From outside the UK, this is more entertaining than the olympics
I agree
yes
Politicians have all been bought off. The House of Commons is just a pantomime. The real power lies in the interests who own the politicians.
Considering it's the winter Olympics it's not really a high bar... just writing what we all know... sorry winter sports practitioners
Yes, not so much fair sports - more 'Game of Thrones' with less blood and sex.
This must be very confusing for Boris! He’s been lying all his life and suddenly, it’s not OK???
He got fired from a newspaper for literally making stuff up. Lying was never OK. It's just when you do it to the government, in their private house of law, but not just once but everytime you opened your mouth, it shows nothing but contempt for the people you work with, the people you work for and the people you serve.
There is nothing confusing about it for the bastard. It's more a case of "now, how do i trick them into forgetting again?" and you will noticed that all last week, all boris did was stuff to try to make people forget he is a massive slovenly, pathetic, contemptuous, unkempt, sack of shit. We are talking about a guy, who this week, had a meeting with his longest serving aide, who told him not to do something and literally 2 hours later he did that exact thing. Why? coz he does not give a fuck and he figured the aide would take the fall. That went well for him didn't it?
It's certainly confusing me. Has Bojo lost his Mojo?
Prime Minister if you can call him that lies all the time cannot be trusted
He's been lying his whole life and getting away with it on technicalities. This will be no different.
He lies all the time cannot be trusted
Saying you've been told there was no party when you were at the party is just straight up lying.
You can shift the blame by the situation of someone lying to his face, with everyone knowing it's a lie. If at a party I said to you "There are no parties" you could then truthfully say you'd been told it, even if you know it to be false.
Ridiculously slimy and arguably misleading regardless of the fact that it's a technically correct statement. This time, it's far from the best type of correct.
@@Xentillus It doesn't matter if he can truthfully say he was told it, if he knows the thing he was told was untrue and chooses to put it forward as an answer he is lying, deliberatly trying to mislead the people asking the questions.
There were no “parties’ they were work gatherings. If you go for a drink after work with your mates to wind down, is that a party ? No.
@@vtechead1
I too enjoy drinking with Dozens of my friends in pre determined place, also filled with other like minded groups of "mates"
face it buddy it was an party
@@vtechead1 Yeah, that's a party
The fact we have to ask “which time?” should make answer pretty obvious, really.
I mean I asked him: "What time is it?" and he lied to me. He made up some shitty afternoon time in the morning!
Did he intentionally mislead parliament - Yes. Should he resign - Yes.
Will he - No, he has no morals, no standards, no integrity and now no authority.
Well, if he has no authority, then he shouldn't have any influence, given the system is a democratic one, right?
I sure don't know if Misleading The House is a ''Brexit Achievement (thus far)''
It is an achievement. After all it worked on the public and still does.
Wow he really IS your Trump. Same attitude: if it's not a law and just a convention, "Make me!" (to paraphrase Bill Maher about Trump)
Not true. Add the racism, insane power hunger, etc. Trump is worse.
He ironically is more like Clinton lying about Lewinsky trial...
Real question, open to anyone that can answer please: Why are MP's only standing up and saying the words, instead of putting forward the 'substantive motion' where they can 'investigate' the charge?
Would probably need 50% if its not something a committee has authority to do, if 50% are willing to investigate then 50% are willing to pass a bill of no confidence which also resolves the issue since he would be ousted.
Self interest and practicality. The opposition can't as they are in a substantial minority and conservative MPs won't as that would be career limiting.
The Tories can remove BoJo as PM at any time that 50% of the Tories want him gone*. They don't want him gone, they are as bad as he is.
*A vote no confidence leading to a leadership challenge. However the Tories have a rule that they can't have another one within 12 months, although I think that can be overridden by a 2/3 majority.
I was thinking of something even more basic than removing him. What I'm getting at is the motion to investigate whether he lied to the Parliament and thus the UK citizens.
@@stopitnow7762 It would still need the majority of MPs to vote for it and for the government to give it parliamentary time, neither of which are likely given the numbers
Would like to see the queen make her presence known, that she would not support a MP of misleading the house.
She has no real power. And exercises even less. Contrary to many republicans conspiracy theories.
She could not really do that.
If she wanted to she could go in an shoot the MPs and dissolve the entire thing.
Anything else has no legal precedent
absolutely not, feudalism has no place in our democracy
Why would you want an un-elected cerimonial hereditary dictator getting involved with politics?
@@ramel684
The fact they aren't suggests your dictator comment is not too accurate.
