As good as endwalker cinematic intermission transitions were, this one is much more epic in my opinion purely because there is no break, no pause, no checkpoint. Just a 10 second breather and then u go right back into action. Music being a banger only adds a cherry on top.

Phase 1 sounds like a hero, or a fallen hero, is on her last day. Phase 2 sounds like that hero's final stand. Plot armor is gone, but she is going down swinging.

Forgetting the most important detail (and why she stops in a regular fight)... What is the point of getting WoL's Soul if this Overclocked Transformation move was clearly something she NEVER used (as even commentator is shocked) and really looks like it would cost her her life whether she wins or not? WoL's Soul is not some magic pill to eat - she has to be alive to post process it and fix her own Soul... Which is kinda hard when you burned everything you had for that last extra bit of power and crumble into lightning crystal dust at the end.

Always felt like the normal mode theme was missing something, and this is it. The strings and choir make this melody explode and hype you up to push for that juicy Savage tier clear
people are saying x game this or y game that, but this is sounds a lot like Eikonoklasm from 16, soken realized he was cooking with that and decided to bring it over to 14
Not the greatest song but at least better than the rest of the tier which wasn't too hard for me. No singing is an automatic bonus. Feels more like 3D sonic final bosses than anything else, and I guess the fight fits into that being the easiest part of the tier just like in those games.
@@sunfeatherX3 It's not supposed to have "power" its supposed to be a desperate final stand kind of theme. You should actually listen to it with the context of the new phase in the fight lol. The bit at 0:51 makes that pretty obvious with it's very solemn tone, sounds like if stuff is falling out of reach for her before going into the choir section. Then at 1:49 also has very "i can do this, i can fight back vibes" in a heroic more upbeat way with the same melody she shares with her sister's theme. Videogame music isn't supposed to just be about high energy powerful tracks to fight bosses too, you can represent narrative through music (FromSoft are very good example of that) and FFXIV music does a great job a lot of the time too.
