The 2000’s era theme was my favourite growing up.

The insane thing is seeing how often the cast changes, but when you're watching you swear those characters were on it for ages - but they were only in one iteration of the opening.
I think when they change, its gradual and the old ones carry over the storyline and then the new ones become the "old" ones. It kind of gives continuity. The oldies do that. 😊
1:42 was the time I watched a Neighbours and is my favourite theme. Reminds me of being a kid!

2006 was when I started watching the show. I was 12 years old at the time and have been hooked ever since. I wish they still used Janine Maunder’s version. Hers is the best!
The first 3 theme songs was part of me watching it on Kenya's KTN channel.Very nostalgic 😊

I'm not ashamed of watching Neighbours. Was a staple necessaty being a teenager in the 90s..85-90 was probably the Ultimate years tbh.
1:43 is the one I remember from my childhood in 2006 on TV2. While I wasn't really into the show, I still know which theme song I heard. And it definitely wasn't any of the other ones. I honestly didn't even know there were other ones.

Toadie swinging that cricket bat at the end of the 90's intro is probably one of my earliest memories 😆

Cant beat the very 1st theam tune nice and happy and bouncy back in the late 80s when the story's were nice at simply still watch it every day the best soap
This is so bizarre. I haven't watched or thought about Neighbours in about twenty years but I recognise the faces and theme from 1:43 so clearly it's as though the actors had been in my life all that time. That whole opening must have been buried deep in my subconscious!
3:28 is the easiest on the ears and probably best overall.
The version with the tables of cake in the street is a wailing awful mess.

Yeah was the previous version used for last few years. Personally the current version is my least favourite along with 1:43 (reminds me of cheap crap)
Samuel Carr I still like the 1:43 version mostly because it’s nostalgic. But it definitely was a product of it’s time and it really suited the early-mid 2000s. But I agree 3:28 is the best version overall.
Majority of the old and new cast in nieghbours are born in the UK and Ireland and immigrated to Australia left the UK and reside in Australia as well as the convicts and 10 pound pommes from 1945 to 1972 can trace thier history back to the UK.
Early to mid 2000s theme is the best!! It’s the one I remember the most. I do quite like the one Bonnie Anderson sings though!
Bonnie is terrible at singing but at least they have stopped her from warbling in the middle of the program.
Suraj Quantum at least the theme song is slightly more upbeat than what she usually sings on Neighbours 😂

@@goldenharborstudios7180 that mash up they did for the finale was horrible and so amateurish..they put absolutely no effort or imagination into the final opening sequence or closing credits. I've seen better stuff fans put together on UA-cam.
It’s mental that when I listen to songs from yrs ago that takes me right back to the good old days but none more than the original theme of neighbours, wish I could go back & do it all again & not change a thing

This Monday Neighbours returns
ah yes I remember the days when I would play on my Nintendo ds while my households watches his show and I would always hear the theme song play as I was on my ds, particularly the version at 2:06.
I am 16 and I have been watching this show since I was 4 years old I started watching it w my mom when I was younger and now I’m addicted WATXHED it every single day since 2007
Anastasia That is how I started watching it. But a lot later. I drifted away from the show quite a lot but now I am sticking with it.

Slightly out of sequence but otherwise good. The second one was the original Channel 7 season and should have been played first. Janine Maunder version appeared twice, but don't mind that as she was the best version anyway.
It was on channel 5 in Britain on Monday the 1st It’s Gone
It started on BBC One in October 1986, from 2008 it moved to Channel 5. Now it’s finished.
Regretting not watching it now I feel sad when remembering it 😢😢
3:30 is the best in my opinion as its the theme i remember.
State of the final cast. It was like most of them were selected by looking through a modelling catalogue. Random groups of characters put together as well with barely any actual families which the success of the show was built on. It was basically an Aussie Hollyoaks in the end. Says it all that the final episode was built around classic characters with barely any inclusion at all for the current cast (apart from the old ones).
I love the first one my granddaughter loves neighbours soooo much and loves the songs like the first one

Ahh the middle one with the kapoors in is deadful (imo) but the rest are like listening to songs your parents played you as a child. Hope the new theme is a throwback in some way. Sax+ vibe + smiley happy song!

