Geez were they really this tight? It's frightening. Even the vocals and backgrounds. Most bands can only dream of sounding this good even in the studio.

You can see my fresh 18yr old face at 6 min mark. This gig literally changed my life. Danny kept slapping my hand and I even caught drumstick! I quit school the following week and went to London to seek out a life of music because of Oingo Boingo!

I truly hope you had an excellent life of exploration into music as a result of this. I never saw them live but as a kid I collected their cassettes, and later in high school and college, played in many bands, especially in the Los Angeles and Orange County punk scene of the late 80's- 2000's.

I have a huge respect for Danny Elfman and his long, brilliant career. This band is emence fun-perfect for the jittery, can't-sit-still '80's. Saw 'em in '87 at the Riverside in Milwaukee. We were on our feet the entire time and I remember Elfman was modestly blown away by our enthusiasum. Cheers to all of you watching this with your sweet responses.

This is so fascinating to watch. Sound and video quality is poor. But the music is sooooo good. And the entire band is utterly mesmerizing to look at. From Danny's unsettling smile, to a horn section that looks like a mortician, an 80's car salesman and a banker to a guitarist who could be some guy they found dressed for a fancy Applebee's dinner, a bassist who might pass for Eugene Levy's diminutive little brother, a drummer who's dressed like he's in a 1980's phys ed class and a keyboardist who looks like a preppy art major -- these guys are quite a combo with amazing musical talent.

One of my favorite bands all time!! I saw them live the first time in 1985 . . . not at this show . . . at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater, if I'm not mistaken . . . got to see them live 3 times (one Halloween show . . . which any self respecting lover of Oingo Boingo knows were EPIC!!) . . . Among the deepest regrets of my entire life . . . that I didn't see them live 100 times . . . Never has there been, before during or since, a band quite like this band. VIVA LA BOINGO!!!

    28:17 Goodbye Goodbye 😁
    Now, I know something
    About the ways of loving
    But I tell you, baby,
    That something's wrong
Look to the sky above and the mud below
Something drives me crazy; got to, got to get away
    Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye…
Without a doubt, I'm telling you I'm burnt out
My tank is running on empty for far too long
Whoa! I need fuel, 'cause I'm getting so low
Something drives me crazy; got to, got to get away
    Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye…
I need fuel, just the kind you give me
    Makes me feel so bad
    Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye…
    I can't believe
    I'm still around
    It's getting kinda late
    Gonna leave
    For a change of scenery
    I'm going crazy
    It's not the same
    Since you've been around
    I'm crazy, so crazy
You treat me like a dirty clown
You're always kickin' my dog around
I never get nothin' but constant abuse from you
You couldn't care less what I think
    Or my point of view
You're always puttin' the make on my friends
Always giving them eyes and the dirty lies
'Bout you and me; well, I'm through
It's the end of the line for you, babe
    Here's a ticket: One-way, Cincinnati
I'm sendin' you home to your ma and your daddy
So don't try to call me; you'll only be wastin' your Time!
    Oh, I know something
    About the ways of loving
    And I tell you, baby,
    That something's wrong
Look to the sky above and the mud below
Something drives me crazy; got to, got to get away
    Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye… 😎

i always thought these guys were the most underrated band of the 80s even though they were somewhat popular. great performers and played awesome live. i think their name made made them a turn off for people to even give them a chance for a listen but when you do you see their punkish rock kicks ass. many good memories come from these guys for me. "Good for your soul" was the highlight of their day as far as I'm concerned. though they had many other great ones

I hear an amazing baseline, but see no bass player... where is it coming from?

    • @sutiszorny8039

From John Avila, the bassist himself.

If you mean for Dead Man's Party, John is playing the bassline on the keyboard he is holding.
