    Ginny is one of my absolute favorite final girls in all of horror. She is has a great sense of humor, she’s smart, and she’s also tough. She jokes around with Paul a lot early On in the movie and isn’t scared to give him shit. She has a degree is psychology and uses it in the final confrontation on Jason (who we know is mentally challenged) to sympathize with him and convince him that she really is actually his mother. Jason’s motivation for killing is established early on that he saw his mother get beheaded by Alice and is seeking revenge for that (sex doesn’t have anything to do with it). And Ginny fights back when she has too. She’s just about perfect as a final girl.
    I love these movies but it seems like maybe they aren’t your thing. You seem to get a little bit bored and missed some of the setup from earlier on in the movie.

    The reason why Ginny pretended to be Jason's mom is because it was established earlier in the movie that she was majoring in child psychology. This gets further emphasized in the bar scene when Ginny is trying to analyze the possibility that Jason never drowned, that he saw his mom get killed, and that he's been wandering in the woods ever since. She was the only one that sympathized for Jason to an extent because she could understand why (if he did, indeed, survive) he would want revenge. The whole "frightened retard" line that she gave suggests that Jason's mental capacity was stunted in his childhood, which is why she gambled on the chances that he would get confused enough to think that he was actually seeing his mother.

    A stupid FYI to add but since you said you wanted to know - when Ginny says she has something to say to Paul when they are starting to make out & Paul stops her - she wanted to tell him that it was her time of the month. That is why he wrote Beware of Bears on her mirror that she saw the morning after, which was the call back to Paul's speech to all the counselors regarding Camp Best Practices (keeping clean...). It is an over-complicated story point which means nothing in the end.

    If you're confused about how Jason is alive suddenly. That's because the movie studio rectoned his death from the first movie. Because in the original movie Friday the 13th. Jason Voorhees was writen as a dead character from the start. To serve as Mrs Voorhees motivation to go insane and start killing people only. He died in 1957 as a child in Crystal Lake as a child like his mother said. That is cannon that part at the end of the first movie with her being attacked in the boat was all in her head it was a dream or nightmare only. Like the cop said at the end of the movie. So the movie studio retconed Jason's death from the first movie in part 2. Basically to make a copycat Michael Myers like killer.
    For anyone what's to say I am wrong. Here is legal evidence and proof for you since there has been a ongoinig lawsuit for the rights to the. First movie Friday the 13th for years it was finally settled last year I believe in December. The judge ruled in favor of the screenplay writer for the movie. He got the rights to everything in that script that means the name Friday the 13th an Jason Voorhees. Literally anything that was said or seen in the first movie he owns the rights to it. All movie studio got was the rights to a image of a adult male in a hockey mask. Because they added it after the first movie but they lost the name. Jason Voorhees because the judge ruled they had no right to use that name past the first movie. Because they did not get permission from the original screenwriter of the first movie. So they had no right to use the name Jason Voorhees in part 2 and after. This is the legal evidence the movie studio retconed his death from the first movie.
    In part 2 not to mention that after telling the Campfire story. He says Jason died in 1957 then his mother went insane and killed people. Then she got killed end of story Tom Savini who did the practical effects for the first one. Wanted no part of this movie because he said Jason was never alive to begin with. He was never in the first movie to begin with so it would make no sense for him to be alive and in the second one. So thats why he turn down working on this movie an worked on the movie The Burning instead. Even the director of the first movie said it's stupid idea and makes no sense because Jason was never alive. To begin with he was wrten as motivation for his mother to go insane only an to start killing people only. How am I supposed to bring back someone who was never alive to begin with.
    Everything I've stated is fact if you don't like it too bad. Try doing some research if you disagree with me and you'll see I'm right.

      His name is Victor Miller.
      Miller leveraged the part of copyright law that allows authors to reclaim the rights to what they once created after waiting a statutory set period of time.
      Heirs of comic book creators are now attempting to do the same to Disney, although there are important differences given the Marvel comic books at issue were published before copyright law was changed in the mid-1970s and Friday the 13th came afterward.

