There are too many to list just one. Munising is one of my favorite U.P. towns. Being on the shore of Lake Superior, the views are zmazing. In lower Michigan, I love a town called Alden. It sits on the shore of Torch Lake (named as one of the top 10 most beautiful lakes in the world by National Geographic magazine). There are hundreds of charming towns in Michigan. ☮️
Creede, Colorado. Fell in love with it when I was 21. And, it sits within a giant volcanic caldera, so even better, for some jaw dropping scenery! Also, “that texas river” really isn’t - it starts, spectacularly, here in these high, snow covered mountains, and swiftly flows by Creede. They have an outdoor ice hockey rink in Winter!!! And, top class playhouse theater in Summer. 👍
If those deer weren’t a sign, there never will be! Mom and baby deer, for your mom and you and for your grandmother and your mom. A double! So beautiful.
I loved your video❤ I have lived here all of my 70 years! So fun to see my town through someone else's eyes! Point Hudson is my go to place to go set and de-stress. During my high school years we lived in the duplex behind where you were parked. The area you parked was just open ground. I loved going to sleep listening to the water. I'm sorry for your loss😢
thank you so much for commenting! what a lovely place to live! last time we were there was during covid so it was great to see the town alive again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember meeting your mom at the wedding and she was so excited that we came all the way down from CT for you! and she was so proud of you and so happy
OM Goodness, thank you for sharing a very loving and sad time! You brought back the memory of when my Mom past, I had been in a real bad accident and couldn't be there, but in ND they can't bury in the winter!! So 8 months later, me and my daughter and her family was out there for graveside service and burial and as we were driving away spotted a doe in a field and pulled over the side of road to show the 4 little ones! But to our surprise she was giving birth to a fawn and the kids sat in awe for the next 10-15 minutes without saying a word as we watched!! And when we reached my brother's place for the family gathering, the kids were excited telling my Uncle about the deer having a baby!! He then told them that if the deer was near the cemetery and had a baby there is was a sign of peacefulness then!!
I live in the next town over (Sequim). I love visiting Port Townsend … the scenery, the ocean, the quaintness of the town … a lovely place for your mom to rest … my condolences❤… peace and comfort to you and yours❤️
What a beautiful video! Watching the beginning made me chuckle at Aaron & feel so peaceful, viewing that misty ocean scenery. I was sad that you lost your Mom, but also happy that she was laid to rest in a lovely place, with lovely flowers & living people that loved her. I think the momma & child deer were there, while you were there, for a reason. ❤
Found your channel while looking for places to see in Port Townsend. I had to leave you a comment after watching. By reading the title, I knew it would be heavy content and I wanted to watch because I did a road trip in 2022 from Texas to Michigan with my father's ashes. He passed in 2012 and while I was born and raised in TX, he was so in Michigan. I recorded a lot with photos/videos but I only ended up sharing the leg from Austin to Memphis with friends and family through Instagram stories. I was locked in the moment, in the present, with grief. Letting the emotions come and letting then go. Learning about my Dad's life and where he grew up in a way he never told but through my research. It was a really great trip, though, and I regret I didn't show more. I think it's very brave to share your story in this way. I hope you are happy and wish that you find your peace on this journey.
Thank you for this comment, @a1stbornunicorn! It was much more emotional than I think I was prepared for. This trip was a long time coming and I realized you really do live with grief, it never goes away because it felt like her passing just happened when we finally buried her ashes. I'm glad you were able to make that trip and document just a little bit. I do think journeys like ours honor the lives of the ones that have gone. Be well!
Such a lovely tribute to your Mom. This autumn, as I head west, I'll be scattering my father's ashes in Wyoming. He loved it so much and always said he was happiest out there. Thanks for sharing your picturesque little port town on the ocean. ☮️
Glad you enjoyed Port Townsend. So many things to do. And the Victorian buildings are still beautiful. Sorry about your loss but glad you did it. Take care you two.
Wow, this brought back so many memories. My father was born and raised in Tacoma until he went in the Navy at 21 and moved here to San Diego. Our last rv trip was up to the PNW and we stayed in Port Townsend at the Fort Warden State Park near the lighthouse. He passed away in 2004 and my siblings and I still haven't decided where to spread his ashes. Too many beautiful places. And now we have my mothers ashes who passed in 2017. Hugs to you both on your loss. ~Kim ❤
Interesting story, sometimes motivation comes from places you just don't expect. Losing your Mother is life altering...seems that you're closing a chapter, good for you. Thanks for sharing.
I lived there decades ago - the coffee shop where you went was where my ex husbands band practiced - great spot right on the water. Too bad you didn't see Chetzemoka Park - it was a short walk up the beach from Point Hudson where you stayed. Lots of exotic Plants - very cool. Too bad the Trust fund kids found it - jacked up the property values and ran the local folks out to Hadlock (Port Hadlock as it is called now) I loved it in PT - very few jobs at that time.
My condolences on the loss of your Mom. It's a difficult time in life. May the memories you have of her bring you comfort and peace. I lost my Mom in 2017. I think the best town in my area of PA(southeast) is Doylestown.
I didn't even think about it that way, but several people have pointed it out and it was unintended but also a crazy perfect parallel for what we were in PT for. Thank you, Patricia!
My daughter in laws parents lived for YEARS in Port Townsend! Loved your video! So did they! Cool! Lots of memories! Simply love you two!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I am partial to Lincoln MA, one town over from where I grew up and the home of Ponyhenge.

Sitka, Alaska. Located on Baranof Island in SE AK. Spent 30 yrs there. Very diverse community (8,500 pop.) where everyone took care of each other.
