I saw this when it originally aired, and I was so happy to see Tom Petty at the same time so confused as to why he was there in the 1st place. Years later I met him and asked him, he said he was just helping out his friend.
I'm always baffled by thumbs down on things like this. I presume you'd have to be a fan to find it in the first place - and then to dislike it? Makes no kinda sense. Anyway, their loss - this is transcendent and fills me with a feeling there's no word for. Thank you for sharing it, much needed
I’m always baffled why people care about thumbs down on other peoples media content. Why do you care? It doesn’t affect you in the least. The “thumbs down” USED to be a useful metric to see if people liked a thing or not. But like the “5 star rating” it was REMOVED, because UA-cam has become a system of BOOTERISM. . .
I remember Wacko fondly. It seems impossible to find any video clips of it (other than this one). I remember something about a guy in a giant nose costume sneezing and then they'd cut to film of a hurricane or some such thing blowing things around like crazy. If anyone has a lead on any episodes, I'd be interested.
Bill was one of the best rock n roll guitarists to ever born. Such a shame very few people have ever heard of him. Dwight's music is great, but Bill was the very necessary icing on the cake.
Phil Seymour gives the loving looks to Dwight. Can't blame him! What a beautiful man. Actually they both were
Dwight kept the torch of power pop lit. Love him, Phil and of course Tom!
Twilley was severely underrated. "That I Remember" is one of my favorites off of "Twilley Don't Mind". Dwight's and Phil's harmonies are pure gold.
One of my favorites off Twilley Don't Mind. Those harmonies were just the best. The group was very much underrated.

RIP Dwight Twilley, such an under-appreciated musical trailblazer!

This is my favorite Twilley era (and Petty on bass!). Thanks for posting!
Music this good deserves to be heard by all. Thanks for doing your part in working towards that goal.
I wish Phil Seymour was still with us
Same with Petty.
@@toddsundell262 Same with Twilley now
This is amazing! Now, someone please get me the Wacko theme song. It's the only thing I remember from that show.
We're gonna miss you, Tom.
💞💞💞 love love love
How come this didn't chart? No justice. Also, I'm pretty sure the bass player was in an
another band. G.R.E.A.T.
And you know it!
R.I.P. Dwight Twiley.
First time I've seen Phil Seymour playing drums. Thanks for posting.
I wish I could get my hands on a copy of the Wacko episodes!
LOVE IT!! Cry when I listen and watch this. So darn beautiful...
I remember the Wacko show, LOL.... I used to watch it as a kid
I've been trying to find whole episodes of this show forever.
Same here. I would buy a box set like that.
Absolutely sweeps me away.
I remember this too.. Wacko and the Clown Doctor.. LOL
THANK YOU FOR THIS !
One of the best, ever..

Guest artist, friend, and label mate (Shelter), the late, great Tom Petty!
This whole time I assumed Dwight Twilley was a younger indie pop guy. From the 90's at the latest, had no idea he went back that far!
Bill Pitcock IV

Right on!
Tom Petty on Bass
Petty played quite a bit on the second album
Are there any more clips of Wacko online?
from Tulsa TEXAS .
Say what?!?
Like Big Star and Oister needed to join up some way...similar AM paths
well ya got the Tulsa part right
The last man standing here is Dwight Twilley.
Thanks for the music, Dwight.
Brill.
But Tom had a bit of a breakthrough hit "American Girl" which ranked rather low when it first came out the year prior.
Twilley has died at 72 years old. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_Twilley
Such a shame they didn’t hit it big. To me they were on par with The Raspberries.
That guitar player was a nerd but he sure was red hot
Those childish, goofy inserts distract from a great video