      @@douglascampbell9809 Don't forget the screenplay writers for the first Predator movie have a lawsuit Under the same rule against Disney for the first Predator movie. Its literally the same situation thirty-plus years past they asked for the rights for their property back. That being the rights to the first Predator movie back. Disney is refusing to give it back now it's in the court system.
      But is funny anyway you brought up Disney because. They have a history of taking and using other people's ideas without permission. Like the movie The Lion King its odd that before that movie was made. There was a TV show in another country that head the same concept as The Lion King it is also odd the characters look the same to how odd . On UA-cam look up 10 times Disney ripped off other films.

      All these movies contradict themselves. His body was never recovered from the lake....It could be explained that Jason was pulled from the water and abducted and abused for decades until adult Jason was able to escape and take his revenge. Sophomic writing could easily explain the 40 years of confusion by simple minded fans like yourself. In these horror franchises, something always it what is it.......Until it isn't in the next movie.....

    • @83shadow3
      @83shadow3 Рік тому

      @@travzimmerman1340 No you are wrong on Friday the 13th 40th Anniversary limited edition of the movie in the bonus features and audio commentary. The director clearly states when he was asked to work on part 2 he told the movie studio this. You do know that Jason was written as a dead character from the start right. To serve one purpose and one purpose only that is motivation for his mother to go insane and start killing people only. Jason was never alive to begin with Jason was never in the lake to begin with that was all one last jumpscare Only it was all in her head. So how am I supposed to bring back someone who was never alive in the first place. This is what Cunningham told the movie studio when they wanted him to work on part two. Then when they asked Tom Savini to work on part 2 he said Jason was never alive to begin with he was never in the movie to begin with. The end was one less jumpscare only Jason was never in the lake he was never in the movie. It was all in her head it was a dream or a nightmare so having Jason be alive and the killer in part 2 makes no sense and is stupid. Then on the Shout Factory collectors additional The Burning which was made and came out. The same time as Friday the 13th part 2 but Tom savini worked on that movie instead. In one of the bonus features he states why this is what he says right from the start his own words. Anyone that watches the Friday the 13th movies past the first movie are stupid. Because there is no Jason Voorhees the first movie made it perfectly clear he died in 1957 as a child. But people are still stupid enough to keep watching it they kill him in part 4 they put a machete through his head people are still stupid and keep watching it. There is no Jason Voorhees there was no Jason Voorhees he died in 1957 like his mother said in the first movie. This is two people that made the first movie Cunningham and Tom Savini they know what was in the script and it clearly stated he died in 1957. So all you're doing is floating a stupid movie Theory with nothing to back it up unlike me who's actually providing things you can look up and see them say it for themselves.
      Then I clearly stated the result of the lawsuit which is concrete law by a copyright judge. Victor Miller and created Jason Voorhees and his backstory as a dead character from the start. Because that's what's in the original screenplay for Friday the 13th the first movie. Victor Miller now has exclusive rights to everything in that screenplay including Jason Voorhees and his backstory. The movie studio and Cunningham lost rights to the name Jason Voorhees and his backstory because they did not create the name Jason Voorhees or backstory. The judge ruled that the movie studio illegally used the name Jason Voorhees and his backstory in Friday the 13th Part 2. Meaning they had no grounds they could not use it legally so they broke the law by using it in part 2 and afterwards. Because they only had permission to use the name Jason Voorhees and his backstory in the very first movie only. Meaning automatically it's not Jason Voorhees in part 2 because they had no legal grounds to use the name Jason Voorhees or his backstory. Because they only had permission to use it in Friday the 13th the first movie only. What part of that don't you understand them using Jason Voorhees name and backstory in part 2 why they no no by law.
      Because in Victor Miller script it clearly states Jason Voorhees died because his mother said my son died in 1957. Meaning she seen his dead body at some point to confirm his death. Also Cunningham and Tom Savini both clearly stated that Jason Voorhees was never in the lake. Then in part 4 I believe it has a news article that clearly has an article about Jason's death in 1957. So you are mistaken I'm actually providing you solid facts and evidence that the movie studio retconed Jason's death from the first movie in part 2 or changed. It by erasing his death in part 2 illegally by the court of law copyright law because they only had permission to use the name Jason Voorhees and his backstory in the first movie only.
