Really glad I found your channel. I’m gonna start looking the various videos over as I’m semi restoring/rebuilding my 75 cb360.

    Good video as usual Brian...
I have a problem with my exact same clutch!
Every time I assemble and pull the clutch lever, it pops out of the holder with the three ball bearing in it...
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards David..

It’s a very touchy adjustment. I usually pop it a few times before I get it. Usually that pop means you’re too tight. It’s a sad sound. Loosen it up and try again. There’s a sweet spot. Unfortunately, not an easy way to do it.

@Keep On Wrenching I'm wondering whether my clutch cable has seen better days and I should replace...
It really is an absolute ass to get correct!

@@onemanhisdub1969 first time took my a dozen times. Lol. Cable length matters too. If your original is in good shape and not rusted up it should work. Try try again but I get the frustration!

Hello, thanks for the video, I am also restoring an SL350 K2, I just started, and I don't know how to remove the clutch cover, I still have the cable inside. Thanks to your video, I know the inner mechanism a little better and I think that pushing the adjustment screw, once the thread is removed of course, should free the inner mechanism and the cable. correct me if it is not correct. Thank you

You need to take the whole cover off. Not just the locking nut on the adjuster. It’s all integrated on the inside. You’ll never be able to get that cable off without removing the whole thing. Once you pop it off (4 JIS bolts) you’ll see it all and be able to do what you need to do.

@@KeepOnWrenching Thank you, shortly after your message I realized. Remove the bolts, nut and everything but it barely moves. I will try with small bibracioes below and above until it gives way. I wish I could send you a picture.

What did you use to clean the clutch case?

Our clutch cover seems to be stuck. Any idea why it wouldn't just slide off after taking out all the screws?

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  Рік тому

One corner has a dowel. It gets pretty stuck there. If you scrape around with a thin knife or putty knife you’ll find it. Can be a real bugger.

We got it off!! Found out the easiest way was to tap on the lower clutch cable adjuster bolt from the other side with a long steel bar. Phewww!

My bike is the Hondamatic so it has an internal clutch inside the motor which I’m sure is way more complicated than your bike parts and I hope I never have to tear into that lol 😂

    • @KeepOnWrenching

I’m willing to bet that’s just a tad more complicated. :)

Informative but too much extra talk. Watch a common-motor video for an example. What you need to know and see, no more no less.

Fair enough. Glad you have cmc videos to enjoy. Appreciate the feedback.
