help sir .

A business account is not required, but if you plan to make your publishing efforts a business in the future, it's not the worse idea.
Do you have to have an Amzon account to open up a KDP Kindle account?? Can I just open the KDP only?? Thanks.
Yes, you’ll need an Amazon log-in to access KDP. You don’t have to spend any money, it’s simply a log-in. That’s it.
Just got interested in this. Be good to see a follow up with change and if there is an app option. Thanks
The process is still the same and there's no app, you have to set it up through a browser.
@DaleLRoberts thanks for the quick response buddy. Does the mean the app I saw for it is a fake? I'm always cautious of this. Cheers again.
Yeah, there's DEFINITELY no app for KDP. If there is it'd have to be brand new and the KDP team would be hiding it from me. I speak with their team on the regular and if they rolled out an app, I'd probably be the first to hear. Steer clear of that app for now. Don't want you to be taken for a ride.
@DaleLRoberts thank you brutha. Much appreciated!

Are there any costs that Amazon wants to have ?
Yes and no. You don't have to pay anything upfront, but they function on a revenue share model where they get a percentage of each sale.
Hi dale I would like to ask you a question
Ask away.
Thank you! Very helpful video!!
You're welcome!
How do I setup check payment and how do I get a tax number I'm having a hard time
I believe if you don't submit your bank account information, then Amazon will just send out a check. To get a tax number, you can either use your social security number if you're doing business as yourself or you can register your business as an LLC and get an EIN number. That's the business equivalent to a social security number. It's not easy. There's a fee and it's a lot of paperwork.
Hi Dale sir, I've got a question. I'm working on a book where I'll put small sizes emojis, around 30 or 40 maybe. I've downloaded them from internet and I'm pretty much sure I've downloaded them from free sites. So, will I get in trouble if I upload it in KDP?
