I'm glad to enjoying in japan! FYI Ningyo-yaki has a sweat red beans paste in it. and kibi-dango is like a mochi but made by rice powder with soy bean powder.
I am hosting and guiding 4 american friends in March. I have been wondering where to take them and what to show them. This video helped me a lot. Thanks!
For Japanese people, sushi is just one of many Japanese foods. Ramen is one of the foods in the genre called Chinese food. There are countless types of Japanese food, and the food that is generally called Japanese food often refers to other foods. If you include small dishes, there may be thousands or even more than 10,000 types. Ramen and sushi are delicious, but most Japanese people eat other dishes as side dishes and rice as their staple food every day.In addition, there is a wide variety of delicious bread, pasta, soba, noodle dishes such as udon, and sweets.
Even if Ramen is obviously from China, its more Japanese than Chinese at this point. You will never find the quality of ramen bowls they make in Japan, in China today. Absolutely different dish.
Hey Troy, we stayed a total of 4 days before moving on to Lake Kawaguchiko (I’m working on that video now) and then further down into Japan. We didn’t use a JR pass for any of our trips since we had calculated it would be less expensive to buy individual train tickets for the duration of our 2 week stay
Hello, I'm Japanese. If you don't know where to go to a restaurant in Tokyo, you won't have to worry because the underground shopping mall at Tokyo Station is a restaurant area. There is also Yakiniku Like, a BBQ restaurant where you can eat casually by yourself, so you can eat without worrying about the people around you. For people who cannot eat pork for religious reasons, there is Genghis Khan, a lamb BBQ, and Yakitori, a dish where chicken is cut into small pieces and skewered and grilled. There are also soft drinks and juices available at pubs for people who can't drink alcohol, so you don't have to worry. There are probably not many vegetarian or vegan restaurants, so it's a good idea to check the internet beforehand.
Since ancient times, Japanese people have been taught that noodles other than pasta are best enjoyed by "slurping." Slurping allows you to enjoy the taste, smoothness, aroma, texture, and sound with all five senses. When wasabi gets into your nose, it tingles. This is because you sense the flavor of wasabi through your nose. It is said that slurping is important for soba noodles because the taste, flavor, texture, and texture when they pass through your throat change depending on the buckwheat flour used in each region. Therefore, from a Japanese perspective, it is unnatural to eat soba, udon, or ramen in silence without slurping. However, I know that in some foreign cultures, slurping is considered bad manners. Still, if you can slurp and enjoy your meal with all five senses, the Japanese people around you will be happy.
hmmm ... I would have visited Mitaka and Monzen Nakacho ... they are much nicer neighborhoods than Shibuya ... Yanaka Ginza is considered " traditional Tokyo " ... then too, Hama Rikyu Garden is beautiful and large,... during the miserable Tokyo Summer at least you can feel a sea breeze ...
@@julienbondy OK. I was just wondering. In Japan, dressing like that from June until now is tantamount to suicide. Please continue to have a safe and enjoyable trip. From Japan

Hey Chris thanks for watching. Although we enjoyed Ichiran, I understand your point. Could you please list some good non-touristy ramen shops? Maybe it will help anybody who reads this comment
Hello, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing ever before. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life. He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?
Thanks! As for Ichiran, we tried plenty more ramen shops on our trip and they were all amazing. While I’m sure Ichiran is somewhat of a “tourist trap” we still very much enjoyed the experience for our first ramen in Japan

Tokyo is a safe place because it's not a dangerous city like New York.

Well it's not safe because it's not a dangerous city. 🤣 It's safe because of the discipline of the people, laws, good economy, homogenous society etc.
