Saitek overprices a lot of their stuff. My pro flight yoke was two hundred dollars or something and it needed so much end-user tweaking on the inside to actually make it feel good.
Had a Saitek Cyborg 3D gold years ago (~200€ back then), it was all cool, but one day it stopped working. A friend of mine who was more fond of electronics opened it; the wires weren't soldered, they were just glued with a hot melt glue gun. For this Saitek lost all credibility in my eyes.
Yeah, when doing a whole bunch of tweaking I noticed that as well. They had a whole bundle of wires stuck together with a cable clip and just glued them on. The mechanisms were pretty much made to fail. Pretty bad.
The steering wheel is a joke. NO force feedback and it is made of the cheapest plastic you can find lol. On the other hand the control centre seems nice even in other games.
Yeah, the wheel looks like ass. Made of the cheapest plastic ever, no force feedback, and you want 150 bucks for it?! Fuck off. I got a Logitech Driving Force Pro for 40 Swedish Krona/Crowns, which is like 4-5 bucks, at a local second hand shop, and that has decent Force Feedback and at least seems to be built reasonably well out of decent plastic. DFPs (and Driving Force GTs) are great budget wheels and can be found for less than fifty bucks on eBay if you shop around. (I would imagine my Logitech toy wheel probable doesn't hold a candle to LGR's $600 sim racing setup though, but that's a matter of LGR wanting to spend big bucks to play precision sim racing well versus me being perfectly happy playing arcade racers on my cheap Logitech toy wheel (not into sim racing personally, arcade all the way for me))
"Good grief this is cheap." - Saitek described in one sentence. Seriously, I tried one of their joysticks and I've never seen so horrible build quality.

Zombiepull Are there any decent tank simulators on the market at the moment? The only two I know of are War Thunder and World of Tanks, but neither of them are very simulator-y, and don't have the amount of functions to justify a control panel. I could see playing MechWarrior with one though.
+TheStargateNerd I think the most accurate tank sim I've ever seen was "Steel Beasts Pro" by eSim games. It's on the pricey side but if you want a really hardcore tank sim, that's the one to go with.
During old days we called people, who were playing Doom and Quake without mouse and only with keyboard by name "Tractor drivers" now I know, how Doom is played by real tractor driver =)
@@tdark987 A late answer, but no, WASD wasn't "invented" yet. The default setup for Doom & Quake was: up/down arrow keys to move forward and backward, left/right arrows to *turn*, < and > keys to strafe, ctrl to fire. This was awkward and difficult to turn AND move simultaneously. Thus players were moving like a tractor in a field: straight forward, then stopping to make a turn, then forward again.
Andrey K. Ah, I see. The first version of Doom I ever played was on Windows (3.1 I believe, though it could have been 95) and had mouse support for turning left/right, but obviously not up/down. Arrow keys were forward/backward/strafe, and left mouse was fire. Indeed, I’d never heard of WASD back then; using the arrow keys like that felt perfectly fine for a game like Doom. I’m guessing the WASD scheme only came in later with games such as Quake and Half Life which required the use of additional keys to handle actions beyond just moving.
That panel indeed looks very useful for flight sims... I would have considered getting one if it had an aluminium panel and proper mechanical button switches. I GOT A TREEE!
Nice to see that we're still getting odd paripherals, even in this day and age. I don't know why companies want you to review their stuff, you're so honest about them - it's nice to see.
They want him to review things so that people know about their products. I particular the farming sim setup. It's likely that LGR viewers are going to be interested in this. 😎😉
Jesus $300 for some plastic? I mean I know that sounds silly but really man at the very least they could have made it metal. Also we have the same exact monitor!
This controller looks really cheap, especially those pedals, what the hell!? My Logitech G27 is to strong that once I was thrashing a car in a game, and I broke my desk. The wheel is still fine
+Nomado The biggest factor with the price, in my opinion, would be the lack of demand. It's the same with joystick, HOTAS, and yoke controllers these days. The ones that are still around being made tend to be rather pricey.
Trees are a renewable resource, if we replant trees, but we need to leave old growth forest, what's left of them, alone. The problem is greed, and greed rules the world. He was making fun of the stereotype (fact) that most southerners in the us don't use the metric system, or don't even know it's the worldwide standard at least like most northerners
Even with power steering, that knob is really common and useful in these types of vehicles. It saves you from the constantly having to lift your hands off the steering wheel when you need to turn the wheel 2-3 times in one direction, which you have to do pretty often in some situations.
Clint is truly having the time of his life with this. It's adorable.
Reminds me of the time he tried to play Doom with a pool cue controller
Matt Alexander I will never get tired of seeing this man run Doom with weird peripherals
I mean didn’t he play racing games when he was little with a flight stick lol?
The level of ridiculousness in this video after about the half-way point is unprecedented, and I love every second of it.
the fact that he's enjoying himself so much with the farming makes me so happy lol xd
Your southern farmer accent is spot on! I love it! XD
Coming from a family of southern farmers, I'd hope so :D

That whole section was just awesome.

I love Clint's giddy laughter. You can tell how much he's really enjoying it.
Aw, Clint... You're like a child on christmas with this thing :') It makes me so happy
Its fun to watch you genuinely have fun! :)
i was thinking the exact same thing
That thing is cool but it looks INCREDIBLY cheap for 300$
he means it looks bad for that ammount of money compared to other products
Saitek overprices a lot of their stuff. My pro flight yoke was two hundred dollars or something and it needed so much end-user tweaking on the inside to actually make it feel good.
Dragaming its not only saitek its just another branding.. this wheel is on market from 4 diffrent brands xD
