Why put rockers before/after a manhole when it has a granular base? Rockers are to offer flexibly when drainage passes through a solid eg concrete structure (When you muck in the rat runs). Pointless on a manhole when surrounded by single?

Good point, it wasn't mentioned in this video but the inspection chamber base normally get concreted into position - hence the need for rocker pipes. As mentioned here ua-cam.com/video/FuNZxHKDdKY/v-deo.html
