This is so funny!! Two of those shirts were my husbands.😂 It’s so fun to think you turned them into dresses for your daughter. I never thought after dropping his shirts off at Fashion Cents I would see them again, especially looking so adorable on Evonnie. I absolutely love them! Great idea💛
Megan, please keep it up with the style at the beginning of this. This was so beautiful and peaceful and I loved it. The music is 10/10. This makes me so happy! I love your vlogs and your aesthetic.
Thank you so much!! I'm not the most quiet peaceful person, but I love watching this style!
@@MeganFoxUnlocked you’re welcome! Also your daughter is sooo cute and sweet and watching her smile while trying on the dresses you made her, made me so happy!
Yes! What she said 😁👌
Seeing your darling daughter so excited for kindergarten reminds me of my darling daughter and her excitement for kindergarten over forty years ago! It’s a thrill we Mother’s never get over because we love seeing our children happy, thriving, and learning! I’m very happy and excited for Evonnie! May God bless her in school this year!
👏
I love your idea to recycle shirts into dresses! I think Evonnie might have an easier time with the straps a little narrower. An alternative would be to criss-cross them in the back and attach them with a button or snap on the front - leaving a little extra length inside the jumper for lengthening later. Such a fun time in your life! Enjoy it - they grow so fast!
I like how you think!
Turning the men's shirts into little girl's jumpers - GENIUS!! I remember growing up that my grandmother would go to thrift stores and buy long sleeve men's button-up shirts and then cut off the cuffs and put elastic in the arms to create a ruffle on the bottom. She wore these all the time!! She loved to go thrifting!! She called it "junking"!! I am now a grandmother to 7 grands!! Watching this video sparked this memory of my grandmother and her reimagining thrifted men's shirts. Thank you for this!!
Definitely share these wonderful stories with your kids and grand kids!
She looks adorable in her dresses, she's very lucky to have you as her mom.
If the straps are problematic, or if she fusses with the bows too much, maybe shorten the straps, use iron on Velcro for the closure, and just sew a cute button on top! Snaps could also be another option. I love your creativity with this project!
What a cute idea with the shirt to dress project. Find one for Josh and her to match!
Evonnie wiping the mirror 😆 she gets me every time! I just love her
I did the same thing when I started making clothing for my niece. Buttons were so much work so I used my husbands old button downs and made cute dresses for her. For the top portion I did smocking to help keep the dress up, along with straps. They all came out so cute, some of my nieces favorite pieces when she was little. Her all time favorite item I made her was a cape style jacket 🥰. Now I have my own daughter and I cannot wait to start making her dresses 🥰🥰🥰
I love the leg action when the baby was ready for more oatmeal!!
I agree with sewing the buttons down.. there is zero reason to leave it open and it is more modest this way
LOVE the dress!!
Hi Megan~
Coming from someone who can only sew buttons back on a shirt I am completely blown away how you made Evonnie's jumpers. What talent and imagination you have!!!!!! 👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️👍🏻
You could always use some of the leftover material from the shirts to make a matching hairbow or kerchief! 🙂
I just turned my dining room into a sewing set up to finish four Christmas quilts I’m making for my grandkids. So they have something to remember me by.
I keep cooked pasta in the fridge. It's good for at least three days. I've known it to be fine on day 5, when it's not been eaten before then👌 No need to use the water, heat and time cooking the pasta fresh each day, if you don't want to🙏💕
I love watching you sew . This is the way my mom made dresses for me. Always used a favorite dress and copied it. Perfect.
I first thought the plaid was so ugly but when you made the dress it was my favorite. It's beautiful !!!! You are very talented. Evonnie is a pretty little girl with a great mommy. Be blessed Meghan.
Yes, you have to be able to picture it in a finished project. My cousin Jayna taught me that. She'd pick out the weirdest looking fabric and it would turn out beautiful!
I love your sewing vlogs! I love to sew and I always enjoy watching someone else who also enjoys it! I also love that it isn’t just all sewing and instructional but your real life too. I was looking forward to this all week, thanks!
Not too mention I love your sewing idea! You are so creative!
Those little girl dresses from men's shirts were adorable. I'm not a great sewer, but I have made throw pillow covers from old shirts and the button detail made them special. So yay, keep being inventive. I am older than you, I am not a Mennonite, I don't necessarily dress modestly...but you are an influencer to me. I always look forward to a Megan Fox post. 🥰
Evonnie's jumpers turned out so cute. It was a brilliant idea to use men's shirts. I used to buy little denim skirts for my daughter and use some cotton print fabric to add a ruffle to the bottom of the skirt for added length. Then I;d make a matching tie from the fabric to serve as a little belt. It's so fun to make clothes for little girls. Going back to school also made me think that I always sent my daughter to school with little bike shorts under her dresses and skirts for modesty sake. I'm going to use the pasta bar idea for a company meal. My health limits me and a pasta bar would be an easy, but fun meal. I love your videos. Tfs
Maybe just sew on a strap from front to back in one piece instead of the ties since they are a bit bulky or may be a distraction to Evonnie. Love the idea! Way to recycle, and wala, buttons!
Enjoyed the sewing days.....Great work.
Here in the UK kids start school properly at age 4/5 depending on when born and wear a school uniform until they leave secondary (high school) at 18.
So, while expensive, we don't have the worry of their own clothes getting ruined and all the kids look the same.
We don't have to provide text books or excerise books either as the schools provide those, we don't pay for those at all, all we have to do is provide pens, pencils, erasers and pencil sharpeners.
Hope Evonie enjoys starting school, makes friends and enjoys herself!
You are so talented! I can’t wait to see how this dress turns out!!
I love your videos. They are so peaceful. Thanks for sharing them.
love love love watching and learning how to sew
So cute!
