I hope you got the idea what I feel towards living in Asia. There are so many things to talk about, I just highlighted some of things that I enjoy (and just one that I don't really apprentice here). There are many other aspects of life that I couldn't mentioned in a short video, that is something to share with you in my future uploads. Thank you for staying with me ❤

There are always pros and cons no matter where you live as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. Cheaper is not always better but there's an option in life.
Because of the war and genocide, I had to leave Cambodia in 1979 and came to US and I'm very happy to call home for freedom and unlimited opportunities.
I took my early retirement to travel to see the world especially Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia as we still have some relatives there due to the war.
I like to visit these countries but not to live there. The US is more expensive of course but the living standards and social benefits are not even close to be compatible.
Again, be mindful and open minded of your surroundings. Peace ✌️

I've lived in Asia a decade. Same reasons as everyone. People are nicer, money waaay better than Europe and cheaper cost of living so save more. Specifically in Myanmar I feel more connected to the universe and all things spiritual. I miss East Europe so later I may just do like most and spend summers in Europe and most of the time here. For now I don't feel like going back to Europe as so many troubles in our part of the world. Asia is home. Like you I also speak Chinese which is super useful in Myanmar.

@@wasdq9748 I live in a small rural town in Southern Kentucky, we're overran by meth and other terrible drugs, people who feel they have no other recourse in life but to steal, to usually feed their addiction, an addiction that I want to assume they got because life is just rough anymore, we have inflation unlike anything we've seen in my life, thankfully I own my home no mortgage or I'd be in the streets too, because even in a town of 2,500 people you can't afford rent now on 1 job. most jobs pay $7.25 to a max of $12 if you go to the factories, life has changed in rural Kentucky, unless you're lucky to live in a gated community, our local Kroger and McDonald's has homeless every morning begging for money, and I won't make judgements on why they're having such a terrible time in life, because life is hard and judgement of the poor doesn't help me, we need to focus more on judging the mega-rich who never even pay taxes anymore, while our cities and even small towns are now crumbling

Wow, I won the postcard raffle! It must be my lucky day or week - so cool! 😎 It's only the 2nd time that I've won a raffle, ever, so it feels great. I'll email you my address shortly.
I hope you video your trips when you make those visa runs. I've visited mainland Asia several times and I like experiencing the differences in land border crossings. Cheers! Take care & safe travels.

I love Asian food (especially Thai) but when i've been there a while i reallly miss dairy products like milk, cheese and butter and also bread ....and the only way you can buy is them is to pay through the nose ....Eg a 250g wheel of Président Camembert cheese imported from from Europe which costs £2.60 ($3.25) here in England , costs £10 or $12.50 in Thailand and locally-produced cheese is quite frankly inedible and the milk tastes funny like it has been reconstituted from powdered milk

I live in the US. Despite what you may have heard about us I feel safe here. I can go for a walk at night without fear. I don't need to lock my door. Yes it is true there are more dangerous places but in most communities things are pretty good. And for medical emergencies this is a great place. If I need help emergency services are second to none. Response time in most places is really good. We spend tax money to have a robust police force, fire departments, and hospitals. Does it cost more? Yes, and more than it should. Is it worth it? Hell yeah. Medical emergency services have saved the lives of my friends and family members, where they would have died in Asia, without a doubt. Just my opinion.

Yep, I agree. So many people are quick to jump on the US is bad bandwagon, even when they’ve never been to really know. Like you, I feel safe where I live in the 4th largest city in the US. I even live in the city center. I love to travel and visit other places, and I’ve been to some of the most fabulous cities in the world, if going by popular opinion, but I still prefer the city I live in. It is home for me, for many reasons.

Agree. I see that a lot of the anti-U.S. comments are made by people who have never lived in -- or even visited-- the U.S. In addition to several years in Europe, I lived in Asia for almost 10 years (and loved every minute of it) and the students I met who would bad mouth the U.S. were mainly those who were denied a tourist or student visa and base their bias on that negative experience. From how he speaks English, I highly doubt he ever spent time in the U.S. For a worldly person, his clickbait title is rather irresponsible. He should only be comparing life in Asia to his life in Russia.

It's so amazingly beautiful all around. Unbelievable. I think I have to come somewhere there.
Absolutely the best trip of my life was Philippines - soo beautiful nature and people. ❤ I'll always cherish that memory - snorkling in clear waters, swimming in waterfalls, all the amazing bougainvilleas and other flowers, early morning walks on the beach, watching the fishermen at work, roosters crowing, dogs just laying under the moped car, butterfly sanctuary, chaotic market place, and the people - oh, the people. One more: Whitney Houston singing outside somewhere there (really a nighttime karaoke outside - they are unbelievably talented singers) while just swimming and listening to the gekkoes [tok-koe-tok-koe-tok-koe] on the walls..
Memorizing all that made me so terribly wanting to come back! ❤

I could 100% see myself moving to Da Lat (from the US) when I retire. A less hot, chill Vietnam vibe sounds f'n brilliant. Only worry is the food. In my experience Vietnam is not a very vegetarian friendly country. Even vegetable dishes usually contain fish sauce, no?

not "grass" -- you could say "herbs"/"basil" (because it looks like it's mostly the herb "basil" there) or maybe even "greens" but we say "greens" for things like lettuces, kale, chard, spinach, etc.

    • @NikiProshin

The greens with the soup looked like Thai basil, but sometimes called red basil due to stem color and might also be called Vietnamese basil in Vietnam.
Since all I really need is a small decent home w/ A/C, good Internet and convenient shopping/restaurants, I’ve considered some Asian countries for retirement (I’m in the US).

I lived i Korea and loved it. But that was back in the 70's and Korea was very different, still a little undeveloped and very traditional. I think saying Asia is not taking into consideration how different the countries are. Japan and Vietnam are very different for example. My friends tell me now I might like Vietnam better than Korea. Your Vietnam videos make me think maybe it's so.

@@justducky196 they are in certain areas of certain countries, but where most tourist or big cities it’s not a problem. They are usually found in mountainous village areas or in the Amazon jungle. What I am getting at is that there is very little chance you would be interested in spending time in the areas that the cartels are located in. It’s really no different than the US. Pick a major city, and even the popular cities people love to go as tourist have neighborhoods that have extremely high homicide rates, but you won’t be going to neighborhoods

    What you say is accurate.
I live in the Philippines. But before that, I spent 20 years in the USA.
Only visit the USA if you want to see the sights and be a tourist.
But to live there is expensive.
The entire place is designed to drain money from you in a thousand ways big and small.
Having a child there will cost you a fortune.
Getting a house there will open you up to a thousand little cuts.
Even apartments now cost a lot of money and they charge you for every little thing.
God forbid you keep a pet. They will want to make it as costly as possible to care for an animal.
I am an American, but I prefer to live/tour around in Asia.
As you said, wherever we are, we are HOME.
