    Your review was very helpful! I bought the q11k v2 tablet recently and is really nice... You can use your the eyedropper tool on your Pen by assigning the "Alt - B" key combination ("Option - B" on Mac) instead of "i" or just "Alt" key.
    PS. Your painting is great!

    I have been using this tablet for around 9 months now too and I share your views on it tho I want to add that the newer drivers don't work with Paint Tool Sai, on the other hand I could easily program the button on my pen to be the color picker and since I've been using this for a few months now I also want to add that I didn't need to replace my pen nib once and it still looks just the same as the unused nibs despite drawing daily. Also this is such a gorgeous painting, I'm a really big fan of your work and classes on skillshare!!

      Forgot to say that the tablets surface still looks flawless and I'm also used to putting quite some pressure on it while drawing

      Thank you so much!! :) So what I like to be able to do is program the pen button as Alt + Left Click (or on mac, Option + Left Click). I can do this on my wacom, but I couldn't with the driver I downloaded here. And when I asked them they said it was not available. I like that though, because then I can simply hover over a color and click the button and it selects it quick and easy. But I'll wait and see if it changes. :D Glad to hear you've had a good experience too!

      The main gain to having 8000+ levels of pressure is simply that you no longer have to push hard to get the 512 that your eye can even distinguish. They are all right near the tip of the sensor. With the older 1024 levels, you had to push the pen nearly half way to sustain a normal draw line, which was severely damaging to the tips. Most couldn't even push the tip all the way in, to get to the upper levels of 750+, on the old pens. By the way, the actual pressure levels portrayed are determined by the program you use, not the pen. If the program only has 16 levels, that is all you will ever see. Most don't have more than 256 levels, some barely have 512, I know of none that actually have 1024 levels of pressure-steps.
      In any event, having those extra levels, with the right curves, is what saves your tips and helps to make it feel more natural. Well, as natural as a squishy-tip pencil could be. One day they may have real pressure-sensitivity that doesn't involve the need for a spring-loaded tip. Put it in the tablet itself. The tablet can measure how hard you push, just by the sound it makes and if it has touch, it can see how hard by the contact-diameter on the surface.
      Honestly, pressure sensitivity is not as important as response-time and precision of the input. If it draws wavy lines, in the wrong spot, and trails behind your strokes... Then having it accurately produce the pressure only makes more accurately detailed errors. Luckily, this tablet is responsive, accurate and has almost no noticeable "wobble" in a normal stroke. (All tablets have wobble if you move it slowly. Makes angled lines look like waves in the ocean.) If you draw slow, you don't need a tablet, you need a mouse or more drawing lessons. :P

    Did you use oil pincel? In this drawing did you want painting effect or realistic? Would be nice you disponibilized those brushes. 😋☺ Nice job!

    Your work is amazing, I've recently bought the Q11K V2 tablet but when I install the latest drivers from Huion's website the tablet stops working. Has anyone else had this problem?

      I don’t have this tablet but I saw an online review with a similar problem, and they were able to fix it by uninstalling the driver from their previous tablet. hope this helps :)

    If you would compare this one with xp-pen Deco 03 which is a better option in your opinion?

    • @gabriellebrickey
      @gabriellebrickey  6 років тому +2

      I really loved the dial on the Deco 03. But what's one of the more important things to me personally at the end of the day is how much pressure I need to put down on my hand to get colors up on the canvas. The Q11K was great with my light touch. (So basically, my hand wasn't in pain after using it for a long while.) So I would have to go with the Q11K. Both great though. :)

    What's the surface texture like? Is it smooth like screen tablets or is there some grip so the stylus doesn't slide around?

    • @gabriellebrickey
      @gabriellebrickey  6 років тому

      It is not as smooth as screen tablets or glass, but has some grip I think. I usually prefer smooth actually, but this felt good!

  • @tomthesmol9676

    Thank you - this was really usefull! Huion and Wacom are too very good tablet brands. Huion is cheaper and They both have equal 8K levels of pressure sensitivity. I have a XP-Pen Deco 03 wireless tablet and so far I haven't faced any major issues. It is pretty affordable and I find the size to be perfect for me.

    Will you ever do a tutorial on how you speed paint your characters without dramatic lighting? Like the one in your Skillshare class?

    • @gabriellebrickey
      @gabriellebrickey  6 років тому

      Most of my longer tutorials will likely stay on Skillshare and Gumroad. But I may bring some shorter tutorials here. Could you send me a link to an example of what style you mean? :) Thanks!

    • @AnaLatese
      @AnaLatese 6 років тому

      Gabrielle Brickey I mean the tutorial on skillshare called Painting With Light. I believe you used one of your character sketches and painted them, but not without dramatic lighting.

    • @AnaLatese

      I guess I’m looking for a basics painting tutorial

    • @gabriellebrickey
      @gabriellebrickey  6 років тому +1

      Oh okay I gotcha :) I probably won't upload any full length tutorials here, since I have those already on Skillshare and I can't post competing products on a paid website and also on a free website like UA-cam. But I'm still thinking about what I can bring here without messing with any terms with the other websites I'm a part of. :) Thank you for your suggestion! I will keep it in mind and perhaps in the future I'll post something similar to that but shorter in length.

    • @AnaLatese
      @AnaLatese 6 років тому

      Gabrielle Brickey either on Skillshare or youtube is fine with me! Thank you for taking my suggestion!

    I love that you mention eyedropper on Pen in each review, I NEED that function, so I turn to G. Brickey to see what's what - Just dropped my Wacom pen in a cup of tea - Which is a con of being British, at any point a cup of tea could fuck your shit up :/