How can you be a ceremonial dictator?
Isn't that a 7 foot tall dwarf?
The fact that the entire MP related stuff in parliment is based off good chaps is just something I hate as it's ignoring when cases like this happen and you end up asking yourself....well if he won't resign.....what can we do as his party won't submit enough letters.....?
Anyone else?
He knew about all the parties. He was at the parties. He's known as Boris sniffles, cocaine Boris!!!
Johnson: "Are you calling me a liar!?"
The British people: "Well we're not calling you a truther!"
Considering events in the House since this video was put up, it's disgusting that Johnson has frequently got away with 'misleading the House'.
The trouble with the 'Good Chap' tradition of Parliament is that it cannot deal with someone who has no intention of being a 'good chap'. Just because a crime is unthinkable, doesn't mean it can't be committed. Legislate clearly, rather than assume no one will do it. Sadly, this is asking rule-breakers to make the rules so they cannot break them.
Parly can issue summons, and somewhat act a court. In court it'd be perjury, why is it not the same in Parly?
Woah! The volume is all over the place on this one!
If ignoring convension was a constitutional issue, it's a shame that so many didn't think that Bercow's action fell into this category.
The Hypocrisy is alarming.
At this point he is either willfully misleading, or he is incapable of running a functioning executive given the behavior of everyone around him, in front of him, without his ever objecting. In either case, he should remove himself- preferably doing so a hair's breadth ahead of being removed.
Nice to finally see a video pointing out all the lies being told in the uk medias. I recommend to watch the very well done political analysis from the channel “a different bias”
He didn't just lie to the Commons. He told the British people that when the UK were to leave the EU, Britain would save so much money that the NHS would pay for itself. He's now having to subsidize the health service with more taxpayer money!
I asked my Aleksa to repeat all the lies Johnson has publicly said since he took the title of prime minister.
72 hours later it was still speaking.
The microphone sound is too soft relatively to the intro sound.
What Johnson's shameful conduct shows is that the rules of Parliament are hopelessly outdated and need changing. What he's been doing isn't putting a positive spin on something that the opposition disagree with, it was talking about parties in his official residence and claiming that they didn't happen. There is a clear difference. First things first, he has to go, second the parliamentary rules need to be adjusted to avoid a repeat of what I've just mentioned. He's a disgrace to the UK
You missed the lie about being unable to have our own vaccination strategy while in the EU, while still being in the EU....
Johnson said he had been assured there were no parties but he didn't need that assurance as he had first hand knowledge that they took place. Also, the very fact that the PM continues in his role and receives the backing of others within his party shows how very little regard some Conservative MPs have for the very people they have been elected to serve.
Yes, the end.
this must be the shortest video ever after 'do bears shit in the woods?'
hey! i think the timestamps for this video are incorrect. great video as always!
As an American, you'd be amazed what having a constitution doesn't help with.
I don't think he's going to leave from this. There's a saying in Chinese that says "good people don't live long and the evils are going to live 1000 year"
Did he open his mouth? If yes, then the answer is yes. You can tell he is lying, because words are coming out of his mouth.
My fear is that Johnsons behaviour has become normalised and accepted by many when in truth people should be outraged. I, like many others in this country, have become completely disillusioned by our politicians but if I were a Conservative I would be weeping about what this man and his cronies have done to the party, all semblance of integrity has been erased.
He lied. He should go.
Johnson: "The Earth is Flat!" TLDR "Well, technically, if you take a tangent to the earth then the difference beween round and flat is really not important, so what do you think? Is the earth flat?"
what would happen if a "not good chap" would come along and then just say "what are you going to do about it" ........ but wait .
So, if we held a party in the Crown Properties pub, we'd be in the clear, then?
100%intentional but I am.more angry that a caller out of a liar is treated worse than someone consistently lying. Our system is pathetic.
It would be newsworthy if he was *not* lying to the Parliament
The real crime here is that people were asked to bring their own booze
Get rid of him. He shouldn't have been PM in the first place. He lost in three out of the four countries which make up the UK, only winning in England. The reason he got the job was due to the frankly, disgusting practice of falsely counting the UK as one country (something which it has never and will never be) during votes. This is done to ensure that England can always outvote everyone else thanks to their much larger population and do whatever they want with zero regard for the other countries.
>did the proven liar lie again
hmmm golly gee willikers this sure does warrant an entire explanation
deliberately misleading the legislature should be a criminal offense - it is, after all, perverting the course of justice at its very source.
in fact...
a smart barrister would have pressed the house to put into motion legislature to the effect now, and pressed Johnson to support it.
