    I did this mod yesterday, and this video helped a lot, thanks. One extra tip, at first, I thought something was different about my bike (an Rx) as the hanging bracket did not line up. It turned out that there's some sort of sealing ring on the downpipe that looked at first as if it was a fixed part of that pipe, and couldn't be moved, and prevents the slip on slipping on far enough to align the hanging bracket. I then realised this ring around the downpipe slides off, and I was then able to slide along the slip on far enough to align the hanging bracket. Thanks again for the video.

      +Nigel Street Thanks duder, I had the exact same issue mounting mine on my 2015 Rx - I couldn't figure out why the rear mounting bracket wasn't lining up as if it wasn't going far enough onto the flange pipe. The part in question is the exhaust gasket and sleeve (part numbers T2202043 and T2202044). I probably would've spent an eternity trying to figure out that issue so cheers for the tip!

    This exhaust sounds amazing with the baffle out! I just bought myself a Street Triple R 2013 model a bit over a week ago, totally stock, except for tail tidy and triumph bar end mirrors. Been looking at the SC Project exhausts, they sound amazing! I believe the Conic version is on the cards. Cheers for the vid :)

      Gday Ben, mate it always makes me nervous when people act on what I've done hey! What i do know though is that im stoked with my choice and she always gets a head turn when i twist the throttle. Surely thats gotta mean its safer to ride with a louder pipe. If i had the cash i woulda prob bought the black version, but my misses wasnt having any of it, and i really do like the shiny stainless version actually. Thanks for the view and comment. cheers, steve.

    Hi Eduardo, for some reason i cant reply to you, but...
    Hiya,
    Gee, it was a while back now mate. My ageing(alcohol destroyed) brain can’t remember what I did yesterday! I’m pretty sure all I used was a spanner or two, a socket wrench, one of those screwdrivers that allows you to insert different bits in the head(this was a handy alternative to using a spanner, so I could get into tight places) and some allen/hex keys. You don’t need many tools and those that you need are common place in many a blokes garage. Cheers, Steve.

      Gday Freddy, yeah buddy, i believe it fits on all versions of the street triple mate, 2013 through 2016. Please double check on SC Projects website. But if my aging eyes dont deceive me i read that it fits base model, R and RX. Nice bike mate, the exhaust will do it proud. Cheers, Steve.

      Hi Orbi, mate - apologies for the late reply my man. Me and the misses relocated overseas back in 2018 and unfortunately finances got in the way and i had to sell my bike. My ageing memory is a little fuzzy - but i do recollect having a similar issue. I was able to remove the screw ok, but the db killer took a fair bit of yanking on with pliers to get it out. Hence, i did it once, blew my ears off and left it alone! I've been absolutely no help, but wish you all the best sir. Cheers.

    How easy is to live with the black colour on this bike? I am trying to decide on colour, and I am a bit worried that the black is a bit sensitive (easily scratches, hard to keep it clean)...

      @stephenmoore8960  8 років тому

      Hi Arthur. Firstly, and im biased, but the bike looks tops just after cleaned. Funnily enough though, she still looks good a little dirty. Kinda street bike tough if you will. The plastics are tough - no scratches yet. However my tank is scratched as i use a magnetic tank bag for work and also i think my belt has rubbed the tank too. Still though i cant complain about looks. I originally was gonna get white but my misses reckoned the black looked tougher. I couldnt argue with the boss! :-)

    • @stephenmoore8960
      @stephenmoore8960  9 років тому

      Gday Thomas. I am 99.9% sure you won't need to remove the belly pan when fitting ya slip on. I am not 100% because i dont have a belly pan(but want one). Looking at pics of where the pan sits and comparing it to where i removed the bracket i reckon u should be fine. Are you talking about 'zorstec' custom exhausts in the uk? They look expensive and very nice.

    • @stephenmoore8960
      @stephenmoore8960  9 років тому

      ***** Ta for the correction Phaneendra. I was positive just looking at the pics of where the belly pan sits on the 2013+ models that they wouldn't need to be removed based on where the slip on attaches. But, as is often the case with my girlfriend - I'm wrong yet again! :-) Yeah, also, I just realised 'zorst' is the shortened version of exhaust! I'm getting old!