      So anything afterwards is illegal therefore not canon so you can say any crazy movie Theory you want it's not going to erase the truth. Also side note on the Friday the 13th 40th anniversary limited edition in the bonus features. The late Betsy Palmer would say to people and they talked about Jason being alive in part 2 that's not my son that's not Jason. Because if Jason was alive Mrs Voorhees would be with her son. If he was missing going to your little thing she would be looking for her son. Instead of going around killing people setting fires Mrs Voorhees would b with her son or looking for him. Which automatically contradicts your statement because she would be looking for her son. Not setting fires and killing Camp counselors so your argument is automatically debunked right there. Because for only reason that she would go insane and start killing people for Revenge. Is if something made her go insane and gave her a motive for Revenge and that motive and Trigger was. Seeing her son's dead body in 1957 as Victor Miller wrote in the screenplay for Friday the 13th. When she said they were all busy getting it on as my son drowned to death and died in 1957. The the truck driver in the first movie says the boy died in 1957 referring to Jason's death so it's two people in this one movie stating he died. So it's clear Victor Miller wrote Jason as a dead character Jason was never alive. You have to forget any and all movies past the first movie they are not canon anymore. Because they illegally used the name Jason Voorhees with out permission so that character is not Jason Voorhees. Because they had no permission to use that name or backstory. So they retcond or erase Jason's death from the first movie without permission in part 2. Then continue to use the name Jason Voorhees and his backstory without permission. So going back to what Tom Savini said and Cunningham in said Anniversary Edition. Victor Miller knowingly and willingly wrote Jason as a dead character from the start. To serve as motivation for his mother to go insane and start killing people only he was never alive he was never intended to be alive. The movie studio illegally used the name Jason Voorhees and his backstory in part 2 by erasing or Rectconing Jason Voorhees death from Friday the 13th.
      You are the one that's confused because I'm going from facts from people that work on the movie. I restated all of the facts for you again in Greater detail if you are still confused that's on you at this point it's clear as day. Two people Cunningham said Jason Voorhees was written as a dead character from the start he was never alive was never supposed to be alive. He was never in the lake he was never in the movie Tom Savini said the same thing. Jason was never alive he was never in the lake he was never in the movie. So you are saying you know more than the people that made the movie and actually read the script. Then proceeded to make the movie based on everything in the script that clearly stated Jason was dead he died in 1957. I like this movie I am a fan of this movie I got stuff I looked into it I did my research you are making sit up. I am also providing multiple times at this point where I got this information from get these versions look it up for yourself. Before saying someone is wrong and saying some random garbage that it's clearly wrong based on evidence from people that actually read the script before they made the movie. Because I think they know more than you do because they had to read the script and understand it before they made the movie. Whereas you are just someone that watched it I personally am going to The Experts that made it because they know it because they seen the script first hand. Where As You Are just someone that watched it. I am someone that watched it got the Friday the 13th 40th anniversary limited edition watched every single bonus feature listen to the audio commentaries. And got the knowledge I told which is the truth based on what they said when they. Were making the movie the bonus features and audio commentaries whore things made years after. So I'm going to experts the ones that made the movie then the legal stuff from the copyright judge in copyright law. So be careful in the future who you say is confused or wrong because I did my research clearly you did not. Basically if someone States a specific version like say Friday the 13th the 40th anniversary limited edition. That clearly means they did their research an alll you are doing is saying their wrong or confused and providing a random Theory with nothing to back it up.

      I wouldn't exactly say that just because Jason was already dead in the first one, it would not make sense for him to be alive in the second one. You just have to try to look at it from a slightly more open point of view. They never said in the first one that Jason never came back to life after he had died, only that he had died. I would look at it sort of like somebody saying I lost my finger in a construction accident and the person they're talking to looking at their hands and saying but you have all your fingers. The person never said that after they lost the finger in the construction accident that it wasn't reattached. That would just be an assumption you would make from a small factual statement. That would leave the final scene of Jason coming out of the water to be subject to an opinion of what it really was. Was it just a dream or a nightmare that she was having or was it a premonition?