That's the problem with the British system of government isn't it? Over-reliance on trust as opposed to written rules. I mean, when it comes to founding a new country, trust in the founders would be necessary at first as they are starting from scratch. But hundreds of years of assuming that people are generally good and won't break unwritten rules? That's simply naive. Eventually somebody will fart in that elevator with no shame!
Of course he should go! How can anyone think otherwise?
I'm supposed to take the politicians seriously yet they don't their own rules they set out seriously. And has been proven numerous times to break their own rules over and over again.
BoJo didn't lie to Parliament, he conducted himself inappropriate and has landed himself in direct contest of public conduct and inaccurate response. He must resign for being a wood mouse
Like most serial liars he actually thinks he is telling the truth, because he has grown so accustomed to lying, he cannot distinguish lies from truths. I am inclined to believe that everything he says is false until proven otherwise.
British Parliament is wild, so much more than any other country's I've seen
I am under the impression the UK has no written constition, so it could be changed
If even the Queen had to follow the rules when his husband died, that means the Johnson has more power than the Queen of England??
Suddenly its not like a political figure to lie??? The madness
I think the chapters in the video aren't quite right, love the channels videos loads
Again, yall think lying politicians should resign? This idea is so strange to me as an American.
Everybody in the UK would benefit watching this...well maybe not Mail readers who don't give a f**k what a Tory politician does/says.
Keep up the good work Boris. Most of us still love you. Guaranteed most of these egits commenting about your parties were having ones themselves. Best PM ever.
You hear the same thing about Boris. He is great to be around. However he is lazy, I mean lazy to do any homework on Tory policy. Makes and breaks promises, and crucially only interested in what he can get from people or the job. He is the most important thing in Boris Johnson life.
Technically correct is the best kind of correct
I'd be more shocked if you said he told the truth.
Excellent as always Ian Blackford 👏👏👏
Roll on independence!!
Jesus! that intro was LOUD!
Please keep an eye on the level meters when working with audio.
This shabby affair demonstrates that Erskine May is deficient as it lacks legal force and assumes good character. When ministers of the crown and the head of government treat Parliament and MPs with disdain and contempt, a decision on whether the ministerial code (as presently known) has been broken needs to be taken by the Speaker of the House of Commons and Parliament. Deliberate, wilful misrepresentations of fact not promptly corrected must have the individual removed from their position.
blatantly misled parliment like bro a 6 year old can tell this guy is a liar
OK I get it.... so the next time I'm stopped by the police and given a speeding ticket for doing 45 in a 30 limit area, I can just tell the officer that my passenger repeatedly assured me that the limit is 50 and no offence was committed. That should get me off the hook nicely. It must be great to be exonerated of responsiblity for breaking the law because of being given wrong advice. Yes of course BJ broke the law and yes he lied / mislead parliament about doing so.
More popcorns pls
Yes. Without doubt. Several times.
But he had a party at his flat so nope still in contempt
Of course he did. He's in power.
Johnson and his government has delivered Brexit, rolled out one of the most successful vaccine programs the the world has ever seen, 38 + new trade agreements, growth in the UK economy this coming year predicted to be around 5% , much better than we could hope for at the start of this 3 year s£%t storm and the highest in Europe, and all you and yours want to talk about is the biggest non story ever party-gate.
Short answer... Yes
Okay, all Johnson does, is lie through, his teeth
Dec. 8th-get lost and be responsible! Johnson was aware that the parties took place and he was present!
Yes he did and he does it daily.
Would Boorish Johnson lie?
Never!
I hate living here sometimes
YES...Johnson LIED
Did Doris at some point open his mouth? If yes then he did
It's so pathetic seeing technicalities being the shield. We all know he is lying.
back in the good old days, a PM lying in the commons would get them hung
Where the hell did twelve parties come from?
Tories are face to face with a leviathon, they should choose thier words, very carefully.
if his lips were moving, then he was lying
he lied to everyone.....
Goodbye Traitor Johnson!
Bro, Tories lie like every day. Half the house should be empty.
It sounds intentional, and like he doesn't care what the truth is as long as he is covering his ass.
They guy lie in your face and that’s recorded on UA-cam. You still ask if he should be your PM 🤣 Nice!
Pretty sure that if Blackford says something about Johnson it will be absolutely true because these guys would love to have anything to blame or accuse Blackford!
Iain Blackford isn't my MP. I don't live in Scotland. But my word, if there were more Blackfords in Westminster I'd be a happier man. To the point where I've emailed him directly thanking him for his mere presence in that house.
