It is crazy that a band like Sylosis can't earn enough without having day jobs. So much work goes into writting, recording, touring etc etc. But good for you guys, you're in it for the right reasons. Saw you play Electric Brixton Friday and it was insane! Can't wait to catch you guys again 🤘🏼
Just Wana say about this 4:03, that "conclusion of an age" is an awesome album that there is not enough words to describe how awesome it is, and "after Lifeless Years" is the first sylosis song I heard and since then my life changed for good, I cannot say enough how grateful I am for Sylosis music, thank you and please never stop❤️
To add to the DI question, I would say Ghost Note Audio made an interesting video on input gain and ampsims, pointing out the common mistakes, so that might be helpful!
I always appreciate the tips and advice you share! I hope you're business ventures with your own Amp Sim and Drum Samples help provide you better financially so you You and Sylosis can thrive!
Was sick to see you guys this last US tour. Glad a got to give you a quick cheers after your set in mesa, AZ. I sincerely ment the thank you for coming because I know how hard it is to tour even for us bands with the cost being so high.
Saw you guys in San Antonio last month. Seeing you again next April. I literally bought the tickets for next year not knowing Trivium, BFMV and ABR were on the bill. I'm mainly there to see Sylosis and everybody else is a nice bonus.
Relatively new Sylosis fan here. I just saw you guys in Pittsburgh last week with Fit For an Autopsy and holy hell that was a sick show. Hope to see you guys back in the states again someday. Cheers 🤘🤘
In regards of Finacial Aspect of having / being a band: DIY is now very popular approach for a lot of small/medium bands. I was wondering if it would be possible to do some deepdive on the revenue sources (Touring, Records, Streaming, Merch, Etc)
How does the band find the balance in touring as a headliner and touring as support? I'd imagine being a headliner is much different to being a supporting band, what key differences factor into those tours?
Hi Josh! I love the tones on Architects' "Classic symptoms...". What amps, guitars etc did you nad Adam use on the album? You have always had some of my favourite guitar tones and riffs. Sorry if you've answered this before
Holy Hell was 5150, FTTWTE was my Kemper (the exact profile is in the 3rd Kemper pack) and CSOABS was Quad Cortex with one of my impulse responses. I was the only one that played guitar on those records
Not asking for specifics (for security purposes), but what kind of jobs do Sylosis work outside of the band? I’d be interested to know what you guys do to balance Sylosis with your personal lives and other jobs
Respectfully disagree that living in the U.S. is a net positive for a touring band. As you pointed out, this place is enormous. It’s not unusual to have a 400-600 mile drive from one show to the next. To put it in perspective, the drive from Warsaw Poland to London is 1000 miles. The drive from Tampa to Houston (one little corner) is the same distance with maybe 2 decent markets between the two cities (being generous). I would definitely say that being in close enough proximity to play every major festival and A/B market in Europe without getting on a plane is a way bigger benefit. But you know what they say. The grass is always greener. Cheers.
But for us to get to the US we have to buy £3000 Visas each person on top of flights and excess baggage (15 pieces). US bands coming to the UK dont have to pay those prices for visas. For US bands, they can easily do two full US (and Canada) tours a year. If they own their own van and trailer, one tour could pay those off. Having toured the US in vans, buses and bandwagons I’m well versed in the costs and the types of drives we do over there. You can’t also just get on every major EU festival every summer and get paid a lot of money to do so
Hey, Josh. I know you're an ESP guy. Have you tried any ENGL amps (since they're owned by the same company)? What about the EVH 5150III 100S EL34, since it's the perfect blend of a 5150III and a modded Marshall? Also.. Would you at least be open to re-recording "After Lifeless Years" and "Teras"? Thanks!
I tried an ENGL over at ESP hq in Hollywood and it sounded awesome. Maybe it was a Savage? I dont like EL34s. Much prefer a 6L6 tone. Not a fan of the Marshall tone
Sylosis needs more variety in genres to make money, real fans are ready for change. Josh can write any kind of music, there is no need to hold back his talent. Light songs like "Disavowed" are now well received by listeners, it's cool. I think we need to go this way. We love you brother

Just the way the music industry is going, sadly.
Touring makes now money or even costs a band money.

Man I'll Never forget that day either! Opened up my eyes ❤️🔥
I’m a massive fan of Josh. I own his STL amp sim, the JM-II and now the MDL Drums. Everything he touches is amazing.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻
I could listen to josh talk all day, cool dude
Cant wait for Sylosis with Trivium and BFMV in Seattle 🤘😎
Hes a wealth full of knowledge. I really like hearing what he has to say. Especially anything guitar related. Thanks Josh

Amazing work brother... someday I'll teach my son about Sylosis and JM's riffs and mixing skills... 🤘😖🤘
I love EOTE tone. Love that album

I really like how the vocals sounded on the earlier albums i wouldnt mind a couple new songs with those type of vocals
Hey Josh ! By any chance could you had a gig in montreal with sylosis for your north america tour ? Cheers from a QC fan. Your IR PACK ROCKS !!!

see you in December in Hungary! 😊
Crack!🤘
First !
What is Josh's main job?
I thought he was a producer
Selling his recording software.
@@joeylizotte7537yup. MDLTONE and the Kemper/IR packs and then mixing/producing bands on the side. Signature guitar etc makes a huge difference too
