Back in the 'Good Old Days' I was born in 1964, so about 9 and 10 when this series was shown, I remember watching this episode. Gosh when drink driving was thought of as fine!
My dad would always drink and drive back then. He'd have a skin full too One night he went through a garden wall narrowly missing a group of people. Somehow he drove away before the cops came. His tyre blew out after a couple of miles so he dumped the car and made his way on foot. He only got done for leaving the scene of an accident not drink driving. He never drank and drove after that. He was a bit of an outlaw my dad just like Terry 😆 I forgot to add that he did this driving a 1962 yellow Cadillac with the big fins on tail lights. Not the easiest car to make a get away in 80s Manchester 😂
Who could write scripts like that today .? A wonderful take on the pretensions of someone with money for the first time in his life contrasted against a stark refusal of his best friend to abandon his working class origins with hilarious consequences.
@@mohammaddavoudian7897 This outline could easily secure backing from the BBC if it were to include a positive reference to gender neutrality or LGBT inclusion in a positive role, maybe the alpha male of this series could be a woman who is gender confused by her stereotypical working class background and yearns to expand into her true identification as a man, go with this and bang, funded by the BBC for a pilot and 6 episode series.

How does Terry know so much about Bob's driving lessons? In Strangers on a Train the first episode after spending five years in the army he is surprised that Bob has a car.

I think that's deliberate, as part of the character. He doesn't realize that he's getting some things wrong. Like at 1:11, his pronunciation of 'piquancy'.

Brilliant not surprised this comedy classic got nearly 21 million viewers in it's day 😂
Pretty poor really..considering there was only 3 channels.
What a fantastic series!
absolutely.
Best theme music to a sitcom ever.👍
always liked it, used to put it on the juke box way back in 70s.
It's even better if you hear the entire song rather than just the chorus.
I think it got into the top 40 around February 1973, yes a good theme tune.
I'd say it's up there but personally I think Cheers is the best theme song to a sitcom ever. Maybe this is the best British one.

Now they get pissed, get in the car, then use their mobile phones whilst driving.

Classic British comedy.🇬🇧👍
Keep coming back to this show ,a genuine classic.Has every one had a relationship like Bob and Terry?
Yes with a work colleague and we became known as Bob & Terry
21:54 Terry: There's nothing wrong with Collier 74! LOL
Grief! memory lane time, even the floral shirt lol
Bob sipping appreciatively!!!! 😂
Vastly better than the so called comedy that comes out of the woke, diversity obsessed BBC these days.
The original and best men behaving badly. Brilliant 👏👏👏
Bob was stubborn not giving a blood sample
Copper: "Blood or urine sir?"
Bob: "Just a cup of tea please"
😂
'Terry' is right about our American cops; I've paid a bribe or two in my day.
Absolute classic
Waited too Long for Terry to appear
Great episode 👍
That guy playing the sergeant was also a copper robins nest .
And he was in Rising Damp
And also the good life and porridge
he was in boys night in, storm in a tea chest, burke of the yard was also in george and mildred as a policeman same one
dads army as charles boyer
Great series good old days down the local boozer… Tony
The best
Scotch Harry was great in Minder
It's even got a head on it 🤣🤣
Likely lads is a full bodied red followed by double whisky or brandy.......mmmmmmmmm 😛🍷🥃
Bob Ferris; Randy from South Parks wine soul brother; It's Called A SMORGASVEIN!
Great
