  • In this video, I visit the Murray Morgan Bridge on the Tacoma waterfront and do an en plein air painting of the iconic bridge. I try using Multimedia Artboard's linen panel. I talk about and show my pleinair oil painting process.

Wow great perspective, love the architecture around Tacoma. I especially like the finished painting here. Great work!

Great work. I like your approach, and thanks for sharing. Question about the art board... Can you cut it down to a small size at will? How do you cut it?

Thank you for watching and for the feedback! You can cut it with a sharp utility knife- just use a metal ruler, be very careful of your fingers, and run the blade along the new edge over and over, scoring a little deeper each pass, until you get a nice clean cut all along

wht don't you use the no fume turpentine? or mineral spirits?

Thanks for watching out for your question. I do use gamsol, especially when there’s poor ventilation. However, I love the effects of real turpentine in the initial wash. I talk about it in some of my videos. It dries faster, flows differently, I like the effects. I’ve tried turpenoid, but I don’t find it behaves the same as real turpentine
