I love your instructions can’t stay caffeinated like I used to. Sure do miss all. those coffee breaks. Thais in a nursing home now and 😊 enjoy your instructions!
THANK YOU HAVE SOLVED MY PROBLEM, I WANTED TO MAKE A QUEEN SIZE, AND NOW I CAN, HAPPY HAPPY ME, AND YOU HAVE SUCH A PLEASING VOICE TO LISTEN TO, AND YOU HAVE GREAT INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS, YOU ARE THE BOMB, OLD FASHION, BUT I AM 70 LOL THANKS AGAIN YOU ARE JUST GREAT IN MY BOOK
Patricia Kinney, how did you figure out the center? or how many clusters? I would like to make a full size blanket but I am not understanding how to do the center .thanks for any help.
I love how you tell everybody about different dimensions on all crocheting and how you can make something bigger or smaller or that it's your choice. Yes somehow you explain things a lot better than some people. I am So thankful that I found you online too crochet because I am a beginner. Actually I started crocheting after fifteen years ago and stopped and picked it back up. Without this online, it would be very hard because I am much older and sometimes don't understand the books and directions. Thank you again for all your hard work and your funniness. Online makes it much easier to follow you.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your patient tutorials I am doing this particular pattern and I love it I absolutely love it I am a left-handed crocheter and I'm 76 years old so I do appreciate your patience thank you for all that you do for people and for your caring and sharing your talent!!!!!
Thank you This is something that I have been wanting to do for awhile but could not understand anyone else’s instructions. I just love all that you do. I already started my blanket and I got it right.
Here's what I did to make this how I wanted it. I chained in multiples of 2+ 4. Then I did the first set of DCs in the 4th chain from the hook, skipped one chain and did the next set of DCs in the next with no chains in between. For the corners, I only chained 1 between the sets of DCs. A lot less spaces between the sets of DCs for a tighter pattern. But thanks to this video I was able to figure out how to do that so thank you. You are a great teacher.
I have been trying the rectangle granny but I end up not happy, with your step by step tutorials I was able to make a perfect one. Now I can use up all my yarns and plan to make a queen size for my daughter. Thank you so much and more power
Have never attempted making a rectangle before and your tutorial was just perfect in the way you explained everything. Thank you, might be tempted into trying this but first I'm actually going to do your virus blankets as gifts for my parents. They've just totally redecorated and re carpeted their living room and need some softer decorative touches adding and I LOVED the way your blanket turned out x x x
I took up crocheting again after 30 years, and I have to say that you are the BEST teacher! I've already made 2 virus blankets and now I'm starting a third. A virus meets granny. I only wish I could share my pics. They turned out beautiful. I used as self striping yarn because I wasn't too confident on how to change yarn. None the less, it's gorgeous! Thanks Fiber Spider for the lessons! I look forward to the next!
Thank you for this video! I've been looking for a rectangle granny square pattern and just didn't think of youtube! Now I won't have to make 2 squares and sew them together any more! I love it!! Granny stitch is so relaxing for me when I just want to de-stress!
I started watching your tutorials last spring (2021) after learning basic stitches during the pandemic winter, and love your tutorials. I tried this one Memorial Day weekend and just didn't get it. So I saved it, went on to other tutorials and projects, and now, having come back to this tutorial at the end of September, I have to smile and say, "Easy peasy!!!" Thanks so much - this is perfect for making winter blankets for my three cats!
Thank you for a great tutorial. I’ve been wanting to learn a granny rectangle and I tried another video tutorial about a year ago and just couldn’t get it. You explained this so well 😊
Watched several videos on this topic but I had to search for Fiber Spider to see if I could get a clearer idea. Now to decide on colors. Thank you SO much!
Hi Craig, I'm so glad you did this rectangle❗I have a really nice book of , "99 granny square patterns" and I wanted to try the rectangle for a blanket. Well, I couldn't make any sense out of it and actually...I made a " reck & a tangle " out of it. But Thank Heavens ! You popped right up on my screen with exactly what I needed❤🎶 Now I can get started on my Granny Blanket‼️💫💞Yea❗🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🍀🍀🍀🎊🎊🎊🧨 Thanks Craig❗
I have been watching your videos for two years now (I think 😁) and you have taught me so much. The day I found you I was looking for a specific stitch on UA-cam. I found the stitch and on the same day I discovered the wonderful world of crochet on UA-cam. I have made several of your shawls, scarves and blankets. Right now I am making the Rectangular Granny. In fact I will be making 3 or 4 of them and in marching to my own bongos I am sewing in my yarn ends as I go so only one end to sew in at the finish!! Thank you for all the beautiful patterns and help some of which I didn't even know I needed!! I'm looking forward to many more projects.
I love the blanket I'm making... but a square isn't doing it. So I pop into youtube to look up Change granny from square to rectangle, and yes, FiberSpider has the video! I knew you would have it, you never let me down!! You are the easiest most relaxing person to learn from, I always come back!!
Thank you...again...for a clear, and easy to follow tutorial. I want to use this way of crocheting a Granny blanket for one if my five grandsons.. My bug goal for 2020, is to gift them all with a new blanket.. This one will be fun. I am doing a Granny Stripe for another one...purple, grey, and white... He loves it. Your tutorials are the best...💜
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was trying to find a use for the Caron Latte cakes that I bought. It turned out so beautiful, its so soft and cosy. My daughter loves it. Now I'm making a 2nd one for a friend. You're a genius Fiber!
This is nice to know. I am making a granny baby blanket and it is square because I didn't know you could make a granny rectangle. Next time I will try this because I would really rather have it rectangle. Thanks for the lesson !!! You're awesome !!! Easy Peasy Lemon Squeeze ... LOL !!! I love that !!!
I just subscribed! Thank you so much for this tutorial. My Momma taught me how to do a granny when I was little and for years it was all that I could do. I am a stronger knitter than crocheter which is why I turned to UA-cam and found an amazing community of crafters
The granny has long been one of my favorites here, in fact, I'm finishing up one now... which I'll show you once done. I used the modern granny this time and also did the rectangular shape with it. Granny is such a sweet old gal, I just love her no matter how you put her together! Thank you for all you do!
OMG! This is easy peasy just like you said! Thank you once again for a wonderful tutorial! I decided to make the longer version so I started with 24 plus 5 using premier’s sweet roll in the mulberry pop colorway. You’re simply fabulous fiber spider! From one of your spiderettes, thanks again
Oh yeh, I definitely love the granny stitch too. You're right....there are many, many different variations. I've made 7 granny blankets now and they're all very different!
I have tried this so many times and it never worked out. I see what I did wrong. Thank you for taking it slow so I could follow. I'm on the 2nd color and moving right along. I'll be watching your tutorials and listening to the stories.
So I know you posted this video awhile ago, but I was thinking of using my Herrschners Christmas Pastry Puff cakes in a rectangle granny throw and I knew your video would answer all my questions! You allow me to think outside the box while supplying the basic foundation concept clearly! And I can be as creative as I like with your instruction! Thank you for your willingness to share your amazing talent and happy holidays!
Thanks for this tutorial, I was not getting a nice looking start to a rectangular granny blanket and had almost given up the idea because it looked just wonky, however I tried it. Your way is symmetrical and also solves the colour changing tactics, so my grannies will please my symmetry loving parts inside :) in the future. Our fibre craft group collects squares to make lap blankets for a nursing home at the moment, so this will be incorporated into this project. I will ask for the end dimensions of the planned blankets, so I can make an example stashbuster, and see, what they think.
Thank you Craig for another helpful tutorial :) This will be my first rectangle granny...I do love a good granny! I make a lot of market bags and there's a little tip that I learned which I'm using with your tutorial. I personally dislike slip stitching across at the end, it creates a lumpy section that doesn't feel very nice. To avoid that, instead of chaining 2 or 3 at the end before you join, simply do a double crochet and join. this way you are placed right in the very centre of the gap just before the corner and just ch3 and do your cluster, then just continue on as needed. No lumpy bumpies ;)
Thank you so very much, love this pattern. I am making blankets for my 5 grandchildren. And was running out of time. Almost done with my first one. ❤️❤️❤️
Dear Fiber, I have never crocheted the granny blanket before now, and I’m not using the stash buster. Instead I’m using the Red Heart Ombré in the purple color way. Do you recommend using variegated yarn with this as well, perhaps after a determined number of rows? It’s beginning to sound good to me! Thanks for all your wonderful work. I loved this and ALL the other videos of yours I have watched. I am quite addicted to fiber arts in all their gorgeous forms, and for right now crochet is my fave! My Grandma Ada made a huge pineapple-lace tablecloth we used at my wedding reception over 50 years ago. I remember watching her twirl the thread magically, it seemed, into shapes of fruit caught in a web, not unlike the spider’s.
Love this project for a stash buster. That's my New Year's resolution, to use as much yarn from my stash! Doesn't keep me from purchasing more. LOL 💖 I'm hooked on Caron Cakes also. Thank you for the easy to follow video.
I found a variegated Red Heart yarn called Grape Fizz at Joanns to go with the Violet Ombré, also have another striped RH yarn in my stash called Parrot Stripe that will go. Today I managed to get a good start and love listening to music, Podcasts and Audiobooks while stitching. I don’t dare add a visual aspect to this as I’d be drawn away from the work too much. I still can’t crochet at all by “feel.”
Hello My Friend, The live show was such a wonderful experience last night. I've followed you from the beginning and it was great to be able to interact with you a bit, find out about you, ask questions. Looking forward to more live shows in the future. Blessings and much love to you and yours. 💜💜💜 Kathy B (fairylady0227)

