Idaho?
Yes
This could have been a 12 minute video. Hunting didn’t start until 21 minute mark.
Appreciate the feedback! I’ll try to streamline the next one.
It’s not actually connecting to a satellite it’s actually pointing you to a 3g tower lol don’t be fooled
Uhh, there are no cell towers in the interior of Alaska. This does work, even at the North Pole. Unless you want to pull some conspiracy bs.
Show proof
Nope. Not fooled. Satellite completely. I’ve been in the bushes and in the deepest canyons.
I’ve used it for the last 2 weeks out in the backcountry. Battery life seems to be like 3% reduced over 15 texts over 30 minutes. Been out hunting elk and deer….no cell service whatsoever.
NGL not too upset there aren't too many large predators where I hunt down here in Missouri.
makes it interesting when there is... :-)
Yea stop in the middle of the fucking road
who, the bears or people? If the people, you have to be careful not to run them over. Plus they liked to be filmed.
They could have went the bear was way out of there path
@@DarenPatton-y5d y'a true ...but wanted to watch the little munchkins.
Every mother ever.
yep...lol. Little munchkins playing in traffic while mamma wants them to get out of the street.
please subscribe if you haven't already...merci.
Children, please come over here,
please subscribe if you haven't already...merci.
Smokey (the family years)
Aww ❤❤
they are so tiny - little munchkins.
please subscribe if you haven't already...merci.
Mama keeping her lil ones in line. I'd be afraid of your mama too😂😂
Y’a don’t get out of your car.
please subscribe if you haven't already...merci.
Yellowstone?
BC, Canada. My sister filmed them a few days ago.
@@ruralroute1 pretty cool!
Omg i want one 😢😂
They are cool little ones.
No u don't. Good lord don't be a "touronsofyellowstone"
@@erikaLS305 lol. y’a definitely not getting out. Tear you apart, as you know.

Did it kill the battery faster while connected to sat?
No. I used it for about 4 hours and it took about 5%. I do have a new iPhone 15. Not sure about older phones on how they would perform. When it was on, leaving my text app open, I would receive texts whenever they came in. Meaning, when the phone found the satellite. It also worked on airplane mode.
Now , If I was out hunting, I would just make sure the my texting app was closed and only connect when I want to text or receive messages. Kinda like when I used my garmin inreach. Only turn it on when I wanted to get and receive messages - to save battery.
I actually got rid of my InReach because of this feature. See how it goes but so far, it’s been great.
Is there fee for using the satellite text?
That's amazing man, total gamechanger if you don't have to worry about packing, charging, and paying for the inreach. I wish Samsung had this feature.
You need to have blaze orange when hunting with rifle on public land
not in idaho. But yes, in other states you are required.
Maybe she fell in with the herd when she was a calf hahaha
Y'a, it was weird. Watched these deer with the elk for 15 minutes. The elk (just) keep hanging around them and finally walking with them.
Is some tiny shafted hunter
Ya maybe. Feel sorry for the elk to live like that.
@@ruralroute1 If it was a close shot , you could say yeah , he missed , but shooting an animal in the ass is a shot you should have never taken
@@denniswallace4868 oh y’a agree. An elk we took 2 years ago had 2 broad heads lodged in it - one in the back and the other in front quarter.
What the fk is wrong w u ?
you don't like baby deer? are you not nice to wildlife?
Of the things I'd do if I won the lottery, a sheep hunt is right up near the top of the list. Right after paying off the farm and fixing the truck.
Ain’t that the truth. It would be nice. In Idaho, we do have draws so hopefully one day win one
Great video guys. Full packs next time!
thanks. Y'a, it would be nice.
@@ruralroute1 we all have those trips but its great to get out.
The most peaceful challenge to a fight I've ever seen
lol he was like I know you just didn't......
I'm going camping in my Luxe Hercules this Saturday. It's supposed to be in the mid 20s.
you have a stove? did you already assemble it prior to going out?
I initially assembled myself, it was a difficult due to trying to figure out which pole goes into what slot. After figuring it out, I labeled it by putting numbers on the slots (on the tent)
I have been camping in my tent before. I also have a Winnerwell Nomad stove. I can't wait to Hunker Down this weekend!
y'a, those Winnerwell stoves are awesome. The one I have is the FastFold - quick and easy to set up. winnerwell.us/products/winnerwell-fastfold-titanium-tent-stove
Hey Terry! Great meeting you today. Thanks for taking time to chat!
Dittos. Nice to meet you today also.
Thanks to Bret for this amazing video and sharing it with us!
