OMG! Is that the amazing Trish Meyer watching *my* tutorials!? We've probably rubbed elbows at countless tradeshows over the years. I used to work for Adobe for 17+ years and am a good friend of Brian Maffitt. We're all been doing this stuff for decades and I'm thrilled that you were able to get something useful from my tutorial. I'm a big fan of you and Chris and think your motion graphics works is amazing.
Hey Colin, I was looking for something entirely different and wanted to sleep early. You made me watch this video till the end. You're a great teacher and I love to see you/ your videos. Nice to see your videos on internet in India. At the end want to say that you are fantastic and those who are around you are blessed.
Thanks so much for your support and very kind words. It takes a huge amount of work to create tutorials and I really appreciate when someone tells me that I make a difference. 😍
Hi, Colin. I've been creating mogrts in After Effects and in Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro gives me the option of also creating a preview file that will play in the Essential Graphics panel in PPro. After Effect does not. I've discovered by experimenting that I can rename to mogrt file with an extension of "zip", open it in WinZip, add an mp4 of the mogrt in use with the name "thumb.mp4", then save the zip and rename it to "mogrt" again. This is really clumsy. Is there a better way of getting a preview mogrt when the mogrt is built in AE?
Thank you for the wealth of information on your UA-cam channel! You have a great teaching gift! You remind me of a supervisor I had when I was once freelancing for MSNBC. Keep the great content coming! I'm watching it all, doing my best to catch up. Blessings!!!
Hey Colin just watched this all the way through and its great! Thank for taking the time! Few quick questions: How do we add a line to a graphics without going into Legacy Title?
Yeah, a single line isn't something you can do with Premiere graphics. I am told the Pen Tool is supposed to do that but you can't Shift constrain so it' useless. I draw a very thing rectangle when I want a line.
Collin, another great tutorial. Now I cam go back and remake my temples correctly. We only have two videos up so far but I think they came out good thanks to your teachings. How do you learn to use new features? I watch you but was curious if you had inside info from adobe themselves.
99% of what I figure out is from spending many hours testing. I've been fighting and swearing at Mogrts for over a year. I consult my Adobe contacts and former colleagues to clarify anything I'm unsure of. Here's my thought process: instagram.com/p/BiozHbjlMcE/
I have a nice note, sir - You really taught us how to do it not just like other creative young people tell you to do this and put this here and that there - No you say why we did this and why you should do this - Remember me with the old teachers Greetings to you
I find your tutorials excellent and have been a subscribers for a long time. Please don't stop ... ;-) What software are you using to do the screen recordings within the app ?
Thanks for your support. I use Camtasia to record the screen, zoom in and highlight areas. The final edit, with my talking head and titles, is finished in Premiere Pro.
Thank you. You're the best. Greetings from Argentina. I thank my mom that when I was a kid she forced me to study English and now I can see your videos !!! jajaja...

Sorry but those are older effects and I only use the Lumetri Color Panel because it can do everything the Three Way Color Corrector and Levels can do, but much better.
You have this one UA-cam video where in the foreground was a 30% discount in the bottom left corner. The video clip was of a guy pumping iron & there was an animated logo with a barbell the said "Jimmy's Gym" - or something like that. I've scrubbed through 30 videos & I can't find it. Do you remember which one it is?
Thanks for your tutorials. I want to know where is my mistake, because I have a scrolling credits Text and a Logo that moves top to bottom. If I select the credits box I can save it as a MGRT but if I select both items and try to save as a Motion Graphics Template, that option is greyed.
You can only export out a Mogrt for what is in the Essential Graphics panel. Drag the logo into the top right stack of layers on the Essential Graphics panel, then export. Make sure you only select the graphic on the Timeline.
Fabulous tutorial Colin! 1. What does DEEP DIVE mean: in the title, Adobe Premiere Pro CC- DEEP DIVE! above? 2. Which version of Premiere is this tutorial applicable to? love your tutorials - thank you, glovideo
A "Deep Dive" typically means that the tutorial is very detailed and goes into many features and functions. This tutorial is for the Creative Cloud version so if you're already a subscriber, just update to the latest version. Thanks for your support.
I am having a problem. I created a lower 3rd last week. I nested the motion graphics and now I know I can't do that and export as a MOGRT. However, I went in, started a new project, and just used the text tool and typed "blah blah blah", nothing else, and I still can't export as a motion graphic template. Is there a setting I am missing or am I just doing something wrong? EDIT: New subscriber by the way. Thank you!!
As long as you're selecting the Premiere Graphic on the main Timeline, you should absolutely be able to export as a Mogrt. Try Opt+drag (Mac) Alt+drag (Win) on the Timeline to duplicate it and that might make it work.
I've done something that messed me up. In playing with this I created some templates I want to remove, but the Delete option is grayed out. I seem to be stuck with them. I can copy to local, and that creates a copy that I can delete but I can't delete the original. Any ideas? Or a default location where the data can be deleted?
Yes, it's a bit confusing on what you can and can't delete. There is a folder you can try to remove them from, just quit Premiere Pro first. This is the location on Windows. I assume it's in the hidden Library folder on Mac. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Motion Graphics Templates
Sometimes when I tires to render my clients video in premiere pro so it shows me error GPU render error How to fix it? I'm using Nvidia 1059TI 4GB graphics card.
Hi Video Revealed: I can't find a way to see or set the dimensions of shapes created in Essential Graphics. Am I nuts, blind or both? :) Danke. For now, the use case is creating perfect circles and squares. The shift key doesn't seem to do anything. Thanks.
Oh boy, I can't tell you how much I bitched and moaned to Adobe many years ago while the whole Essential Graphics Panel was being developed. I told them how important it was to be able to create precise sized graphics and no one thought it was important. I think the Essential Graphics engineers have had enough of me but I'm only asking for what users want! Adobe's original goal is for the whole graphics engine is they believe it's more important to have graphics automatically conform to different aspect ratios and properly created Mogrts do just that. They've designed everything with that as the priority so it isn't important to have a graphic size numerically, instead it's a size based on the screen. That explanation just makes me shake my head. 😢
Yes, no control of size in pixels seems like an unjustifiable omission. I fixed my problem though by using the pen tool (with the Shift key) instead of the "New" icon below the list of graphics.
I get their logic, but that design objective shouldn't keep them from doing basic blocking and tackling. To their credit, I'm guessing it's not really a deal-breaker in most cases (I find very few people complaining about it!). Frustrating though.
the responsive text doesn't work for me. when i change the text, the textbox doesn't change shape automatically. only if i manuall change the size of the textbox, then the underlying layer moves with it.
@@VideoRevealed oh thats no bueno. that means that if you handover your cg to someone else and they change the length of the clip they have to readjust the keyframes.
If you're talking about the Essential Graphics panel, you need to have the latest version of Premiere Pro. If you do have the latest version, try Double-clicking on the Graphics Workspace to reset it.
You give great explanations. I just wish they worked. Nothing works as described and seen on your screen. I have the very latest version, 12.1.2 on Windows 10, and when I tried doing my own thing, nothing worked - it wouldn't let me create even a single thing, so I tried the steps exactly as seen and it would not work. To get anything to happen at all, I put in an image file first in the sequence, then suddenly some things would work. But the Pen tool only does the Pen, not the shapes, and the text tool only does the one text. When I typed words on the keyboard, nothing appeared, even though the font color was set to white. I'm so confused! I've poured half a day into this and getting nowhere. Having to stop watching your video at around 10 minutes, because nothing you said worked at all. I'm a new user to PPCC and the only graphics I have been able to get to work so far has been the Legacy Titles. Sigh.