    • @83shadow3
      @83shadow3 2 роки тому

      You are correct it makes no sense that Jason is alive because the movie studio. Retconed his death from the first movie it is 100% confirmed Jason Voorhees was written as a dead character from the start. To serve as motivation for Mrs Voorhees to go insane and starts killing people only. He was never alive to begin with here is proof and evidence of that.
      On the bonus features for the 40th anniversary limited edition of the Friday 13th movie. The ones that made the movie confirm Jason was written as a dead character from the start and was never in the first movie to begin with. The end was just a dream it was all in her head that never happened. They literally put it in just for one last jump-scare. When the movie studio approached the director of the first movie about having Jason as the killer in part 2. He said what are you talkin about Jason was never alive. He was written as a dead character from the start to serve as motivation for his mother to go insane and start killing people only. He was never alive to begin with so how am I supposed to bring back someone who was never alive. Then Tom Savini did not work on this movie because he also said. Jason was never alive to begin with he was not in the first movie to begin with. So why would he be in the second movie it makes no sense. So Tom Savini worked on the movie The Burning instead. Because they made Jason the killer in this movie and it made no sense to him.
      Now for the legal evidence in case you are not aware there was a ongoing lawsuit over rights to the first movie. For several years but it was finally settled last year in December I believe. The judge rules in favor of the original screenwriter for the first movie. That being Friday the 13th he got the rights to everything in the original script for screenplay. For the first movie so he got the right to the name Friday the 13th an Jason Voorhees. All the movie studio ended up with was the rights to is the image of a grown man in a hockey mask. Because they added it after the first movie but they lost the rights to the name Jason Voorhees. Because the judge ruled and this is a judge who knows the law when it comes to contract law. That the movie studio did not have permission to use the name Jason Voorhees past the first movie. So they had no right or permission to use the name Jason Voorhees in part 2 or in any other movie. Because they would have to get permission from the original screenwriter from the first movie to use that name. Because he originated and came up with that name. So they use the name of a character that he created without his permission.
      So all that proves the movie studio retcon Jason death from the first movie. Not to mention in part 4 it also States Jason Voorhees died in 1957 and the state declared him dead.

    • @83shadow3
      @83shadow3 2 роки тому

      @@tonycardone990 Sarry to burst your bubble but Jason Voorhees officially died in 1957 and in part 4 it says the state declared him dead. Also the director of the first movie also stated on a bonus feature on the 40th anniversary of the Friday the 13th. That Jason Voorhees was written as a
      dead character from the start. To serve as Mrs Voorhees motivation to go insane and just start killing people only. He was never alive to begin with and never in the first movie to begin with. The end with Jason popping out of the water at the end was literally just one last jump-scare. It was an is officially a dream or a nightmare. When the movie studio approached him about Jason being the killer in part 2. He told them all of that an sad how am I supposed to bring back someone who was never alive in the first place. So you should do some research before trying to correct somebody. That an legal battle over the rights to the first Friday the 13th movie that is finally over. Clearly Jason died in 1957 like his mother said in the first movie. Because the movie studio did not have permission or the right use the name Jason Voorhees past the first movie.
      So that means the movie studio retconed Jasons death from the first movie.
      What I'm stating is all sold facts with evidence to back it up. So its official the movie studio without permission retconed Jason death from the movie first movie. What you are say is a movie Theory with nothing to pack it up. I mean I could make a movie that says Jason has always been a alien from Mars. Would you believe that because it in a sequel to.
      To counter your little theory that Jason came back to life. If that was a case his mother wouldn't be going around killing people saying he was dead. So the fact she is clearly means she seen his dead body and he's buried someplace. Because if he wasn't Dead She would not have a motive to kill people and keep it closed to stop others from dying. So your own case is self-defeating. Because if he was alive she would be with her son or looking for him. Not killing people and setting fires and things. So the fact that she was killing people and setting fires and things to keep the camp closed. Clearly means she had solid concrete evidence her son was permanently dead.

