YOU ARE RIGHT! I went about intermittent fasting and doing HIIT while fasted, hoping to lose my belly fat fast. But what happened was that I lost so much muscle that i found it painful to sit or walk and even my heart got weak and I developed this serious condition called AFIB. One has to be very careful. I did not know that the body could react so drastically. I was fooled by people who said that our body was intelligent. It would not touch muscle as long as visceral and other fat was available. My body is, obviously, very foolish as there was plenty of belly fat sitting pretty, when it chose to go for my muscles!
Don't get put off by the naysayers who jump to conclusions without really understanding what you are saying. Let them take it or leave it. I have suffered the consequences of what you are warning against. I neglected to eat enough protein because I thought it would turn into more fat. Our body is very tricky and we should know what we are doing with it and what we feed it. Very important. Thank you for your videos!
A lot of good infos here. I've been doing IF for almost 2 years with amazing effect but i now agree with you on acheiving enough protien. Any advice on safe protien supplementation that will not result in accumulating body fat? Thanks
If you’re lacking in protein, then adding it in a way that will not increase your total calories (so increasing the percentage of protein in your total calories) is a good way to think about it! There’s no doubt you get a ton of benefits from fasting, but if you’re a healthy person (not insulin resistant and not overweight) then I don’t think it is necessary. Good luck!
I hope you receive very little views so that people don't get misled with your theory. I have been practicing it for 4 months and i have never had any better results.
4 months isn’t that long but best of luck with your diet! Everything I mentioned is supported by the data I provided so if you want to look into it more, you can look at the articles I provided in the description.
Same here! I absolutely love IF! I could read all these articles and then find 10 more that say the exact opposite. The internet is truly a virus on mankind. Trust yourself and good luck with your health journey!
You don’t want to exceed the metabolizable fraction of protein at any given time. Your muscle only has a window of about 25-60 grams of protein it can use at any given time so it’s better to spread it out - according to protein expert Don Layman. I think you might be able to make it work fine with just 3 meals depending on protein quality!
Its one more fad. I never had to do it to lose weight. My parents have bad digestive issues all their life.. they cannot do something like this. I don’t understand how these people fast without too much acid production in their stomach. I wake up hungry and need to eat immediately. If I don’t I will get headaches because of acidity. What I do is eat healthy and on time. Then you don’t need to follow any such fads.
The amount of protein you get when intermittent fasting is the amount that you consume outside your fasting window.. your point is completely mute unless you're specifically talking about vegetarians and vegans who are already on a deficient diet.
That is exactly my point. I think fasting is great for someone who is overweight and insulin resistant. But in healthy people, the reduction in protein you get is doing more harm than good because of the loss of lean mass.
@@AmanpreetSinghDDS You can get all the protein you need from fatty meat when intermittent fasting to maintain mass and stay healthy. Protein is an emergency energy source, the body prefers to use it for building and repairs. If you are getting enough calories and enough bioavailable protein then all is good. I definately see your point on regular long fasting as I would think you would require a period of gorging to catch up.. remaining in ketosis and eating high fat and protien foods would likely be the only way to rule out varialbles that could inhibit your body ability to restore itseld to a good baseline quickly.
Thank you for sharing your wealth of information. The video cut off at the end. Would love to hear more!
Of course! Glad you liked it and more content will be coming 😊