@@tman5634 I'm also pretending to have done so
Agreed. Personally I'm vehemently opposed to Scottish independence, but while I disagree with his politics I definitely respect Blackford as a person. Unfortunately my opinion about the conservative party is the complete opposite: I agree with a lot of their policies, but good grief do most of them lack character.
@@daveogfans413 are you accusing AlwuwaBrax of lying to this channel? 😊😊
I agree
@@daveogfans413 I call upon Dave to amend his remark or I shall be forced to ask him to withdraw from the chamber!
Did Johnson lie to Parliament? Is Boris Johnson the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom? Is Boris Johnson a tory?
Hard questions indeed...
Sadly yes to all
Funny how little integrity means these days when it comes to public offices
Thick skin rather. Preferably so thick no spine is needed.
Integrity means a lot, if you have any of it you won’t get near them.
Please name a period in British history when politicians had integrity. Give a name please.
having no integrity is a prerequisite nowadays
It's not like BJ composes his speeches the way he could slime and slip away with literally any shit one can throw at him. He is an artist!
The fact that this discussion is happening at all is a sure sign that the system is already way beyond fixing. How can a man who lies so blatantly be trusted with anything? It’s utterly absurd.
You'll never get instant corrections. But democratic processes are intended to bring about change if the populace holds dishonesty in contempt and acts to minimize it. Polling suggests that's what may happen.
Boris leaving will be longer saga than Brexit
🤦♀️ oh no! I hope not.
Time will tell. Let's see how many seasons we will get.
Boris is not a natural British name . More like a eastern european name .
I feel you underestimate the tangled mess of Brexit. Brexit is a vast avalanche of crap running downhill, Boris was merely the one who smashed the dam that was holding it back. The shit-show is still going downhill and gathering pace.
@@davidjohn64 lol why is this relevant, Rishi or Priti aren’t exactly either
It would be easier to catalog the instances when he *hasn't* misled the house...and I'm not even joking 😑
He did not lie twice. He made corrections tho at the first possible occasion in both cases.
It’s clear to 10 year old he should go. The time and energy that is allowed to be lost on this one individual while country is in crisis astonishes the most casual of observers.
Summary: yes, yes he did.
The 'guidance' referred to was 'covid guidance' - which Johnson himself created. Johnson didn't follow covid guidance, no amount of twisting will change that.
He didn’t follow it. Nor did he advise others to follow it.
At a time when you couldn’t mix with other people indoors, his own wife there with a cake and whoever was working that day.
When he was supposed to be self isolating because he was infected, he kept leaving the flat. So they put chairs across his door.
So? The coronavirus vaccine manufacturers were and are still protected from liability, thus if their vaccines give signs that something is not ok with them, the manufacturers have no responsability for it. That is NOT ok and that is why nobody should have been forced to take even one dose of such vaccine.
Yes, wear a mask or avoid the public closed spaces, but nobody can revert the damage after you get a bad vaccine (or DOESN'T HAVE TO because the manufacturers did not have to take responsability for their own vaccines).
Did Johnson lie or not? Well that's a question that is going to require a great deal of careful consideration isn't it? If his lips are moving he's lying.
Correct ..
Yes. Yes indeed.
Relying on the crown Properties exemption does not mean that the guidance was followed at all times, but rather that failing to follow the guidance was not illegal.
I'm living in the Jamaica winsome Annette brooks Victoria
Wicked. People do me all the wrong them taken me to mental health for cover hide them wicked ness
Stop from write up .y all over igon
when "misleading the parliament" is only applicable when what we in commons therms call "knowingly and deliberately lying", then ignoring the intention and wording of a guideline while following the letter of an exemption the underlying law would literally be "not breaking the law". I wonder when in England, people start asking for the monarchie to take over.
Exactly
@@winsomebrooks9781 what?
Yes. He actually lied to Parliament.
On many occasions.
Just to start with, it is a simple, provable fact that the Tories are not building 40 new hospitals, a statement he has repeated many, many times in parliament.
The “Good Chap” system of government doesn’t survive an administration of “arrogance, ignorance & indolence”.
It's such a ridiculous concept, but it makes total sense for the people in government, they can profit, fuck up the country and deal with zero real consequences
It’s just not meant for modern governments. Maybe it was acceptable a century ago but it doesn’t make sense now
How anyone with his track record can be put in any position of power is insane, he won't even admit to the number of children he's responsible for.
Awful to think if him representing our UK Gov't at the Queen's Jubilee. 🇬🇧💔
