Redeem the Future is easily one of the hardest hitting tracks in the series, it’s no surprise that it ended up getting requested so many times. I don’t know if she does, but I definitely consider it to be Manami Kiyota’s best work on the series.
3:34 Glad to see you recognised the melodic similarity to Zanza the Divine! Made me smile like an idiot first time I heard it! It is a very deliberate similarity for reasons that become clear in context.
He definitely needs the context for it though, because while it doesn't seem particularly specific except for sounding "evil and big" with the side of the specific motif he'll learn to recognize in the future, everything in chapter 2 and (mainly) chapter 3's climax sells the score and its why many ended up loving it so much. Also I just realized the whole party gets to be "big and 'evil'" in both chapters, and the motif? It's so good how through music, once you understand the context, tells you how similar you are to the enemy. It's great.
13:17 Indeed, Ancient Mysteries was composed by Manami Kiyota! She's also a singer for the series and is used to sing on a lot of her tracks (Eryth Sea, Zanza the Divine, as well as this one) The track is sick Edit : Sick headbanging riff, loved your pinched harmonics 😎
Hey, that's my upload of redeem the future! Thank you for watching, redeem the future is actually in 2 approx ~4 minute parts on the ost, and I edited them into one video (though, 3 did crank it up with song length as you suggest). The language is a made up one, Manami Kiyota said she just kinda made it up herself, similarly to how she did Zanza the Divine. Been a fan for a while, love your videos, and really need to get around to watching your playthroughs of XC1&2
I will gladly wait for the day Xenoblade 3 playthrough starts. As with most of the Xenoblade games... The future awaits. Edit: Bro... That ending. Oh yeah 👍
I remember, back in 2014, trying to find music to listen to while doing my university studies, and discovering the “Xenoblade Chronicles” OST. I was so entranced by its music (especially the final final boss theme LOL) that I just *had* to get it, back when it used to be hard to get a Wii disc for it, and it became my favorite game. Ever since, as the rest of the games have come out, the music has consistently blown me away, and motivated me! Glad to see that you’ve had a similar experience.
Hearing you comment on the lack of guitars in the first phase almost immediately before the second phase started and bust out those very guitars was _amazing._ You also mentioned part of it sounding familiar... Well it should.
the style of vocals is a callback to Xenogears (1998), Takahashi's original series. I'm pretty sure NieR was heavily inspired by Xenogears and took musical cues from it (hence the chanting vocals). A lot of people have commented how XC3 feels like Takahashi revisiting his ideas from Xenogears and completing them, and XC3 does have a few tracks where it takes those same musical cues they set from Xenogears, which is why it sounds very NieR.
Xenoblade 3 goes kind of insane with song length, partly because a lot of the battle music is dynamic. In this case, the fight has two phases, denoted by the softer first half and the much more intense second half. But in other instances, the song changes depending on how much HP the enemy has or how well the player's party is performing.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see ferronis was requested. it's not a theme you really notice in the game, so most people don't remember it, so it's super underrated. but it's so good when you actually hear it.

Great commentary and you're right in this being one big fight. Seems like you're enjoying xenoblade music because I've been seeing tons of xenoblade music being reacted to. Us xenoblade fans are in for a ride!
Hell yeah, nice riff !!! It goes so hard. Xenoblade 3 is my personal favorite of the lot, for many reasons, and the music doesn't miss ! You can tell there was a clear vision for 3 that translates into a refinement and consistency throughout.
Redeem The Future is actually two songs: Redeem The Future and Redeem The Future (Finale). The Final one starts with the electric guitar. Since Xenoblade 3 has a lot of adaptative tracks (the music changes depending on what happens), people datamining the OST thought it was a single adaptative track. But in the official soundtrack, they're two separate musics.
Peak reaction!! This was incredibly entertaining Jesse! :)) The second I saw the video....I was like....awwww no! This is gonna be good! Incredible music and awesome video!
If anyone wants another XB3 song like Redeem the Future, Origin Depths (Section A) is one of the best in there with a lot of the same style! Only used for like 20 seconds of a single cutscene despite being a fullblown 3+ minute song, so even playing the game you never really hear it.
Dude that track is sick! Why didn't they use it more? I get that maybe the trumpets of section B are more triumphant for the latter part of the area, but come on let us have the intimidating section A at least for the beginning area
That was my reaction when I first head Redeem The Future as well. Pick up my guitar! I also find You Will Know Our Names and Engage the Enemy from Xenoblade Chronicles 1 to be super fun to play. You should give them a shot!
3 is not only my favourite RPG ever. It's also my favourite fiction ever. Including every type of media. 2 is awesome but 3 is just in a league of its own.
This songs belongs to the final boss of the DLC, the battle itself is already awesome, but this song, THIS MASTERPIECE, makes the battle be 1 hundred better and epic!!!
You may or may not have noticed the existence of a DLC expansion for XC3 called "Future Redeemed," pretty much the Torna or Future Connected of this game, yeah Redeem the Future is specifically from there. This also appears to be a combination of both versions of Redeem the Future, as they do lead into each other pretty well.
So as has been mention, especially by Rex about Redeem the Future, it's actually two songs, Redeem the Future and Redeem the Future - Finale. Xeno 3 is the end of the Klaus saga as Monolith have said. So 3 makes all sorts of call backs to the prior two games. Sure you don't have to play the prior two games but the impact if you have, perfect.
Listened to Redeem the Future over a thousand times easily, even though I don’t know what’s even being said if there is anything but what’s the most impactful is knowing that the theme is around a character that’s essentially God going rogue
If you play 3, I think its actually a great thing that you are taking a break after 2 from the series. 3 comes together in a big way if you've been able to let the previous games sit in your memory for a while.

Been watching his XB2 vods and Jesse seems to be kinda struggling with the battle mechanics (like everybody who has played has). As most people agree that the tutorials are the worst thing in the game and that watching the videos greatly enchances your XB2 experience. Has anybody mentioned that to Jesse yet?
Jesse, I really really hope you see this. But when you do play XB3, i want to give you a huge "music" warning. When performing chain attacks in 3, it will ALWAYS play the chain attack theme over any boss theme, therfore its super easy to miss when the music shifits such as with the guitar riff in this song. So i wanted to make sure you're aware of that detail so you dont miss out on some of the best songs in the series.
