I absolutely love the choice of colors with that deep dark shade of blue, the black crank set, and the wonderful stripped steel at the rear. The only thing that would make this possible any better would be to make it a fixed gear and remove those brakes 😏
I just finished rebuilding a 1996 Cannondale road. I was going to strip, paint and shine the project but it felt like I was just making it pretty for a bike thief. I used Plasti Dip and left the brakes and crank dirty but it rides like a thousand dollar bike 😊
So nice. Very pleasing result. Nothing beats the shower if sparks and smell of heated metal and grease. Pro-tip on cotters: use a screw press to push them out, or a small drift (not too small) to keep the "mushrooming" to a minimum. I f* hate cottered cranks, but they look so good, so I do my best to re-use them. I look forward to the day I toss them in the metal scrap bin.
Got the same bike from our uncle after he died and I made it like new. I only have changed wheels ( aluminium). I made it for the his memory and every time i am riding it I remember of him. You did the best you could do for this bike. I am sure it will last for another 50 years.
I'm planning to do this myself but I have two questions: How did you mount a ahead stem on a threaded fork? And where are these chain noises coming from?
13:30 your original brake calipers cleaned up nice, but... I would have bought some dual pivot calipers. Love the stopping power of dual piviot calipers.
@@robertcaldwell2994 this was the big unanswered question was chainline. I know those izumi chains are very noisy if the chainline is off. would seem to be a shame to make all that effort and not get that part right, maybe it was done somewhere just not shown in the video

Umm. I don’t think those pins were seized, rather you were beating them in?🤷🏻♂️
nice idea with polishing back triangle pipes
but the chain line is ok ? drive is noisy
Thumbs up for the effort in removing the crankset ..happened to me too lol
One word, BEAUTIFUL.
This is like a gameplay no commentary videos on YT. Already subscribed.
Love those Puchs. That’s one way to remove those cranks! 😆 Nice job.
Watching you beat the shit out of that old crankset really made my day 🔥🔥🔥
Hello and greetings from Germany! Thanks for this video and congrats to you, an amazing result 💪👍 take care and keep on going 🌞🍀
Super nice - well done!
I was really hoping for spring loaded worms to pop out of the crank after all that. 😂Bravo! 🎉
Your edits are much appreciated . I like your style.
I use to do it this way when I was a kid in the 70’s and 80’s, I didn’t know there were special tools for removing and installing bike parts
Beautifully done! 😎👍
Very nice looking bike and I appreciate the editing ! Couldn't help but notice that you flipped the headset bearings. Great job anyways !

Quedó muy bien. Mucha onda la bici. Copada 💪🏻. Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I just saw that crankset fucking up so hard and just thought: omg have fun with the button bracket aswell haha :D great job, looks awesome

Threaded to threadless stem adapter. Idk why he skipped that part lmao
@@artvandalay2736 just got one. And yeah, it works!
Another bike lives👍👍👍
For the clavette (key in english ?) instead of grinder hard try drill a hole in the clavette, it works. Thanks for the video, good work.

badass! keep em coming man, makes work better
Awesome build!
finally an old Puch! love the colour, great job! nice filming too!
It sounds like your chainline is off and/or your chain is too tight.
It was, my bad.
Great job. Such a good watch.
legend says it is still stuck
Another bike saved from the tip. Nice 👍
that is a freakin sexy bike, great choices.
14:46 you put that bearing upside down?
so rad !!! keeep them vids coming !!!!
Nice bike and work etc. But what is that sound?
The top bearing on the fork is bottom side up, istn't it?
Yes
2:45 ▶️
You probably already know this but channel lock pliers have proper leverage when flipped around the opposite way.
What kind of wheels are those? They look nice.
I like it. Well done! Who makes the brake levers? Those were a nice touch.
Fine job
Good job!

We have the same stand, big up
those types of crancks are always seized haha
Why is it so noisy...single speed should be smooth and quiet....
? Chain line out
I reckon that's the one following that makes all the noise
@@bikepackingadventure7913 bent chainring?
Chain making the noise is the best you guys are boys not man
Izumi chains fixed gear chain are known being a little loud. You either like it or you don’t
This is nice bike man
HI. VERY NICE VIDEO. CAN I ASK U WAHAT SIZE IS THIS FRAME AND HOW TO PICK THE RIGHT SIZE IF I'M 176 cm
nice work!
Metal grinders are awesome!
Sick bike
when wd-40 didn't worked now you know that it's not a fake-restoration :D
What the size of the square taper bottom bracket
That fork is not adequate for the that neck, u skipped that part on the video.
You live on a flat area, nice job!
Why is it skipped here which a-head adapter is used? what's going on there?
Damn dude, this started off so rough. >.
Does izumi chains always make that kind of noise?
yes
May I ask what is the size of Bottom Bracket that you used?
The frame on my Puch snapped when I did a bunny hop on it.
What is all that rattling noise about?
awesome, ty man, great job
Sick!
hello varnished steel does not rust?
Nice
is it too small for you?
Brits have their brakes on opposite of most op us..
There's no need for a tensioner?
which wheels do you use?
I pity this bike!! 😔
But in the end....👍😉
Why so noisy? Was it the carbon wheels?
What are you waiting for?
Love it..
Personally I would have kept the mudguards, but that's just me ...👍...
sick!!!
Where’s the 56cm frame???
19:38 chainline: OK
So that cra-cra noise where cam from? Bended chainring?
That noice because not greased chain?
And probably too tight.
Bad chain line. Went from 5 speed rear to single and didn't use spacers to true the chain line.
