They go heavier... Zen "live' and Ama-Te-Ras 'live'... get blown!! Get gritty and do their smaller venue live stuff... Blooming, Sorai... any of the 'Whisky a go go concert'... they are just sooooooo engaging and so skilled and they 'smile'!!! I cannot describe how fresh and fun they are.. and their stuff is soooooooooo good!!
You have quite the journey ahead of you with this group. So many originals and covers you have yet to watch. Some of their original songs to check out are, in no particular order, "Hypnosis", "Ray of Light", "Fighter", "Hozuki" and "Life". There are many more but take your time, it'll be a blast!
7:25 And yeah that's also what I love about them. They decided to be a band, and they just do them. They are not assembled by an agency to be a commercial product, an "idol" metal band, or anything like that. They are them and it's awsome, but it's also very crazy to get down that road in a country where most bands are more "formatted" to please the audience, to be "kawaii" or have this or that look. It also somewhat may end-up beeing in Japan, a very modern way to demonstrate what independent ladies can be, and that shows something we may not often witness from that country where ladies tend to be a bit more on the "fit in the community's mold" and "don't step outside of the line". I love them for the music, for their smiles, but also for their freedom and their guts to do what they do, and how they do it. Great react, keep up the great work.
I can't get enough of this band right now. There sound is just so amazing to listen to it's very addicting... I crave those vocals from Mayu & those heavy guitar riffs are fantastic. Listening to this band feels amazing..
I'm so absolutely in love with this band. Your face is exactly like mine was when I saw this the first time. Mayu is very special... and the rest of the band is so technically impressive. Next up Raitei (Best song IMO), and Ray of Light (newest single).
@G.O.T Games Another first class reaction, my friend! Now you know the heavy side of Nemophila. But most of us shed more than one tear, when watching and listening to their MV "Life". Its about the beautiful sides of life, such as friendship, giving birth, celebrating a birthday and coming together after all the fuss with the pandemia (my interpretation). Stay safe!!
Also it was composed to welcome back drummer Tamu after an extended maternity leave- hence the focus on new life and future etc. It was also Hazuki's birthday as I recall. So a "twofer"
The number of flat-out brilliant all-female (and co-ed) metal and hard rock bands in Japan is unreal. You mentioned some of the best, and others have suggested Hanabie (yes!), and there are so many more: Hagane , Bridear, Aldious, Trident, Ark Royal, Little Lilith, Mary's Blood, Full Moon, Doll$Boxx, Madaseka, Moth in Lilac, Pinkish Crown, Show-Ya, TELECiDE (sadly disbanded), Orochi (formerly RagDollz), and a LOT more. Some kick-ass co-ed bands with women doing more than fronting: Asterism (instrumental trio with guitar virtuoso HAL-CA ("Haruka"), The SheGlapes, Unlucky Morpheus (female voice and violin in a brilliant symphonic metal band), Whiskey Dust (old-school LA style sleaze rock!), etc. The metal/HR scene in Japan is very possibly the best in the worlds right now (the lads are killing it, too!).
Great reaction. Can’t wait to see them on 6/24!! Keep going w/Japanese bands. There are many more. How about Hanabie, Unlucky Morpheus and etc…? The list goes on.
Great. How about "We love sweets" for Hanabie and "Black Pentagram" for Unlucky Morpheus to start off? You won’t be disappointed! Unlucky Morpheus isn’t an all female metal band, but the vocalist and the violinist are female. They are incredible! 🤘
Fun Facts!! A typhoon had blown through only a couple days before the video shoot. It was ridiculously cold and so windy that the only thing that Mayu, the singer, could hear was Tamu's drumming. Hazuki has said that she really worked so hard on her part of the solo that after all the recording she didn't want to play guitar anymore and didn't touch one for a week. I'm sure she just meant she needed a break because, you know...they're back!
Great band and surprisingly quite a few brits following them mainly due to them putting out a Iron Maiden cover as there first YT upload .This alerted many metal fans to them, there a breath of fresh air in the metal world now and fast becoming one of the best.
My song for Summer 2022! It just brightens up everything once it's blasting out. Lemmy would have loved this! They're all also much easier on the eye than, say, Slipknot. ** Warning: May cause a crash if listened to while driving! ** PS There are a few versions of this available, each one solely on one of the band members - drums, bass and guitar, basically. They're on YT.
