The guy more than likely got into a fight and the other person died a couple days after or something, he was probably convicted of manslaughter or something.
Usually it's like a street fight and someone hits their head on the curb or concrete, dies from the blunt force trauma, so I think you're on the money. Shit scared me off from ever getting in a fist fight in my early days, unless we were on grass or in a house or something. It's crazy how a simple scuffle could turn into you being a killer so fast.
