    Ethan and Kat Pippitt are the proud owners of Standing Stone Kennels. They breed German Shorthaired pointers and train all types of dogs for the hunt and the home. Their training strategies are easy to follow and are flexible to meet the needs of individual dogs. They are avid outdoorsmen and when they aren't training dogs they spend their free time hunting all kinds of game across the United States.

    Wow, this video got a lot of negative comments...... must be an AWESOME place to hunt. Lol. Seriously though.... 30 million acres of public land to hunt in Montana is enough to go around.

    $30 a year for one state onX access or use the MT FWP Hunt Planner online mapping system for free like we locals do. If I'm going somewhere new I print out that block's info and map sheet- if a type 2 it has all the landowner contact info- no need to call FWP all the time. After all these years I have a folder full of sheets with my own notes added.

    Actually blown away with how easy the app is to use. Wish it was free, but oh well. Gonna make this next hunting season much easier than the last

    Thanks for the information. Is mid October a good time for hunting sharptail grouse or is there a better time to hunt them?

    Thanks.. I understand a lot more now.. Being from Mississippi I normally don’t use this app. We got drawn last year for antelope. The wife and I hunted only BLM because we didn’t know enough about the app and area..

    Have a question did you guys just go out to a town in Montana and there was lots of block management around to hunt or no?

    Poor etiquette, especially from a hunting kennel to blatantly hot spot.

      Literally we harvested one bird this whole trip! But showing how to hunt legally and gain appropriate permission is very important and there isn’t a lot of information out there! Especially for beginners looking to learn!

      Every year we go to Montana and see hundreds of hunters at hotel’s, restaurants and on the road. I think I actually ran into another hunter in the field once. So much property and every year the “hot spots” change. How many people do you really think are going to make the trip based on this video? My guess is very few if any

    Why don’t you talk about how to hunt in your neighborhood rather than trying to ruin the hunting where others live!

      I absolutely agree, as a resident of SE Montana Im saddened to see this. clearly he never intends on returning to this region. the amount of hunters I saw the past season was exponentially greater than 2 years ago

      @@FirePirate099 it's extremely shit, seeing it currently with rig after rig. there's non stop out of state trucks with upwards of 6 and more dogs. There are old guys staying for a month at a time and disrupting birds everyday. Spots that we've hunted for 8 to 10 years by ourselves are getting hit 3 or 4 times a week now.

    • @FirePirate099
      @FirePirate099 9 місяців тому

      @@acesonflush346 wow that’s not as bad as where I’m at. Anything public is hunted 4-5 times a day. I spoke with one guy who’s got 5 dogs and hunts daily. He’s staying at the local town park for free in his trailer. Buys all his food in North Dakota. He’s hunting/pressuring birds daily and not even helping out the local economy. Videos like this need to stop.

    This is poor taste whether you killed one or a hundred birds. This is someone’s favorite spot somewhere and to drop names then leave just to shoot a video is not the best look.