She looks adorable!
You are so creative!!!
I really love your videos! They are uplifting and heartfelt! ❤
Love your sewing vlogs. I have two kids under 3 and I don't know how you find the time to make such cute pieces. 😊. Your videos inspire me to just "get it done".
My mom made two shirts out of one of my dads shirts for me with Peter Pan Collars for school they had 3/4 sleeves I was so lucky that mom could sew so well.
Great idea on the jumpers💕
The dresses and backpack turned out so cute!!! Great ideas for lunch too
Love love the dresses, pasta bar idea and how super cute is her book bag!!💗💗
Oh megen, those dresses came out cute!!!! Oh i love the buffalo black plaid one! Very cool idea
Those dresses were brilliant!
GENIUS! So much nice fabric in men's button shirts!
The dresses are so adorable and I love the backpack idea!!
Definitely a genius idea with the shirts I love it!!
Great ideA using mens shirts!! My mom use to give me an old dress or shirt, skirt, robe and encourage me to come up with something made from it!! Oh my goodness my mom has been gone 50 years and you brought out all of those precious memories!! Those really were the days!!!!
This was a fun video. Thank you for sharing about making dresses for your sweet daughter!
I love your peach colored top, Megan!! You look so adorable!
The jumpers were adorable
Great job & very creative
See those buttons down! Love the dresses & back pack. Your little one is so happy! Loved the outdoor time too.
Those shirt dresses are so cute & a great idea!!🤩
Those dresses are the coolest idea ever! I may need to try this
I didn't want this video to end! Love!
Such a brilliant dress idea!! Love it❤️
We do this in the UK but usually we make the top where you fold it over, make it so you can thread a long thinner strip of fabric through front and back. They are then the straps & make the rest of the long fabric into a bow. We also make them out of teashirts, super easy.
Great vlog and vonnie is so adorable.
That sounds so cute!! So the straps are kind of like a draw string?
Yes, just like a drawstring! I used to make these for my girls when they were a bit smaller. I started my first sewing project this way with one of my hubby's old shirts that was still in a good condition. Our finances were really tight that year and my a baby girl needed a few dresses for summer. It was so much fun sewing her a cute little dress out of her daddy's shirt😍😁
Some folks use pillow cases to make this type of dress.
Such a fun video! I enjoyed these projects. The dresses and backpack were all so cute!!
So cute! Both the dresses and especially that very smiling girl!
Great job Megan 👏 on an excellent vlog! It was the best one yet. So calming. I will be watching it again. I enjoy your vlogs while I'm cooking dinner.
The shirt dresses are adorable!! Backpack turned out great! Love the beginning of this one. Very nice! TFS ❤️
I agree, sew those buttons down! Love your creativity on using the shirts, how fun! Your ice coffee drink looks absolutely delightful! Thank you for the idea!
Megan💜 your videos always have a way of uplifting me and i’m excited to watch while
my toddler naps! thank you 💜💜💜💜
Megan, you are such an inspiration and your lifestyle is a whole motivation! 🤍
Megan, this is genius! Definitely going to try this.
Loved the sewing idea with men's shirts. I took my Mom's shirts that were similar and made them into aprons for my sisters and my nieces to have a memory of her. And also I made some little girl dresses out of pillowcases! And I would use ribbon or some kind of trim for the little shoulder ties. Sometimes you can find really pretty pillowcases at the thrift store!💕
my MiL made pillowcase dresses for my first daughter when she was little and I LOVED it!
I really like the first dress ! Adorable idea.
So clever ! This will become vital I’m sure 💗💗
What a clever idea ... making little dresses/jumpers from men's shirts. Very clever of you. Evonnie is a great little model too - such a cutie. Love the pasta bar idea and having the kiddos participate in making their own combination. Take care!
Love the dresses 😍 I do a little sewing when I can and love it. I may need to use this idea for my little sisters and hopefully one day my daughter/s
Lol, sounded crazy, turned out genius!! Great job!! Love your channel! ☺️
Love love loving your content!!!💖👏🏼 The little dress design was so fun and such a great idea. I want to learn how to sew. My grandma used to sew all of our uniforms for school. She was a master and I regret not learning more from her!
4 and a half minutes in and it sounds genius!!!! YOU can be the one to get it on pinterest 😍😍
Awww the dresses are so adorable! I need to learn to sew lol I’ve had a sewing machine sitting in my closet for years now. (I also have 3, only they’re 5 and under)
And yes I definitely feel like I’m living a second childhood with all my kiddos!
Love your creativity!!
Megan, so smart so creative with the $2 man shirts. Also love the pasta bowls. Love your channel thank you as always for sharing your life with us🤗🤗😇😇
Great job on the dresses! Shes so dear! Accomplishing a sewing project is so satisfying😁
Such lovely morning music 🎶🤍 lovely video today, Megan!! Right up my alley!! 🤍
Sewing is my favorite hobby right now!!! I'm not the greatest at it but I do love it so I can't be that bad! lol
This is such a creative fun idea! Evonnies dress is beautiful and I love the backpack idea!!! I grew up sewing with my grandmother and I'm so thankful I can operate a sewing machine and usually figure things out for myself!
Thanks for sharing megan! I'm totally addicted to your videos right now, you and the other mennonite moms LOLOLOL!!!!!
Another great episode loved the pasta bar idea I think I might do that this weekend when we have friends coming over for the afternoon. Loved the sewing but as I cannot even so on a button I don’t think I’ll try that one but loved seeing your daughter show off her new dresses. Have a good week and already looking forward to the next one.
You're such an amazing mom and person! Love the intro you did, very artistic. You're such an inspiration and I love all the content you put out. Thank you!