  • @ConstellationX1
    @ConstellationX1 8 років тому

    Lovely! I've got a 2015 STR R, and really want this SC conic pipe on it. The dealer said they are only authorized to swap the factory pipe with Arrow. I keep insisting on SC Project. They finally said ok, but NO remapping, or the importing agent who is also responsible for warranty will refuse to pay for any warranty issues (They'll know once they check the ECU). Dealer and the parent import company are separate businesses. The dealer said if I don't ride too fast (under 120km/h) I should have no issues with SC Conic without a remap. Does that make any sense to you? From what I've read you rode yours without a remap for a while. Were you ever told about any speed/rpm limit? Anything different at all pre-post remap? Is it common/acceptable to ride without a remap? Thanks Stephen!

    • @stephenmoore8960
      @stephenmoore8960  8 років тому

      Hey ConstellationX1. Mate, sorry about this late reply, my bad. This is the first I've heard about not riding over 120km/h if remap not done. I certainly rode over 120 before and after the remap without any issues at all. As I think you have read, shortly after the fit of exhaust I took the bike in for a service where they performed a remap - the bike for sure ran smoother after the service. How are you finding the exhaust? I put the baffle back in cause I have wimpy ears that were being destroyed on daily commute. Lastly, I don't think there is any issues at all riding without a remap cause I read numerous posts stating the triples ECU is smart enough to adapt itself to new pipes (dunno if this is true or not - but Google never lies right!). Cheers. Have a good one.

    • @ConstellationX1
      @ConstellationX1 8 років тому

      Hi Stephen,, yeah, I love it!!!! No baffle, ive been riding around the city lately. Anything more than 30 min would start getting annoying I think. So yeah, I cant remap it where I live, they wont let me, or the warranty might be void. Awesome pipe! Cheers!

      Hey Dan. Yeah mate, another youtuber had probs removing baffle too like me. Motha fkr is jammed in tight. I used pliers after removing nut. Just be careful not to scratch the baffle when u yank it out. After its been removed u can put it back and take it out easy. Ive put it back cause i use the bike daily to get to work and baffle in is loud and raspy enough for me. Kinda love just blahting the throttle here and there then replaying the noise in my helmet - yeah i still have mentality of 12 yr old!

    • @stephenmoore8960
      @stephenmoore8960  9 років тому

      Hi neeno,
      Apologies for this large response mate. I’ve ridden in black bike boots, brown leather work shoes and white basketball boots. No problems wearing any of them, either with the balls of my feet on the pegs or heel on pegs. The basketball shoes got a little dirty on the inside part - but that wasn’t caused by the pipe. I’ve had the pipe now for a few months. It’s loudness is easily bearable during my daily 30 min commute to work - it actually doesn’t sound that loud to me anymore. I recently went on a 500klm day trip. The noise did become noticeable, so I may put the baffle in next time I do these klm’s. My hands were “ringing/tingling” a bit too - but so were my mates on a CBR400. I’m pretty sure the pipe does send some vibration through the bike, and on occasion I have noticed a vibration through my right foot - but only at very specific “pitches/frequencies” of the exhaust note. My only issue would be that even taking off calmly at low rev’s it does sound like your being aggressive - which can provoke sports car drivers to perhaps try and race. A twist of the wrist see’s those bozo’s sucking egg’s in ya rear view mirror though. I gotta stop thinking I need to prove myself or bye bye licence!

      @stephenmoore8960  9 років тому +1

      Hi Ryan. My 10k service came up just weeks after i installed the exhaust. They hooked up to the ECU and remapped it as part of the service. Not sure what map they used though - the mechanics hopefully know there stuff so i left em to it. Couldnt really tell much diff between before the remap and after though. Apparently the ECU is smart and can adapt to whats on the bike. Plus theres something called a 12 minute tune that forces the bike to readjust - google this if you can, dunno how true it is though. Anyway, Matt from SC assured me it is not imperative to get a remap. Cheers, Steve.

      SELECT bike.striple, zaust.sc proj
      FROM bike
      INNER JOIN zaust
      ON bike.conic=zaust.conic
      ORDER BY bike.striple;
      ..thats gotta work right?

      +sql-lover I took my girlfriend into the bike shop. As soon as she saw the Bonneville she said "why didnt you get that?" - instead of the striple. The level rear seat on the Bonneville is much more appealing to passengers, shes only slowly getting used to the raised seat on the striple.

      hahaha... and she may be right (in terms of comfort) but is apple vs oranges. One is more a Standard type of bike, relax ride. The other one is also a Standard bike with a more sporty position and powerful engine. If I was a passenger, I would pick the Bonnie any day.
