As a warriors fan, I will happily assert that any other year damn near that rockets team cruises to a championship similar to how the Celtics did this year. Like, they crushed basically everyone but us, cause we were the greatest team ever. That WCF was bigger than the real finals that year imo. To me, whoever won that was going to get the trophy. I remember still being terrified even while they were missing all those threes game 7. I vividly remember getting pissed at some of our turnovers and saying "FUCK, the rockets just want it more than us! This would set basketball back decades if we let this style of play win."

One of the things I like about convos like these is that when you adjust criteria, the list will look mad different. For example, if we were talking less about skill of the team and more about what they were able to do with what they had, there'd be more carry jobs at the top of the list and the 04 Pistons would be in S Tier. But because of the criteria set before the start, them being in B make sense

Kyrie didn’t have a great regular season in 2015-2016, but you have to remember he was coming off recovering from a kneecap fracture he suffered in the 2015 Finals. He just had to work his way back into game shape during the season, then turned up in the playoffs.

People forget how mickey the Bucks ring was. They got nonstop injury luck and were not dominant at all throughout the playoffs, going down 0-2 to the Suns and Nets. Also, how are the Bucks gonna be in the same tier as the 90s Bulls when Trae Young was giving them trouble?
2014 spurs need to go in S asap. They literally smoked the same heat by adding Kawhi and Danny Green and it was the biggest finals victory margin ever. They practically coasted the whole season and everyone was very confident that there would be a finals rematch even though they expected the heat to win.
That reminds me, 93 Bulls are better than 92 by metrics, Jordan and Pippen’s performances, level of comp, and roster. They gotta go up a tier.
2015 warriors won a mickey ring with a mickey roster and it was the perfect case of right place, right time because the league hadn’t yet seen or adjusted to their playstyle. Maybe this is personal, but Festus Ezeli, Mo Speights, Leandro Barbosa, old David West and David Lee are not moving me.
I’d also argue that 2016 Cavs should go in S and 2018 Warriors should go in A but that’s more debatable. I’d say S tier for Cavs because if the Warriors won, they would be in S tier no question. The Cavs won three straight games against an S caliber team including game 7 on their home floor. Lastly, the Warriors would not have won the Houston series if the rockets didn’t have a historic shooting collapse and if chris paul wasn’t made of glass bones. Houston didn’t even play that well beforehand and were still notably outperforming the Warriors through 5 games.
