So many people think so negatively about couples who can be in the same room as each other without feeling the need to include each other in what they are doing. It okay to do your own thing and have your own interests. There's nothing wrong with spending time apart if it means spending your lives together.
Yabba, you're 100% right. You have to work on bettering yourself. I've been married and divorced, and broken hearted many times over. At some point, I started looking at myself and all my experiences in past relationships. I'm remarried now for going on 9 years to someone I've known for 16 years, and once upon a time ago thought I'd never have a chance with. But I probably wouldn't be where I am or have what I have if I didn't start with me first.
Agreed. People don’t understand that there should be three people in a relationship:
-you
-them
-you + them
Being your own person makes a healthy love more achievable.
Modern day feminists love to put all of this on men, but in reality, both men and women usually have plenty of work to do to understand the opposite sex better, and all of us probably need to work on that problem in order to have more functional relationships. I've heard your story so many times, from both men and women - if we keep failing in relationships, the common denominator is usually ourselves. Once we realize that, we have a chance to break out of the cycle and eventually find success.
