"You were my brother Anakin" hits way harder now.
Oof I thought and the said it now I'm crying
Thought the same thing too! Makes that much more impactful!😭😭😭
Yeah!!!!!!!
Really
Really
“Complimentary halves of a single warrior.”
Since they knew each other's fighting style so well, it makes perfect sense for their duel on Mustafar to have been so dramatic
And long
"Chancellor Palpatine, Sith Lords are OUR specialty."
lol 😂
lol 😂
Not only was their fighting styles near perfections of who they are, but also ObiWan and Anakin were the two Jedi that saw combat the most throughout the Clone Wars.
Fun Fact: Darth Bane’s fighting style is that of both Form 3 and 5 together. Pretty much both the master and apprentice combined to be nearly unbeatable.
I have been trying to figure out Darth Banes fighting style forever, alway's assumed Form 5 Djem So was in thier somewere, but this cleared it up thank you
@@andrewmcconnell-ns1lk You’re welcome. He had the best of both offense and defense in lightsaber combat, hence why rarely was ever beaten.
I would say the only better to Bane would to be Tulok Hord who never lost a fight and died only to treachery. Of course Grandmaster Luke also.
Low ground battlefield warrior teamed up with high ground specialist. Of course they’re unstoppable
6 never stood a chance against 7 8 9n
In short...
One was chaos, one was Order.
One Attacked, One Defended.
One was Brazen, One was Cautious.
Together they were the best of both.
I like to think if the 2 of them had gone to Palpatine's office together, Palpatine would have lost and possibly died that night given how well they worked together
It's just like I said before, Anakin is the sword. Obi wan is the shield.
That's such a good analogy! Stealing this 😊
Who cares what you said before?
@Orizzle1870 And why do you jump in if you don't care about what I said before
The real reason is because offscreen Anakin was known to throw sand at people's faces while Obi would jump from a high ledge and say "Hello there" which caused the enemy to be insanely confused and just walk away
False, Anakin would never agree to use sand as a weapon. It's too course and rough and would get everywhere before he could use it
@@lamiadominus997 Sounds something like a CIS agent would say
nice make up crap you got there...
@@anarchistbunny3339 its just a joke
@@Riley_Stormand it’s a great joke fuck yall 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s literally perfect
Anakin and obi wan were like nightwing and batman the new how each other would react on the battlefield
I was going to Batman & Jason Todd as Red Hood, but your example is better.
Nah no sir
They're more like Batman and Red Hood
I always liked that their Clones seemed to really respect them, since we know there were a lot of Jedi that treated them as nothing more but emotionless meatshields
I think that mutual respect allowed them to fight at an even higher efficiency
To add onto this, Asokha acted as a force multiplier for these 2 ...
In that she often snuck around the edge of the battlefield while Anakin and Obi-Wan were doing their thing, then she'd take out the enemy's comms or shields and thus enabling Anakin to create chaos among the enemy while Obi-Wan led the troops forward to capture ground!
It’s crazy that if they turned to the dark side became Sith Lord together they would be a threat to palpatine
They were already a threat to Palpatine. Maul was a good duelist, and Savage was okay, but they have nothing, and I mean nothing on Kenobi and Anakin. These two would hold their own against Sidious no question.
Anakin & Obi Wan trained together. They know each other’s moves & thoughts.
Ironically the two Jedi proved that combining their forms together is one of the best combination for them use
Then add Ahsoka into the mix.... No wonder "The hero with no fear" and "The negotiator" were given nicknames when no other Jedi to my knowledge during the conflict were given such an honour.
Plagues (can’t remember how to spell it atm) was known as “death plagues the wise” but he was also a sith so not really the same
In the Yoda Dark Rendezvous book, several padawans were discussing nicknames. Mace Windu was known as "too scary for a nickname"
@@joshuarobinson6011 I thought that was just a nickname Palpatine gave Plagueis to manipulate Anakin.
I’m glad you mentioned personalities because Obi-wan’s conservatism definitively clashed with Anakins brash nature. Obi-wan probably studied tactics and war fare more then Anakin or any other Jedi so he could lead and plan on the battlefield to the best he could
The Heros of the Republic. Chills. Love them both
Anakin’s style is so cool I prefer it to obi wans but them working together or a balance of both would be unbeatable. It just goes to show you how skilled Dooku was.
Dooku was also considered the best duelist in the galaxy at the time.
Best Star Wars Duo ever
So then my question is this: Since Palpatine was manipulating the whole war, were there any battles that the Republic was meant to lose that Anakin and Obi Wan Won? And if so, how did Palpatine react to them, as Sidious
There was a few that they won on they were supposed to lose
Palpatine’s whole idea didn’t rely on anakin. If something happened to him then he would think he isn’t a worthy apprentice. Anakin constantly impressed palpatine hence the constant interest especially when he saw how conflicted anakin was at the end of the war.
