I saw a young black woman, in a DG in a predominantly white town. She seemed a little concerned, almost scared to even move, so i walked up to her, and said "are you new to the neighborhood "? And she said "yes ma'am i am, we just moved here" i said "well, my name is Jessie, and I'll be glad to show you around! We have a great community center with a walking track, and playground for the kids, all with security, and really nice restaurants, let me give you my number, I'll go anywhere with you and introduce you to everyone! You will love it here"! I just talked on hoping she would feel safe. She looked so relieved, and she said "my name is Tia, and thank you"! The cashier GLARED at me. So, I walked that entire store with her so she did not feel out of place. We talked, and laughed, and When we went to walk out, i turned to the cashier and i said "LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF ". she looked like i hit her with a book. 😂
How do you know it never happened ? Seems very plausible to me! Wasn't long ago white adults were stoning black kids for trying to get an education and that's recorded on tape ...so you can't refute that... those same adults probably still living and their kids that they thought how to live are probably your age.
So you are saying that in this almost quiet quant little town here in Georgia. This girl was WHAT?… Barnesville Ga. I live here in Ga and today what I see is so much mix relationships happening. People gone be people wherever you go. There are a lot of people claiming that she is lying. I am from Alabama, and I am a trucker, also Black. I can confirm that there are a lot of towns all over the southeast, that are stuck in the 50's and don't want to change. I go a lot of places that don't like my kind around. It doesn't bother me any, I've seen these type of people all of my life , the poorer they are, the worser they are. But these places definitely do exist.
Um, if I'm in freaking Oregon and saw a confederate flag in a window next to a house for sale maybe 2 miles from my apartment, then I know the south where it's their actual history has some dark things happening. Oregon is just very white and they want to adopt that stuff with no history of labor and wealth to even be bitter over. The biggest cities in the south I'm sure feel different and that's what most see. Those states are huge, those cities are not comparably. Lot of wooded, rural, closed of towns across the country, not just ugly electoral maps, but real attitudes.
There are areas in Ohio, where I am, and all over the country, that are sundown towns, or they have other restrictions, where black folx really have to be careful. Be careful going to, and thru. Be safe people.😮
I believe you because as a black woman i was raised i was born in the fifties in Alabama it was a very trying time in my life, i never met or known anyone of the opposite color that wasn't prejudice, we couldn't go into restaurants or same bathrooms or drink out of the fountains my mother worked herself to death at wte homes for crumbs of payments, she had numerous of jobs, even brought clothes to iron she woke us up to go to school, but we were sometimes be in bed when she came home, i wished that I'd been old enough to help her, i forgot couldn't drink out of the dame fountain, this was back in the fifties 😢😢
That's cruel. There is a difference between challenging your congregation to walk out in faith, and sending them somewhere completely unsafe. Traumatizing your youth should not be a practice of a loving church.

Who ever sent her there they knew just what they were doing.
Until the mid 80's the town I grew up in Alabama would close shops by noon on Thursday, that was the day they went to the slave auction! And even though they were no longer selling slaves in the 80's they still follow this practice!.. I grew up in Tuskegee, Alabama! Blessings Always!. ❤️🐝
They always send them to these places not so that they recruit people but so that they come back "stronger" and realize they're "blessed" back home. Have you ever wondered how many people they actually convert say in Sudan? Not many! Ever! , they traumatize them on purpose, they know what they're doing.
I have lived in Barnesville since 2009. I’m mixed white and black. The town is over half black. The schools maybe 75% black. I’ve seen 5-6 Confederate flags total since I’ve lived here. The only people that have ever called me the “n word” are other mixed people or black people. The Wednesday this is categorically false! I don’t want to minimize her struggle but it’s absolutely not like this.

Not necessarily if u know anything about Mormon history. They can be just as tone deaf as the rest of White America when it comes to racial biases & assumptions.
As a white JW (now ex) I've been shouted at, cursed at, called all kinds of mames, amd had guns pointed at me. That's because I was a trespasser, not because of how I looked and things I can't control. It didn't traumatize me. We were taught it was proof we were doing work sanctioned by God so it was seen as a badge of honor in our culture. If it was because of the color of my skin I can't imagine that I would ever be able to not carry that so deeply in my soul. It would have hurt and broken me on such an irreparable way. It makes me so sick to my stomach that she had this experience. I hope those people get their karma and thensome. I hope the ignorant person that sent her there faced tje comsequences of her torment. Sending much love. The world clearly doesn't have enough yet.
I am so very sorry you experienced this. I am from Georgia and it is shameful that people still treat others this way. My daughter's husband, who is black, came to my family reunion. My relatives live in the Appalachian mountains and are just regular country/mountain folk. Most of them were older, from another generation. But my family welcomed my son in law with open arms, treated him just like one of the family, like he is. They truly loved him. I dont know if it is because my family is cherokee indian and know what it like to be treated badly. Or if its just because of their good character or both. I realize not everyone in this state, or even in any other state for that matter, is not this way. I treat people how they deserve to be treated, no matter what color. Again, i am sorry they treated you like this. Much love from Georgia. Please know not everyone here is that way 🫶🏼
This happened to sisters in my mission. They were sent to Valentine Nebraska. Those poor sisters. I can't reason with why my mission president thought it was acceptable to send them there.
What a crock. He was either ignorant, un-Christlike, an unabashed misogynist....or all three. Maybe it was "payback" for having made advances and having been rejected. Maybe not.....Hmmm.

We talked, and laughed, and
When we went to walk out, i turned to the cashier and i said

I can confirm that there are a lot of towns all over the southeast, that are stuck in the 50's and don't want to change. I go a lot of places that don't like my kind around. It doesn't bother me any, I've seen these type of people all of my life , the poorer they are, the worser they are. But these places definitely do exist.
This girl is clearly upset. Why would anybody accuse her of lying?
Um, if I'm in freaking Oregon and saw a confederate flag in a window next to a house for sale maybe 2 miles from my apartment, then I know the south where it's their actual history has some dark things happening. Oregon is just very white and they want to adopt that stuff with no history of labor and wealth to even be bitter over. The biggest cities in the south I'm sure feel different and that's what most see. Those states are huge, those cities are not comparably.
