Na het succes van de '77 Modified O.D. en de '78 Distortion uit de Custom Badass-serie, besloot MXR de serie uit te breiden met deze stompbox, die uniek is vanwege zijn extreme veelzijdigheid. Hij heeft een gain-bereik van maar liefst 60dB. Daarnaast beschikt het effectpedaal over een speciaal getunede 3-bands EQ, waardoor bij iedere hoeveelheid gain de gewenste toon nauwkeurig ingesteld kan worden. Met de MXR M75 Super Badass Distortion ga je van een simpele clean boost naar een 70's rock-oversturing tot moderne 'scooped' metal-distortion en alles daar tussen!

I think this is the best sounding distortion mxr has put out so far. Very respectful of the guitar's tone. Very versatile.
Great demo, if you're looking to buy this, my opinion is that it's one of the most versatile distortion/drive/boost pedals I've ever come across. It can do it all.

This pedal can do it all. I personally like it around noon to 1 o clock. Sounds sooooo delicious. Sounds so badass through my AC30.

I just don't understand why people will demo a distortion pedal with the base tone slightly dirty? It should be a totally CLEAN base tone to get the true tone of the dam pedal. Rock on!
Probably because gain pedals like those based on Guvnor and Rat circuits sound best with an amp that is on the edge of breakup.
A lot of people use a slight crunch tone on an amp before the distortion pedal when they have access to more than one amp. It helps to let the harmomics sing out. But yes for most of us we have our clean amp and the the pedal provides any breakup.
Everything you play sound BADASS. I bought the cheapy Digitech Screamin Blues after your video - and its an awesome pedal.

I just bought this pedal. It has one of the most sensitive output knobs I have ever experienced. I got this to replace my MXR '78 custom badass distortion. It's far superior to that.
Stephen Arseneau a Guvnor is superior to a DS-1, which I think both the Super Badass and 78 distortion are respectively based on.

Another great and reasonably priced pedal. It’s a keeper.
I use this through a late '70's Fender Concert amp set on razor blade clean and a strat. I own 8 different distortion pedals and this one makes me want to sell all my others. Extremely versatile !

Great review. Great pedal, sounding very amp-like and minus the tendency to create oscillations other distortion pedals can produce at higher gain levels.

That's how these pedals should be run, just slightly breaking up on the bridge

US $300 ?? Why ? Laws of your country ? Here we only have to pay 60 % of the value of the product, in tax, so ask to write on delivery low values box , the pedal came as if it cost $ 20.00 , hahaha , but only this to make worthwhile .
yep we have limited access to $... so you have to make an online suscripcion to the goverment and they give you 300$ to buy online per year.... (so sad :S)

have you actually tried one? youtube sometimes distorts sound quite heavily.
will check that out mate. I've tried dozens of distortion stompboxes and the M75 does it for me so far
It's funny you mention the dark matter, I just got rid of it! a month ago It's a nice transparent overdrive, works great after a clean boost but the M75 is just more versatile IMO

This pedal does not blend well with other pedals, distortion is useless after 12, it has clarity and mids issue
