Superfuse does a lot of things really well. enjoyed the demo a lot. i am just hoping there will be enough endgame content like maps, rifts, endless dungeons, paragon, bossruns and maybe ng+
@@reregfys7169 I think some do it right, like actually changing some parts around a bit. Bosses suddenly have an ally or different mechanic, actually new enemies in some locations... But yeah, the kind where everything is simply higher level? Lame.
Or they could just do a good old single player game with a story to follow and finish and eventually if you want, you start a new playthrough with a different class e that's enough. Games don't need to be an infinite loop like Diablo 3 or Path of Exiles. They are designed like that because the companies behind them need "engagement" to justify the cost of the server side of things. For a single player, it's unnecessary.
@@the_crius if you have a good platform for your loot-based ARPG it’d be foolish to not develop a progressive endgame. You’d be throwing opportunity out the window. It’s what this genre DOES.

I don't understand loot systems that are so flooded with garbage that filtering systems are need. My first experience with it was exciting because of all the potential. That quickly went away as the time between actually useful drops grew larger and larger.
A good loot system is set up in a way where you see a lot of garbage early with intermittent good drops but culminates in endgame with the same number of drops but with escalating rarity drop chances. The issue is that you can't really set a game like this up to drop less early game because most of those stats (I assume) are rng based...so you'd be going even longer without finding something necessary. But when you get to endgame you get that delicious lootsplosion experience and while it may all be useless stuff, sorting through it is a big part of the experience.
Man i would give so much, even pay, for games to use elden ring style loot where every item is useful and unique instead of the terrible diablo style loot that keeps you in menus forever looking through numbers on junk

Wow, it looks sooooo good (writing this at 5:00 mark!!!) Oh, and to add to SCs addiction to whirlwind…I’m more of a sorcerer Frost Nova addict, I love a whirlwind firing in front of me, clearing the way in front of me….
This game looks kind of cool but as someone with thousands of hours just on single characters of which I had many in CoH/CoV or CoX as many refer to it, it looks a lot different. The day they pulled the plug on CoX and shut down the servers was a very sad day and something that didn't need to happen considering paid subs and the ingame store was more than enough to keep it up and profitable. I may look for the servers you mentioned and I wonder if the original development team ever got "Project Titan" off the ground as they had quite a bit of money thrown at them via a kick starter they set up?
Because the devs at the time showed us the numbers when they attempted to buy City of Heroes from NCSoft. The game was making a solid profit, beyond what any other indie game was earning at the time, but was on the bottom tier of NCSoft games. Mostly because South Korean gamers apparently prefer super-grindy games that are boringly repetitive for some reason.
I play on the Homecoming servers which keep the game closer to the original flavor, but even with an all-volunteer dev team they’ve added lots of new things. For instance the last patch added the Symphony powerset, which looks a lot like the “music fight” scene from Dr. Strange 2. Which has to be a complete coincidence, given the development time afforded to part-timers. Also, since it’s free, nothing is gated behind paywalls. You have access to all costume pieces from the jump, and you can get pretty much any power not hard-coded into the game engine. (Once you’re the appropriate level, of course. But in the next they’re lowering the levels to access the end-stage abilities, so you can do things like get the level 32 ability at level 26.)
City of Heroes, now there is a name I have not heard for quite some time. But if private servers are getting a resurgence then I need to look into that!
Ah cool, 2:22 minutes looking at the starting screen this time. I know it's probably a strategy to force people to click your vids instead of deciding from the preview, but that is starting to grate me something fierce.

Hey Splatt, you should check out Galactic Glitch when you get the chance, its currently on demo for Steam Next Fest, tried it out today and its a ton of fun.
A lot of ARPGs let you turn off the helmet, but they should let you turn off the visuals on anything. I mean, during progression we change gear so often and also look like a clown with mismatched stuff. So, the ability to just turn all that off or make reskinning freely available anytime, from the inventory, would help greatly with that. Most games have dyes and illusionists now, but it costs money and has to be done in town.
Action RPG is the biggest genre, I think. DIablo-likes are a sub-genre. I mean, Almost all of the AAA games these days (and this century) have been ARPGs. The witcher series, Final Fantasy after 10, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin's Creed, etc, etc. RPG elements are in every action game now, and vice versa.
Did not realize there was a demo, downloading it now. I've been following this ever since it was announced so let's see if the demo melts my PC and I have to fiddle with the graphics card or if I can run this one out of the gate. I'm liking a lot of what we've been shown so far. Mechanically it seems tight, combat looks satisfying. But I have a lot of unanswered questions still regarding the campaign and the characters. Classes seem to follow the Borderlands vein where each class is actually a set character with their own story which... well the Berserker seems to be a likeable enough guy and very satisfying to play, we'll have to see about the others and how they play. But I'm still skeptical. Developers feel like they're playing their cards extremely close to their chest which... can go a number of different ways. Then again, as a creator myself, it's kind of hard to do anything in the cyberpunk genre at all these days even if you really want to and know what you're doing because every deadbeat Twitter slacktivist has latched onto the genre like a parasite...
