Hiya Andrew, sorry for the late reply sir - been kept busy by things not related to bikes - which suxxx! Hey, cheers for the watch of vid and comment mate. Glad I made someone smile with my bumblings. Have a cracka day champ. Cheers, Steve.
Gday Roxic. If my wimpy computer programmer hands can do this, anyone can! Btw, love your bikes blue colour scheme - real nice pearly undertone. Also, gotta get me a rear seat cover and belly pan like you have - they really cut nice lines on the bike. Cheers mate.
Thanks, lol I'm a woman, but it is hard to tell with my name. If you want you can have the rear cowl. Although its blue, you'd probably have to sand some and paint it to color match the bike. I took it off to travel with a tail bag and since I haven't used it. If you want, message me a PO Box or something and I'll mail it right over.
Roxic12 Wow. What a completely unexpected and generous offer Roxic. Good karma to you. I will private message you later and we can discuss. Ive used ebay and gumtree to sell unused items, so dont cheat yourself out of some cash mate. I even sold my old Aprlia RS250 on ebay for $3500! Talk soon. Cheers.
Stephen Moore You're very welcome! Thank you, Its no biggie for me at all, Even though I know you weren't asking for it, Id rather see it go to use b/c its just sitting in my closet. Thanks for the suggestion to sell online, I'm aware of trying to sell on the forums and craigslist. I'm just not interested in doing so. You seemed like a nice guy and more than anything I was grateful for the video. The thought just popped in my mind. Will look out for your message. Take Care.
+Roxic12 Hiya Roxic. Well, it took a while, but i finally cut together a vid of me spray painting the cowl - ua-cam.com/video/O-oZvxkhtXk/v-deo.html. I would be stoked if you checked it out some time. Its amature of course, but a bit of a laugh. Hope you're doing well. Cheers,Steve.
At 4:31 to fit the adaptor, lockwash and then screw into the handlebar ... It screws into that section inside the bar? On my street triple that section inside the bar has snapped in half with the heated grip cable still running through the centre.... Trying to fit new bar end mirrors now and it's a nightmare 😩
Roger Collins gday roger. Certainly do still have here, but will be selling soon as im heading overseas. Tax prohibits me taking her over unfortunately. Shizer!
Thanks for the video Stephen, very useful whilst fitting my own. You were right about those original mirrors being proper tough to remove. I think they had some oem threadlock in there!
Hi ImaginaryGarage, sorry for the late reply sir. Mate, I'm thankful it's not just me who had probs removing mirrors - was starting to get worried about my weedy computer programmer arms! Hey and thanks for the view, the vid does go on for a bit - my later vids cut to the point a bit quicker - learnt to be a bit more rutheless in my editing. Cheers.
ImaginaryGarage Hi IG. Yes sir, i certainly do continue to enjoy the triple. I use it daily to commute and as often as i can for a blast on weekend twisties. Yes, i will be posting further vids eventually - when i buy a bellypan i'll vid the installation. Ive go-pro taped a few weekend rides with mates too - just havent cut them together. Im a bit worried too that if i post a vid of us pushing hard the plod maybe able to nab me - im old - ill leave those crazy vids to the youngsters. Cheers mate.
hi steve, trying to do then same on my triple R, the left hand mirror retaining screw will not budge bit worried on the force i should use even after soaking in wd40 overnight, will try a bit more swearing, cheers for vid.
Gday John. Yeah, good luck on that one mate! 😀 Those b@stards don't want to budge do they! All i can suggest is getting some more leverage via a longer handle or some such. And yes, plenty more cursing will see you come good. All the best sir. 😀
@@stephenmoore8960 hi steve, managed to get the bolt out bloody great crack then out it came, thought i had snapped the bracket!!, some shite on the thread halfway down was the prob, regards from the u.k.
Not sure why you had such a hard time removing the stock mirrors, but then again mine is a US model. The entire mod took me 10 minutes to install, and that included tapping in the little plastic stop into the hole. They look great!
Roger Collins Hi Roge, the vids in super slow mo bro. At normal speed it causes mere mortals to seizure! Nah, in all seriousness and based on general consenus in the comments section, my 'Tonka tool set' wasn"t the appropriate choice of kit for the job! Who woulda thunk it. 😁 Ave a good one big fella. 😁
Hi Mr G. Yeah, I'm sure you can, just need the correct ones to fit your bike. 100% recommend - makes the bike look heaps better IMO. Good on ya. Cheers mate.
Gday Markus. Maaaaaaate, you gotta fit em bud, they look heaps better than the originals. If ya drop ya bike me finks the mirrors will be the least of ya worries chap. 😀😁😂
Stephen Moore Hi Stephen, I loved the vid and I laughed at your handiness ;) . I shouldn't laugh really because I'm as handy as a crocodile wearing boxing gloves. Nevertheless it was good to see that I'm not the only cursing wannabe mechanic on the planet. The bit with the plug was the master piece in my opinion, v funny. However, my question is; are those mirrors any good? And how much more space does it takes to squeeze yourself through traffic? I have my triple for two months now and the stock mirrors are doing my head in, all I can see are my wrists and lower arms. I am seriously considering those bar end ones. Greetzzzzzzzz
Pietro Bembo Mate, you're a champion, thanks for your comments. Please feel free to laugh away! :-) Too right, I shouldn't give up my day job in I.T. for a bike mechanic! Anyway, another chap on one of my other vids asked a similar question, here's my answer.."Gday VSA, the reasons i bought the mirrors were (a) styling and (b) so i could filter/lane split more easily. As you can see, they sit just a tiny further out than the width of the handle bars. Inner Sydney streets are narrow, so the gap between cars is narrow. I can filter until there's a wide truck in one of the lanes. So, yes, they are better to split. You will need to get used to looking down at them though when checking whats behind you. As i am a little cheeky and speed more than i should i look forward much more than at whats behind! ...."..so, I personally don't think the mirrors are a better means of seeing what's behind you. In fact they take some time to get used to looking down at. But they sure look "trick" I reckon and are easier to lane split with. To be 100% sure they're ok for you I'd try and find a dealer that has a bike with them on. I don't regret the purchase though. Cheers, Steve.