Another banger of a song and another banger of a reaction! The usual next songs from Nemophila to suggest are Raitei and Oiran but if you'd like to see and hear a different sound from them then you might want to try Life or Hypnosis. Either way you won't go wrong with any Nemophila tack and they have a new single releasing in 1 week on 6/22 called Adabya and let me tell you it's freaking awesome (I got to hear it already on their live stream concert last week) so why not just do Adabaya when it comes out!
hey man.....luv everything this band does.....they are the first band that has the musicianship similar to Band Maid. Everyone in this band is a metal superstar in Japan. Take a listen to Hypnosis.....it will blow your mind !!!!!!! its rapidly becoming my fav Nemophila song !!!!!!!!!
I agree. The music is the point, and Nemophila gets that. Two non-Japanese all female groups to check out: Plush. Hard rock. USA. Some covers but some fine kickin' originals. Moriah (yes, with an "o") is powerful vocalist and lead songwriter. The Warning. New, quality, old school metal. 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico who sound like a 6 piece band. Most songs are in English. Their unique version of "Enter Sandman" collab with Alessia Cara is on Metallica's Blacklist album. But following early YT reactions to their metal covers (including that song), they started composing their own, excellent material. They are: Daniella "Dany" Villarreal - guitar, vocals Paulina "Pau" (pow) Villarreal - drums, some vocals Alejandra "Ale" (olly) Villarreal - bass, occasional vocals. She is still a teenager, but playing on a professional level since 9. You have to hear to believe they're that good.
Loose and fluffy with sounds from hell - that’s Mayu’s description. Nemophila are just about perfect. Next up - “Life”. Still, I can’t believe you haven’t found Hanabie yet though - their calling card is “We Love Sweets”. You won’t be disappointed. Hanabie = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The location is Meiji Centenial observation tower in Futtsu Park Chiba Prefecture built in 1971. It is located in the South-east corner of Tokyo Bay. I feel for the gear guys that had to lug all their equipment up all these stairs!
Found this when the TV station NHK Tokyo posted this yesterday - Nemophila doing Revive live in the studio - ua-cam.com/video/Q_Kiru9MbPw/v-deo.html . Enjoy!
Performing their music is just them being in their comfort zone and thus there is no need to put fancy or concept outfit to match everyone like cheerleading bunch because they are simply not... and they like doing what they doing so it doesn't matter to them about their appearance but the most important thing for them is their music, spreading positivity and have fun. They don't have any set image unlike the other 'major' all female band and that what makes them stand out from others apart from extreme and aggressive vocals with experienced superb veteran of musicians. Their only image they want to send out is "jigoku no yurufuwa" which means: fluffy cute from hell (fluffy cute as them being themselves as ladies, who could deliver brutal and heavy as hell music if they really want to)
If you want an experience, listen to their cover of the pop song "Make You Happy". Nemophila is an extremely talented and versatile band and could literally record an album in any genre and it would be great
I have shock factor left for you. We can go the totally opposite way and ask you to check out Ningen Isu. You can start with Heartless Scat. Instead of a band with young ladies you have a band of elder Japanese gentlemen. A trio who have playing for 30+ years and playing seriously heavy. Some call them Black Sabbath of Japan. And as usual with Japanese bands they are superb live. They truly shines there. But for Heartless Scat I suggest their music video and don't forget to turn on captions.
@@GOTGames Being a lover of Lovebites Aldious is one of the bands closest to Lovebites style of playing they don't have the screech of Nemophila but they have an awesome band and I love their bassist Mawa she's real good
Aldious has been through three fulltime vocalist-songwriters. Maki Oyama has been working as a "guest" vocalist (the 4th if she stays, the 2nd guest if not, after Cyntia's Saki) and I'm hoping they come up with some original tunes that take full advantage of her potential for powerful delivery because the combination could be a hell of a metal band. Aldious has the ability to finesse any style, so does Maki, but at full cry she brings it on like a freight train.
Gacharic Spin has been around awhile. A lot of high energy tunes, largely dance oriented. HOWEVER: In the past year their new music is sounding more experimental jazz-rock fusion to me, still typically high energy and with vocals, and the most interesting material I've heard from them. Lovely, quirky, wildly talented ladies. Fans sometimes refer to them as Gachapin (gotcha pin).
I can’t wait to see them in July! I’m gonna attempt to trade concert shirts with Saki! I’m gonna give her my KISS shirt! Hopefully, she’ll exchange for a shirt or a guitar pick
I love Rammstein and Babymetal too - seen them both, and there's a place for theatricality. Still I love simplicity, and I love Haraguchi-san on bass (as a bassist). Check out Hypnosis next. I love Mayu's attitude and playfulness, and positivity.
