Thanks for the list, Emma. This month is looking to be the strongest list of films so far this year. I will definitely be seeing Thine Ears Shall Bleed, The Inheritance, Arcadian (comes out same day as Longlegs, double Nicholas Cage), The Blue Rose and The Girl In The Pool.

Managed to catch Blue Rose last year, such impressive production design for what is essentially a student film, very twin peaks vibes. I really enjoyed Arcadian and Humane, or at least the set up to humane...

Thine Ears... looks intriguing as well if both of those are good then this year was for folk horror! I loved The Devil's Bath, and Nosferatu is gonna be amazing
I rented Arcadian on prime earlier this year and I feel like there is a bit of a lighting issue that needs to be mentioned beforehand for anyone who will be watching at home. Don’t worry, I will NOT be giving any spoilers. When I first watched the movie, I watched it on my iPhone, and there was one scene with particularly low lighting where I saw something and thought “omg that’s so creepy I’m gonna show this movie to my husband, he might really like this one”. Literally THAT one moment is what made me excited to show him the movie. So that evening, I play the movie for him on our TV and you COULD NOT SEE IT ON THE TV BECAUSE OF THE POOR LIGHTING. Like I even paused it and walked right up to the screen. Played around with the light settings. Nothing. Our tv is pretty nice (not OLED 8K, but still good quality and only a couple years old) and there was no sunlight but I still could NOT see what I was able to see on my phone. The movie is still great otherwise, he really liked it. But it just REALLY disappointed me. Idk, just something I thought people should be aware of, especially if you’ve had lighting issues with your television in the past.
Please help, there was a film/series I watched on Netflix or Prime, it was about a young couple in the late 70s early 80s that ran a hairdressers and go on regular holidays to the south of France, where murders start to happen, can’t remember its name and it’s driving me crazy, Thanks
@@amber865 haven’t found it so far, maybe it was delayed. And I rented and watched the first 10 min of the wrong movie (“Last Breath” - part found footage documentary about a deep sea diver tragedy) before I was like … this doesn’t seem right, and that’s when I left the comment hoping someone who found the right movie could tell me where. Maybe later this month 🤷♀️😄
Arcadian was a sloppy mess for me, big let down. The character decision making was so dumb I was more annoyed than engaged. Made it so there's no emotional weight to it. Not enough Nic Cage freakouts unfortunately, and there was plenty of room for this yawn fest to accommodate. Also, it's a total "A Quiet Place" rip off tbh, lazy piggyback writing.

Humane is exceptionally bad, worst movie of 2024 and maybe also 2025. I can't say I had high expectations but I was curious ... wow its so bad.