Lots of beautiful animals, I can only imagine the stories!
thanks. dittos.
Beautiful bear, nice hunt !
appreciate the comment.
I really enjoyed the video, crazy how that rifle snapped like a twig. You got to see lots of elk...was "the ridge too far" private land ?
If that rifle stock wasn't there, probably broken leg - no doubt. It wouldn't be good at all. No, public land. We were about 8 1/2 miles or so in the backcountry.
He needs to be groomed.
ya...it was muddy and they would sit on the dirt piles overlooking the sheep.
Wonder what is he eating?🤔
good snacks :-)
actually, I eat the stuff too. Crazy thing is, it is a good snack
Home boy has rabies put em dowb
lol...y'a, there was something definitely wrong with him/her. Probably all the plastic consumed.
Great video of a real hunt. Good job!
Appreciate the comment. I really enjoyed making these videos. Wish we would have got some meat. We were close so many times.
Treeeeemendous
glad we were there to help. Felt bad for those hunters.
Super cool actually 🎉
we decided to glass at that very spot and noticed below the stranded hunters (boat). Glad that another boat was near by. We yelled at them and pointed in the stranded hunter's direction for about 2 minutes. Finally, they figured it out and took their boat to them. Very happy we could help - they were happy for sure.
Well dang. I’ve been waiting to see this video. After talking with you on the trail. I was really praying for you guys to get the big one up there. Tuff county in there. Steep and deep. Keep up the good work.
we were close. Opening day, someone beat us up there. The days after, it seemed that all the elk were on different ridges with steep/rocky drainages between them - it would take hours to get across. One instance, we were close to getting taking out by a rockslide. One of the rocks hit my son but the stock saved him. Gun was toast but his leg was just bruised.
It was nice meeting you. Y'a, so close...thanks.
Camping.. it's a technique in the sport, but not a place to relax or feel safe.
agreed. Some hunters, while they were sleeping, had their tent surrounded by wolves. They woke up the next morning only to see tracks in the snow all around their tent.
if you haven't already subscribed, please do so...appreciate it.
Looks really far
ya...it was far...that is why it sucked.....a bit too far to get them.
@@ruralroute1 oh ya I wouldn’t shoot that far either
What were they about 1500 2000 yards way?
yep...1650. There was a big creek between us and them. Probably take 4 hours to get there. There was 5+ bulls in that group.
@@ruralroute1 what was u shooting? 700, or 300winmag or! 6.5??
@@ruralroute1 I got some 170 to 200+ in white tail here where I am! Look like stags? I got 170 in Pope and Young! 22 point Better luck next time!
@@KYWildcat-qe7gn 300 win mag and 300 prc
@@ruralroute1 you ought to try a 7 mm 08! Good long distance round!
Beautiful bugga! Healthy Mouflon Hybrid. Pure Mouflon don't have wool
thanks. appreciate the comment.
My favorite kind of terrain to hunt in. Greetings from Alberta !
thanks..Right back at y'a. My aunt hunts a lot of wolves - baiting.
"You ca shoot through the brush" haha, got a little wound up!
Lol. Y’a true.
Meat in your freezer, man! Good job!
thanks...yep more meat for sure. Pretty much all gone - need more. We have many hunts coming up - bear, deer, elk (hopefully 3 videos) and of course wolf. Always watching out for wolves. 🙂
@ruralroute1 I need to retire, move back to Wa, sit at the folks' place, watch everything walk through the yard, blam-o!
@@williamweiss6128 maybe too easy lol? ...but it would be nice to have that.
"That's a long one!" That's what she said.
Lol.
#huntquietly
Thanks
DFD land no doubt. Blocking back roads all over the west. Should tear it down
funny you say that...there was an older fence that looked ripped down. Seems they put up another
Looks like awesome country out that way. I wish you the best of luck. Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)
Thanks. I’ll look u up
Also best of luck to you this season
Glad you're back Bro'!
thanks. Oh y'a, more videos to come....heading out again this weekend for scouting/hunting - bear/wolf and deer.
Camera guy needs to CHILL. Stop rushing the shooter thats how animals get wounded
yes, he can be very intense (sometimes) lol.
?
some turkeys we encountered during scouting/utv'ing/biking....they reminded me of baby raptors.
If it’s a public road it’s 100% illegal. It would be like gating off a river because you owned property on one side or the other. Just anti American leftists I’m sure. I’d put money on it.
agree. I called the forest service but they do not return my calls.
@@ruralroute1 typical tyrannical government response.
thanks for sharing. love that back country
Thanks for watching
