    In Suriname 🇸🇷 we call bitter melon sopropo. It’s my favorite veggie! Never had it like this before, I’m gonna try it! Thanks for the recipe 🙌🏾🥳

    The liquid that you wasted in the sink is good medicine. If you can stomach to drink that liquid with little salt will do wonders for your body.

    In Bangladesh we cook similarly. Just use green chilli, onion,garlic and a touch of tumeric powder.

    Are there different curry powders from different regions? I have never seen cumin that dark and I’ve never seen or heard of the masala powder you used. I try to visit ethnic stores but I’ll keep looking. Thank you! I need to incorporate bitter melon to lower my A1C

    • @yammi_bulah
      @yammi_bulah 5 років тому +1

      That is roasted cumin (roasted geera). You can find that as well as amchar masala and curry powder in a west indian grocery store. Also your location plays heavily in having access to these products!

    • @gigispencer2136
      @gigispencer2136 5 років тому +1

      Yammi Bulah Thank you! I guess I’m going to have to drive into Los Angeles to find these things. I live inland in Southern California and I’ve never seen them at the ethnic stores I’ve visited and definitely not big box stores.

    • @caribbeanpot
      @caribbeanpot  5 років тому +3

      you make your own geera (roasted cumin). Get the seeds and put in a dry pan on a low heat. it will go dark. then ground.
