- A quick test of the GT Omega Apex wheelstand with my Fanatec CSL DD 8nm and CSL v1 Loadcell pedals.

This is not an accurate depiction on the stability of the stand. With the proper seat cradle, i have no issues with my 100kg load cell brakes and 10nm wheel. It is rock solid and would recommend for anyone needing a foldable stand.
Yea its very sturdy. Was using the straps my girlfriend uses. Not a good solution for me but works very good for her. And without the straps and just using a chair that doesnt move its rock solid 👍
@@captainflatspot remove the wheels from your chair, and replace them with "fixed stationary casters". It's what I did with a wheel stand pro before I was able to get a rig. No straps needed :)
Hi do you think that the Chair Link that come with this apex wheelstand can do the trick to not tip over like seen in the video?

The chair cradle is VITAL! I went with a NLR WS 2.0, but this one was probably second on my list. They seem pretty decent, just not as sturdy as the wheel stand 2.0. But then again, it also doesn't cost as much either. But after a little over a year of use I can confirm it feels extremely sturdy and built like a tank. I've used it with Fanatec CSL LC this entire time, and in some games I use 90% on the brake and the wheels stand doesn't move or flex or anything at all. The shifter arm on the NLR WS 2.0 is also very sturdy. I shift hard, and I don't really notice any movement in the shifter arm at all.
That was what I thought. Nice to hear 👍And Yea I noticed the shifter support is build different now. This Apex my girlfriend got about 2 years ago. Nice to see that they improve the design.

Good vid. I have no experience with wheel stands myself, but all things I've used from GT Omega have been great things without breaking the bank. Currently using a monitor stand on wheels and a gaming chair. Previously had a GT Omega Art sim rig with the medium seat. All those things were very high quality.
Oh... have one of their backpacks also hehe. But even that one is very high quality for a decent price tag. Love that company.
And finally... Go McLaren!!!

I have a similar set-up but I added the Apex Rear Seat Frame with an NRG bucket seat. I have the same pedals CSL Elite with Loadcell and nothing moves with my brakes at 70%.. My wheelbase is the CSW V2.5 which is rated also at 8 Nm.
It's not as versatile as an aluminum extrusion cockpit but for the price it's very sturdy. I also added GT Omega single monitor stand and it make a very nice set-up.
Yea great value for sure. I would not have any problems using this (with the rear seat frame) as my main rig. And my girlfriend likes it a lot.
Go low with your straps. I put the hooks around the neck of the casters on my setup. No problems with the stand lifting up while braking or using the clutch and brake at the same time.
You could use the loops of your lashing straps around the legs of your chair at the casters, and get the same result of the GTOmega tray.
Yea I will try that. These straps was the one my girlfriend put on when she got it. Works perfekt for the G29 pedals (no surprise there 🤣). Gonna remake them and give it a go again. Because I think its time she get an upgrade from the G29 and maybe use this setup herself later on 👍

Which M6 screws you used to mount the Wheelbase?
I ordered the apex wheelstand today and i need the screws before i get my CSL DD 😊
If I remember correctly there will be screws with the apex wheel stand 👍 just make sure they are not to long. T nuts for the csl DD comes in the DD package
Literally looking at getting of these for my DD Pro 8NM. Would the chair tray that they offer maybe help with the stand moving?
yea I think that would eliminate the problem. Unless you have very hard brakes
There wasn't any visible flex from the mounting plate and DD wheel base. To me that is the deal breaker, do you still race in groups like we did with RVR? Would be nice to get some friends together on the Ring like old times.
Yea no real flex from the DD that was noticable when driving, so thats very good 👍 Gonna try mount the straps to the chair lower and parallel to the floor and the "tipping over" problem should be non existent. I would love to race on the Ring 😁👍 But not much time with a newborn baby at home. Later on there will be more time for that for sure

Yea. I'm gonna order that. This rig is my girlfriends. And as of now when she is using the G29 and its pedals this setup works just fine. But she needs loadcell pedals. So that accessory will be perfect 👍

Hi, how was mounting the CSL pedals? Got an apex and V2 pedals coming in, and was wondering if I'm going to have to drill out holes for the pedal mounts.

@@T.K.9 hehe Yea. But this wheelstand was bought by my girlfriend 2 years ago. I dont know how it is nowdays. Maybe contact GT Omega support and ask them if its included.
does the Apex wheel stand come with screws for the fanatec wheel? cause i might get one.
I have to watch my girlfriends unboxing video before I can give you an answer 😅 she dont remember right now. But its easy to get some M6 bolts from any hardware store

I dont know if i should get the NLR WS 2.0 or the GT OMEGA APEX. I want to use it with my fanatec csl dd so if anyone got any recommendations i would appreciate it😁

Yea that would solve the tipping over problem. But I'm thinking of building a similar wheel tray as the new version of this wheelstand has.
Buy wheels that have locks for the chair

Yes it will, it is tilting because of the ghetto straps. Please do not do what is being done here. The cradle will hold it down solid
