Well dang. I’ve been waiting to see this video. After talking with you on the trail. I was really praying for you guys to get the big one up there. Tuff county in there. Steep and deep. Keep up the good work.
we were close. Opening day, someone beat us up there. The days after, it seemed that all the elk were on different ridges with steep/rocky drainages between them - it would take hours to get across. One instance, we were close to getting taking out by a rockslide. One of the rocks hit my son but the stock saved him. Gun was toast but his leg was just bruised.
If that rifle stock wasn't there, probably broken leg - no doubt. It wouldn't be good at all. No, public land. We were about 8 1/2 miles or so in the backcountry.
Great video of a real hunt. Good job!
Appreciate the comment. I really enjoyed making these videos. Wish we would have got some meat. We were close so many times.

It was nice meeting you. Y'a, so close...thanks.
I really enjoyed the video, crazy how that rifle snapped like a twig. You got to see lots of elk...was "the ridge too far" private land ?