There was but there were gaps at times where Anakin or Obi-Wan or both also would relocate to a different mission on short notice based on orders from the council that Palpatine wouldn't have time to re-strategize or if he was able to it would be so short of a notice to separatist forces that any chance of reinforcing was moot. As large as Palpatine's info network and influence was during the war even he was spread thin. But 90% if the clone wars was one big chess match against himself and he made sure only trusted few ever knew he controlled every piece.
This is holocron worthy indeed I always wondered how their forms worked together and it is beautiful to hear the specifics I could never tell who was doing what
Anakin and Obi-Wan, the Hammer and Anvil tactic
I never noticed those subtle details during their fights in the movies.
Nice!
They are a powerful team on the battlefield l love these two characters
I like to think that Anakin and Obi-wan would have been able to defeat Sideous if they fought him together.
Having Obi Wan at his side he would've been able to defeat him. In the movies he approached sidious alone and even wanted to kill him at one point but gave in to sidious's manipulation and lies. If obi wan was there from the getgo he would've had his support and he most likely would've been snapped out of it if he was present. Make him realize that he was being lied to and that he wasn't telling the truth.
Post IH Anakin >>> Pre-order 66 sidious
So yea Anakin and obi-wan would win against sidious
another fun video, thank you!~
Before watching the video, im guessing Anakin's offensive style with Kenobi's defensive style worked well together.
Spot on as their respective forms, meant between the two they had a master of defence and offensive combat, which enable them enhance each others strengths and guard each others weaknesses. Making them a formidable and nearly unstoppable combat team on the battlefield during the clone wars.
Until they faced eachother on Mustufar 🌋
Anakin was the superior duelist BUT Obi Wan was more patient and experienced....
Remembering how he beat Maul.
- Turning his arrogance and blind rage against him!
True
@@Connor-of-Rivia
I say superior because Anakin was already strong before the darkside only fuelled his strength even further that would eventually overwhelm and defeat Obi Wan out in the open.
But being smarter, Obi Wan redirected their fight to the environment that suited him PERFECTLY.
How he beat Maul... by leaping over someone with the high ground?
@@mikeblair3499yes anakin basically is that one guy that wants to do a certain finish on someone like “hey im gonna beat you using the same maneuver you used to beat the sith” he wanted to do a dramatic finish in a fighting game
That was what Obi Wan was doing when he declared it over, that he had the high ground, it worked, telling the chosen one they lost. As a duelist I can safely say the high ground is not the advantage position in close quarters combat.
An almost perfect combat gestalt that all true warriors strive to achieve with their battle buddies.
Great Video. This point of view is many times under seen. The video says almost all (I would like to watch a part 2), but let me stress what you also mentioned in my phrasing: no other master/padawan or other jedi duo trained so much as Anakin and Kenobi together, by far - they trained again and again when other jedi just let themselves lag way behind, reason why they know each other so well and why they fight as one dual sided entity in combat. Also the reason, even if not all - Anakin was more unbalanced, Kenobi less powerful but focused - why the Mustafar duel was so balanced between the two, but here I digress, it's juice for another video. It's also said (can't remember where I read this but I did, that Kenobi reached a peak as duelist and even with his conenction with the force he would never achieve if not for Anakin always pushing his limits and Kenobi wanting to "show" he was the master. They could achieve so much more if things did not happen as it did, but there's nothing one can do against plot armor. Cheers.
They basically grew up together. Learning each other's strengths and weaknesses.
This is great! :D Really great! They were such team.Dynamic Duo of Clone Wars😃Excellent analysis of their tactics and abilities. May the Force be with you too. Have a great day too😀
Just seeing the title, it's obvious what the answer is. Nonetheless, it's still always a joy to hear you break things down, into greater detail than expected. Kudos!
You should do more master apprentice in battle like Yoda and Windu and Yoda and Dooku.
Ngl this is hands down your best thumbnail
Tandem attacks. If you know each other well and know how to complement each other's strengths as well as compensate for each other's weaknesses, very few will be able to stand against you as an army of two.
I guess I hadn't fully thought about it, but although they irritated each other so often, they worked together incredibly well! I mean it goes without saying they knew each other well enough to counter each other in their duel and reach a stalemate until Obi Wan took advantage of Anakin's arrogance. But to work together in tandem using opposite styles is a whole different thing and hadn't truly noticed how well they did it! They complemented each other perfectly!
Man they knew each other so we'll you would think they were brothers or something😎😎
Makes you appreciate Dooku even more, man used to 1v2 them like a piece of cake, until Anakin got too powerful.
Together in battle they are a representation of a balanced force.
Ataru footwork speed is similar to two fast moving dancers in position and moving in sync together, the faster ones are ready to cover the other.
Ataru allows jumping spinning, I guess they do half spinning, and many will be surprised on how well they meshed together.
I had to watch this twice man this was another great video 😀😀😀
This analysis proves that the fight between these two on Mustafar is hands down why it is the greatest lightsaber Duel of all time!
Great breakdown and video 👍🏼
The dynamic duo
I have a video idea for ya, if Obi-Wan was one of the well known heros of the Galactic war, what did the galaxy think of him after order 66?
