It would have been more funny if they decided, “ So they don’t like hole in the head SheRa, eh? Well now we’re going to have NO head SheRa! Ha ha ha!” Yes, I align with the Evil Hoard.
It strikes me as odd that in one breath, you will complain about fans not displaying a figure "correctly," but then a couple minutes later, rave about how customization was such an important consideration for the line. It's weird to know that you knew the history of the difference between designer intent and fan use with the original figure, and then be blindsided with the same for your product. Even if you don't like the look of the big hair version, you've got to admit it's objectively better for a customizer than working around a hole in the head, right?
@@spectorcreative1872 A little bit (I would generally view customization as mostly a subset of going against the designer's/manufacturer's intent (though there are of course, exceptions)), and I am admittedly combining both in my above comment. They may be viewed as separate, but, I think, they are closely related, and both apply to the question of how to attach the mask/crown. What was basically trying to say in my original comment was that I was rather surprised that you all were surprised at the backlash considering the multiple angles that decision could come back at the team negatively. If your team was thinking of customizers, it's surprising to me to think you all thought they'd be ok with a head sculpt that had a hole in the forehead because, to me, it seems obvious that a customizer would like to use body parts, especially a head, separate from any detachable accessories. I mean, how many other pieces of armor/clothing were attached in such a way to mandate use of that one accessory to make that part presentable? Likewise from the intent angle. I am surprised that even though you all knew the history behind She-Ra's mask/crown and how this exact accessory was a prime example of the difference between company intent and customer use, it seemed that the idea that people would want to play with/display the figure in a way contrary to your all's intent (i.e., mask-/crownless) didn't cross your all's mind or, if it did, that you decided to force your intent (i.e., not making the head presentable without the mask/crown), unlike the designers of the vintage She-Ra, who catered to the focus group girls by packaging the vintage figure with the accessory as a crown, not a mask, and having Filmation animate her in that way as well.
I couldn't believe the nonsense people spouted over the peg hole in her head. I can see it being a bit annoying for people who want to display She-ra with no mask for some reason (though I'm not sure why anyone would). But claiming it was sexist or whatever is so hysterical.

Like that she-ra faker. If people say something to u about it, then I wouldn't worry about it.
Would have loved to make that!
Well there is a difference in customization and then being annoyed that you can't display a figure in a way it is not meant to be displayed me thinks.
Hey everyone has their issues...