I'm anxious to make a rectangle afhgan for our son's childhood fr,iend needing a kidney. I'm confused as to the starting chain of 4 plus 5. Your starting chain is 14 plus 5. I'm confused, should it be 12 plus 5? I love your channel and

The last granny stitch blanket I made was a square and I had been told that I should alternate the direction of my rows to keep the center from twisting. Is that something that would be necessary with a rectangle?
I see after 4 chains in the beginning. I mean 5 you did a 3 double chain and the same thing in the hump or bump. Oh whatever you want to call it now? Help! I want to make a granny rectangle blanket. I have 4 cakes of Yarn Bee SugarWheel in Blueberry Pie. What would you recommend my starting row be? I'd also like to have less space in between the clusters. Advice?
I love you! You always go a little farther than most. And just to let you know you make me laugh with some of the things you say! Love it

Hi! I'm making thos. I'm loving your videos!
This is fantastic!! Thanks for this video. I have always wanted a granny blanket but not a square one.

And with granny stitch it is mindless, most of the time. Just pay attention on your corners and it will work.
Great work here.
Me too i like the way you teach
I’m going to try it. Thank you!
Thanks for the video I got it figured out with your help
Love this pattern it works up so quickly! Definitely a great stash buster for sure! Thank you for taking the time to share!

Great model. Thank you very much 🌼🌼🌼
Do you do a virus blanket tutorial? I am struggling with where you start the new row!!
Bonnie Appleby, he does. Go to his channel and tap on the playlist tab, and scroll down.
This is a great pattern 😅
Good presentation
Sei bravissima..non capisco la lingua ma ho imparato guardandoti😋

That's great but am curious, how does this blanket feels on the skin?
I'm rather tenacious too! 😂
Intriguing... just finishing up a version of the drunken Granny, so perhaps I ought to do a more sober one!! 👍🧶