    21:52 disturbing fact about the scene the girl was underaged when it was filmed and it was a unlucky coincidence
    And two injures I know happened to the Jason actor was when he hit the pitchfork through the door he injured his wrist and in the final fight they used a real machete and the final girl accidentally cut some of the actors finger so when he came back form the hospital shortly after they finished the scene but he had to wear a prosthetic to hide the injury
    So filming was a shit show and shit hit the fan when they probably realized all too late that the girl in the timestamp I put was underaged

    FYI, vcrs n 1980 were rare af, & cheapest ones carried a $1,000 price-tag! Cable tv started round '78 n Cali & took better part of a DECADE 2 spread across the country! Movies usually got a 4 to 6 wk run n theaters, & if u missed a movie, there was a 99% chance u'd never ever see it again!!! Most people had never seen a real full-length movie at home b4 unless u were rich or lucky 2 have a reel-to-reel film projector! Hence, the recap at the beginning!😌 ✌ ❤ 🚬

      Carrie played at this mall until 1979 and Star Wars played in our town until 1980. It was reduced to weekends daytime then when Empire Strikes Back came out, they played several months as a double feature every night. VCR's and movies were expensive, places would rent them out.

    As someone who saw 1st 3 n theaters when came out, 1st 2 were the best. 3 was made 4 3-D & is terrible! The rest r silly imo, but u have 2 watch them all at least once! Actually 4 is best after 2, then 💩!

    I imagine you get a lot of requests, so please no pressure. Have you considered watching The Descent? It’s a great horror and all female cast, which might be fitting for Womens History Month.

      Im glad you’re interested! A group of women go spelunking in these Apalachian caves and have a really fun time and nothing bad at all happens (maybe not that last part). It’s really well done. I know Rotten Tomatoes isn’t important or anything, but for some reference, it’s got an 86% on there.

    As far as the Friday films 2 and 3 were the best. 4 deserves honorable mention I suppose. After 4 they jumped the shark, mostly because Jason was no longer scary. Once the audience is going to the films to laugh, or worse even root for Jason all bets are off and it's over as far as quality goes. I don't mention the first Friday film simply because Jason obviously isn't in it, and I always considered it to be something all its own and set apart from the rest of the film series. Another interesting thing is that, while Jason and Freddy became almost cult heroes and fans actually rooted for them as their respective franchises went along due to arguably poor storylines and redundancy, no one rooted for Michael Myers in the Halloween films, no one that I ever saw anyway. I think that's a testament to why the Halloween film series, even the weaker films as they continued to milk the story line for money in the sequels, stand up better than the Friday the 13th or Nightmare On Elm St. films do. Michael always remained menacing, which is... or should be the whole point.

      Not at all. 2, 4, 6-8 are the best.
      1 just peaked people's interests. 3 added nothing new to the franchise. 5 nearly destroyed the franchise. 9 and 10 are a mess.
      Whether people root for a villain or not does not determine quality. Quality is determined by the writing and storytelling

    The reason why i think for the Recap stuff is because i think Friday the 13th 1&2 were spouse to be actually 1 whole movie to where it would go straight towards Jason being raised from the dead by his Mothers Curse the moment she Died and that is why i look at Friday The 13th Part 1 & Part 2 as the Friday The 13th's 4 hour (Zack Snyder JL vision)...but in Horror film wise

    • @williemakeit2346
      @williemakeit2346 Рік тому +1

      Nope. They never intended to make part 1 and 2 one movie. They worked on this sequel only after seeing how successful the first film was in the theaters. Also the minds behind the first film never intended on Jason becoming the killer, they were against it in fact. I’m glad they weren’t listened to!

    Thank you for commenting about Ginny’s sweater antics and not being impressed. People give her too much credit for it and use it to hold her up as this “ultimate” final girl. It’s really all they have, so I see why you’re getting a lot of hate.