Well they was literally paired off as Yin an Yang. An always have wondered what it'd been like IF Anakin was reffered to as THE Attacker Form 5 Master EVER the way Obi was THE Form 3 ultimate Defensive Master
brothers working in sink
The best battle duo.
My GOATS
The original two trilogies are written in a way which really make Obi-Wan so very interesting.
Yooooooo! The big homies!
Perhaps the best Jedi duo of star wars saga.
6:27 Anakin Tankwalker
Hammer and Anvil tactics, Kenobi was often times the Anvil and Anakin was the Hammer
Cool.
well one doesnt get called the hero with no fear and the negotiator for no reason😊
It’s because of their work ethic. They constantly trained harder than their peers.
Why Anakin and obi-wan became unstoppable: War crimes
Attack & Defense in perfect balance! Sith fear that!
Cool 😎
They do fight good together in battles
Imagine an alternate timeline where anakin and obi-wan fought sideous together
"Wonton destruction" lmao
A jedi skilled called perfidy.
Don't wanna destroy that perfect 501(st) like number...
Mr theory u may have something here 2v2 series would be fun couple guest great convos

Greetings. I would like to make a video suggestion/request... if I may.
Saba Sebatyne's fight with Kenth Hamner. I personally rank it as the number 2 most tragic duel in Jedi history. Number 1, of course, is Obi Wan v. Anakin, and number 3 being Exar Kun v. Vodo-Siosk Baas.
~bows head~ I hope you will consider it.
I’m curious about something, ROTS, during the two-on-one fight against Dooku why did Obi-wan sometimes fight one-handed? (If I misspelled anything I’m sorry)
My question is why Padme went from being a badass to basically being nothing towards the end of the war
Han solo syndrome, same thing happens to Han in ROTJ. He's basically an afterthought in that movie. Nice backpack throw though.
It's because of Obi-Wan's deceptive maneuvers
You’ve got to remember
Obi-wan plus just a few extra inches of height =super extra powerfulness
Obi wan is like lil bro always having your back when you need support role player
What does Jabba usually smoke?
You guys have a discord server for discussion for Star Wars?
I have never seen or heard it stated that perhaps the only reason Kenobi was a master of his form was due to how he AND Anakin duled each other.
So, without Anakinf Kenobi would be average. 🤔
The stupendous wave. This has been confirmed stated established by Star Wars canon and George Lucas himself, Anakin Skywalker in his prime before he turned to the Dark side and became Darth Vader, surpassed and was above every Jedi including Kenobi, but was below or equal to Yoda and Mace Windu. And also, just like he killed Count Dooku by himself, he could have would have done the same thing to both Darth Maul and General Grievous if he was sent after them to save Ahsoka and stop the war. Killing two birds with one stone. Yep, that is the duty. The role of the chosen one, The hero with no fear.
... Up until Anakin decides to use the time tested tactic of throwing the sword, failing fantastically, and leaving just the shield.
But hey, they both adapted in the end.
This is great!😀Really great!😀Dynamic Duo of Clone Wars. Great analysis of tactics and possibilities😀May the Force be with you too. Have a great day too😀
His fall is made worse by the depth of their brotherhood of Kenobi and Anakin. Sadly he explains how he must train asohka as a soldier and that shows his intent. Btw you voice and stories are great, I'll sub to this channel
I prefer the term battlefront over battlefield
Juyo is the natural counterpart to soresu, not djem so.
I really like Obi Wan's fighting stance.
Simple one is a jedi master of defense, and the other is a master of attack (just not a jedi master)!!😂😂
It just makes me sad that the council and the order as a whole let alone Master Windu couldn't take time to understand Anakin and help him with his inner darkness. If they had did better by the chosen one then palpatine would have failed. He wouldn't have been able to manipulate Anakin as easily working on Anakin's fears and anger.
Let's go early bird gang 🎉
Should have never ended
Day 461 of asking for a part 3 of what if anakin was trained by qui gon
They like batman and robin
Just not against Dooku lol
It's a shame that in revenge of the sith they couldn't reason with each other.
Team warcrimes, gooooo!
If anaking embraced dark side but not fully just get mad and have obi wan with him even sidious shit himself
Ani/Obi had the separatists absolutely shook... But the 501st and 212th were true heros. The spear and shield of the Republic!
How about Anakin and Ahsoka work so well together on missions?
She also used Djem So but was far more acrobatic. Anakin would lead with an upfront assault while Ahsoka would use her high agility to manoeuvre herself to an opponent’s flank. The high pressure of Anakin’s attack would prevent the opponent from adjusting focus to defend against Ahsoka, who would then use her advantaged position to pick out prime opportunities to attack. At the same time she was able to regulate the flow of the battle by jumping in and forcing a reversal of roles the second Anakin was on the back foot, preventing their opponent from ever gaining momentum, while allowing the more experienced Anakin to reset and strategise before taking back the lead role in the assault.
Then you have to consider the vast majority of their opponents were offence focused. By employing a tactic that overwhelmed their opponents with multiple, high intensity attacks from multiple angles on each side, they forced them into an uncomfortable and unfamiliar defensive position, unbalancing their opponent’s resolve.
😊
