    Just wanted to say thanks you are doing an amazing job...yours is the go to channel for many kashmiris living outside ...im really disappointed at the negative comments ..it is a shame how some kashmiris try to discourage others trying to do something good and different ...Much love ❤

    This is a delicacy of Kashmir and must only be tried in winter. The spices, meat etc. keeps you warm in cold climate and oil helps in that. Some of who are wondering why so much oil, well that is a part of the cuisine and a requirement in cold. But you can in principle add lesser oil and it will be as tasty.

    • @ZoonDaeb
      @ZoonDaeb  6 років тому

      Frankly nothing can be substituted for pran.
      Have you tried shallots(an inch size onions) available for tadka in grocery stores outside kashmir, they are quite close to Kashmiri shallots(pran). But not raw, fried and blended.

      @@ZoonDaeb so ma'am can i use shallots in vaer masala...?
      Since praan have less amt of water compaired to onions and shallots......
      Can i thickly cut the shallots and let its water dry a bit (in oven or sunlight separately) and then use it for vaer masala...

    • @ZoonDaeb
      @ZoonDaeb  6 років тому +1

      Yes sundry them, after washing shallots sprinkle salt and spread on cloth/towel. Salt will help to ooze out water, then you can deep fry them and then again sundry. Try to make with small batch first, see how it turns. Then you can do more. Hope it helps. Using onions/shallots means less quantity then required for given spices.