I watched this mini serries on Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia when I was a child in Indonesia.

I love the Barry Crocker and Greg Hind version so much

@@colliric Barry Crocker's version is iconic because it signified because the arrangement was kept nice and simple and couldn't sound anymore 80's at all. Greg Hind's version is the most i'm familiar with and the detailing is fantastic. The revised theme tunes over the years never matched the 1st 2.
Has anyone else noticed that one of theme tunes is missing or is it just me? The theme tune I’m talking about is the one that was used between January 1999 and December 2001 on Network 10 over in Australia and between March (or was it April?) 1999 and February 2002 on BBC One over here in the UK

I watched Neighbours from the start to after the new version! Such good memories of childhood. I was shocked by the rocky version, that was after the time I saw it! I’m glad it lasted for so long! Was way better than Home and Away!! 😂
Ah 1985 up to now it's been awesome! So many characters so many storylines and still going strong :) same with Home & Away :)
I’m from Canada and We only got a couple of seasons of “ Neighbours “ shown here 1999& 2000when Jesse Spencer was still on as Billy . Then the network pulled the show and never saw it again !! Now It’s on the internet because of some wonderful UK & Australian people uploading full eps in order and am not arching a Young Paul Robinson & Jim Robinson from the 1st years 80 s& 90s . Totally addicted to Neighbours !! ❤ LOVE IT!! 👍🏻👍🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊😊🇨🇦🇨🇦🔥🔥
I like the third fourth and sixth themes because they coincide with three of my favourite eras of Neighbours.
1.10 is my fave, the one from 1993-98. The newer ones are so generic and mellow.
Totally agree with you. It's very detailed and soundwise was ahead of it's time. I grew up to the sound of that one as well.
The show's final episode was great. A rarity for a TV to end with one of its better episodes.
I live in the States and wish I could watch this show for once.

Still haven't topped the original though. Complete with glorious shaky helicopter footage at the end. Almost makes me want to cry! And I hate how they've gutted most of the theme song in the end credits now :( The lyrics define the show - stop it!

i only started watching neighbours in the past 2 years but i have watch any episode i can online i find the 1985-2000 episodes are all online so are 2006-2010 and 2014-2020 but can never ind 2011-2012 and 201-2005 episodes
I can’t believe since 1985 so many people have lived i one street.
I know it's an old sitcom and things have to change but that first theme song was cool like that

Karl and Susan have been there for 26 years. Toadie 22 I think
Karl and Susan were 1994 26 years Toadie was 1995 25 years and Paul was in from 1985 to 1993 and then on from 2004

2nd, the one with the Timmons and the second to last one, are my favourites. This new one is awful 🙉😖. I mute or fast forward over it. Have been a life long, PROUD, card carrying member since the beginning. I remember, a group of us would go to a nearby friends house during school lunch break to watch it and always having to run back to school as it finished just as break was over 🤣🤣🤣. Also friends knew not to call me when it was on. And 🤭🤭🤭My son grew up knowing once he heard the theme tune, not to disturb mummy🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Have never missed an episode. It has made me laugh, cry and all the emotions In-between. Even tape it 3x a day (because you never know when you might have a power cut or there's going to be a programme schedule change. I also have a pen, fridge magnet and a signed postcard from Jackie, that a friend who went to Australia, got for me 😍😍😍.
And don't get me started about BBC not stumping up the cash to retain the programming rights (And, yes I did write in to complain & signed as many petitions I could find), because now we have to put up with bloody commercials 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. I do long for the days of 23 minutes of daily uninterrupted bliss.

So glad when filming starts again, in the UK we are on rations of two or three episodes a week. Maybe it is a good idea to take the Christmas break again, it will help the story lines as well, as they have been far fetched since you are writing more scripts now. I would sooner have the break, than the script writers running out of ideas, or silly story lines such as Fin, we all knew what was going to happen in the end, you could see it a mile off.

I like the theme song from the 230 mark the 2 min 30 sec mark that one is the best out of the themes . I also hope to catch the actress who played ivy on bold and beautiful so I can compare her neighbour's character to her bold charecter