Stephen Moore I think that we could start a bike repair shop together just to leave people in a total state of envy as they feast there eyes on our technical skills :)) However thanks for the info, I agree that they look alright although a bit pricy ! ! Over here in England they are £85 a piece and that's a good reason to make sure that they are any good before you buy. The looking down into the mirror is not too much of an issue as I already have to do this with the stock ones. I am 6'1" and I don't seem to get them into a position where I don't have to look downwards to see anything at all ! ! Very frustrating a specially in heavy/quick traffic where you have to be fully concentrated on anticipating the behaviour of other road users ! ! I live in the London suburbs and commute daily to work with the bike (unless I have to go in high heels with nice make up on :) then I take the car) about 30 miles return journey. In the evening it can be quite dangerous but it is probably not as bad as your commute in sunny Sidney. I just noticed that you have put more of your magically handy work on video ! ! I'm burning to see how that went ! ! Greetzzzzzzzzzzz Peter
Pietro Bembo Gday Pietro. Yeah chap, I do about a 30 klm round trip too and from North Sydney where I work as a computer nerd. Im chuffed with how the mirrors work for this daily trip. Talking bout handy work, you may have seen a comment below from Roxic12. She was kind enough to send me her blue street trip seat cowl. Ive just spent all day sanding it back and spray painting it black. Vid posting next week if all goes well. Have a good weekend in London, Cheers.
Nice video. I just put mine on today and watched this afterwards. One of the blanking nubs is just slightly smaller than the other it seemed to me. i hammered it in with the proper tool though: the rubber handle of a screwdriver. As for orientation, i love the way they look in like that, but i turned mine out because i've seen enough of my elbows already. Do you find you can see well enough with them in?
TheMrBoyer Hi TMB. I must admit, in my normal commuting rider position i can't just look down at the mirrors and see safely what's behind. I do need to squeeze the elbow in a little and bend the neck just a tad. Nothing too uncomfortable and i guess it's become second nature to me now - i dont conciously feel myself straining to see in mirrors. I need the mirrors bent in so i can fit between traffic on these damn narrow Sydney lanes. Touch wood, ive never accidentally almost hit another vehicle changing lanes - i do however always head check, never just rely on my mirrors. Cheers, Steve.
Stephen Moore good stuff. Thanks for the reply! Can't wait until it's warm enough here to try mine out for myself. The pain of doing upgrades during the off season.
Nice idea Mudux. Ive seen some other bikes who have them set under bar and agree they look kinda bad ass. Im 39 now though and its enough of a struggle to bend my neck down too see em where they are now. However, Im gonna flip em and give it a try. Trick is to go faster than everyone else that u dont need to use the mirrors anyway!
Hi Stephen, I have been researching on a good bike to upgrade to from a Ninja 250, I have about 2 grand miles ride time, how is the Street Triple as far as mechanical issues ( all brands have one) ?
Hi Manny. I bought the bike right at the beginning of 2014. So its just over a year and a half old. Its just clicked 13,552klms. I mainly use it to get to work 5 days a week - 30klms return trip - 60klmh roads. I do the odd weekend twisty road 200klm blahhht. 1000klm service $365AU. 10,000klm service $965AU (inc new tyres). In this time she hasnt missed a beat. Nothing. Nada. Zero issues. I give her a decent zap now and then. First gear rev limiter zinging away at 100klms. No track days yet unfortunately. I bought brand new and i take care of how i ride and service. Touch wood, she runs well and no issues. Perhaps im just lucky, but no mechanical issues so far. Enjoy ya ride, my mate started on a 250 ninja - such good fun to ride. Nutt bag upgraded to a ZX14. Motha trucka that thing flies - scarrrrrryyyy fassssttttt!
+Stephen Moore ; Far out ! , Thank you sir, I guess my upgrade from my Ninja 250 will be a STriple, funny I don';t even have one yet but I'm already checking out that SC project install video you have, that is the first upgrade I have planned. thanks again.

I hear triumph may be releasing an 800cc striple soon which would be awesome to maybr hold off for. Good look bro.
My 1st two bikes were Ninja 250s :-) then a Fz6r , then Street Triple (totaled, a teenager pulled over in front of me), then Boneville SE, and few weeks ago bought a brand new ST with ABS. Agree with Stephen, Triumph are great bikes. Just give proper service and you'll be ok. The minor issue I have with the ST is that the seat is uncomfortable after 30 min ride but there are plenty of upgrades out there for that.
