I actually love how the opening stays the same but the ending changes. The opening song is made to give the vibe for the whole show overall so it stays the same. The ending song changes to the vibe of each arc specifically and those endings hit so hard because their vibe fits perfectly for what just happened in the episode you just finished. Especially when a more serious and somber arc starts and shit goes down, the ending song always hits hard when you finish each episode.

I don't know how many episodes you've already watched, but I highly recommend watching Episode 1 of the 1999 Hunter x Hunter anime. There's some content in there that was inexplicably cut from 2011 and it helps solidify Gon's character and his motives.

In the original japanese they use both male and female pronouns for Kurapika... But this was translated back when everyone hated the LGBTQ+ community so in the English version they only use male pronouns for them.

A Few Trivia bits about Hunter X Hunter: - The mangaka, Yoshihiro Togashi, is married with the mangaka of Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi - There was another HxH anime, the 2011 version you're watching is the most recent one. I'd argue that the 1999 version is a bit better in some aspects, though, as it has a better overall direction, even if it looks older (that's because it IS) - Hunter x Hunter takes heavy inspiration from JoJo. I feel like that's the kind of statement that kind piss off some people, but Togashi said it openly mutliple times, and it'ss very much obvious too when you've read both anyway. - The manga is known for huge hiatus (pauses in publication) that can take about 2 years, for the most recent one. then 10 chapters, then another break... (that's because of his health condition, the guy worked himself to the bone, this industry is killing its talents.) - He also wrote YuYu Hakusho before Hunter X Hunter - You don't know if Kurapika is male or female? ....Neither did the localization team! that's why you might find early dubs or subs that sometimes addresses this character as a boy or a girl randomly. But you know what's better? The animation team didn't know either! so they made the ccharacter sound and look a bit more feminine, just in case. (gender spoiler: it's NOT a boy. it's a MAN.) - The "X" is Silent. Also there's hunter twice because the author thought it looked cool. that's it. - There's a scene from the manga that was skipped in the first episode, where Gon his attacked by bears on his island as a child, and was saved by a hunter named Kaito. the studio chose to skip it because the character hadn't come back soon enough for them to worry about him at the time. But i feel like it's still better to know that scene from the beginning... (it was present in the 1999 episodes) - The manga is pretty damn good. That's a fact, so i had to list it.

I love Hunter x Hunter and I would love to watch you react to it for the first time, but the thing is I know you've seen the show before, not because you had a poster. In the original japanese they use both male and female pronouns for Kurapika... But this was translated back when everyone hated the LGBTQ+ community so in the English version they only use male pronouns for them.

I think the first arc or so? then fell off, but that's just because I have ADHD, I really enjoyed my time with this show. you're gonna love it, it's a really fun one. the whole main quartet is wonderful... actually I might've fallen off the wagon because it was stressing me out to worry about whether the characters would be okay or not, because I like them. ^_^; it's such an unfortunate reason... I should get back to it now that I've taken some time.

A Few Trivia bits about Hunter X Hunter:
- The mangaka, Yoshihiro Togashi, is married with the mangaka of Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi
- There was another HxH anime, the 2011 version you're watching is the most recent one. I'd argue that the 1999 version is a bit better in some aspects, though, as it has a better overall direction, even if it looks older (that's because it IS)
- Hunter x Hunter takes heavy inspiration from JoJo. I feel like that's the kind of statement that kind piss off some people, but Togashi said it openly mutliple times, and it'ss very much obvious too when you've read both anyway.
- The manga is known for huge hiatus (pauses in publication) that can take about 2 years, for the most recent one. then 10 chapters, then another break... (that's because of his health condition, the guy worked himself to the bone, this industry is killing its talents.)
- He also wrote YuYu Hakusho before Hunter X Hunter
- You don't know if Kurapika is male or female? ....Neither did the localization team! that's why you might find early dubs or subs that sometimes addresses this character as a boy or a girl randomly. But you know what's better? The animation team didn't know either! so they made the ccharacter sound and look a bit more feminine, just in case. (gender spoiler: it's NOT a boy. it's a MAN.)
- The "X" is Silent. Also there's hunter twice because the author thought it looked cool. that's it.
- There's a scene from the manga that was skipped in the first episode, where Gon his attacked by bears on his island as a child, and was saved by a hunter named Kaito. the studio chose to skip it because the character hadn't come back soon enough for them to worry about him at the time. But i feel like it's still better to know that scene from the beginning... (it was present in the 1999 episodes)
- The manga is pretty damn good. That's a fact, so i had to list it.
